Defenders of the earth was still in the mix but it stood no chance compared to the crushing weight of like 7 years worth of the og all stacked up against the measly 10 months worth of defenders of the earth episodes
HAPPY 500! Just to reiterate James comments at the end (i listened to this on Spotify before) if there's something you are interested in...JUST DO IT! When i started listening to the pod back in 2015 i was drowning in debt and had no direction among other things, i then started getting back into drawing and now i have a brand and a community and no more debt, and James and Maso were a big part of giving me to kick to do it! Here's to another 500!

Look, Ive pursued at least 3 things seriously and none of them ever went anywhere. Now I'm in my mid 40s and work at a bank and hate life. So most of the time pursuing what you love doesn't work out.
@parkmannate4154 having an attitude like that ensures it. Failure is part of learning and is nowhere near as bad a thing as giving up. Keep going mate you can find something you love. Others can, why not you?

It’s so weird how many different phases of my life have been spent listening to the weekly planet. I used to on the way home from one of my first jobs. I’ve now listened to you when I’ve done traffic management, night work at hotel, reception at gym, serving coffee on a train and now while doing waste management. You made every job easier ❤
Fun fact I've always wanted to tell you guys but it never felt like the appropriate time; when I started listening to this podcast it was episode 291. On my podcast app, Google Podcasts, it was titled "291 Weird Versions of Spider-Man" and I thought "Wow they're going to cover so many different versions I've never heard of before, what a cool podcast!" obviously I figured out my blunder quickly, and I've been a devoted Monday morning listener every single week since then.
Thanks for all the entertainment you've given me over the years, all the hard times you guys have helped me get through, and all the belly laughs that left me struggling to breathe. Congratulations on 500 James and Maso.

Speaking from a Visual effects artist stand point, the more studios actually plan things before and during shooting the better things look.
9 times out of 10 if effects look bad it's because very little planning was done or they change their mind during post production (it happens way too often)
I know this will get lost in the ether..but I somehow stumbled upon this podcast during the covid lockdowns. I have been a avid listener since. Congrats on the 500th. You really got me through the dark times of not being able to leave my room. Thank you boys for giving endless laughs since. Hoping for another 500. I have now seen myself use the same one liners and type of humor you both do in my conversations and I am a better person b/c of it. Love yall.

Tony Moore, the OG TWD artist, included a bunch of his internetbuddies as background zombies in the first few TWDs. As a result, I'm in a few panels of TWD #1. Nobody ever thought it would be so huge.
If anyone is interested in other aboriginal stories, Samson & Delilah is quite a good indie film from a few years ago, and Cleverman tv series is an interesting take on an aboriginal superhero concept

I can't believe you guys got a reboot of the Rocketeer for the 500th.
I was going to listen to all the good films after listening to this on Spotify, realised I had forgotten what any of them were, came on the UA-cam comments section to see if anyone had written them. Now I have to contemplate whether I can be arsed to listen for them again to find out myself!

I am generally onboard with all of your picks, which is why it's so jarring when you didn't like Rampage but DID like Brightburn.
Rampage is terrible but in a charming way.
Brightburn can't decide what it wants to be. It promised a "What if Superman decided to be evil," but instead gave us, "what if we spent all this time building up how cool this kid was and how great his parents are and then just throw all that out to make him a creep with super powers?"

It sounds like they confused Gods of Egypt with Exodus: Gods and Kings which was the Ridley Scott directed sequel that came out two years earlier than the original.

Boys! Exodus - Gods and Kings is the Ridley Scott biblical movie of Moses (like a live action Prince of Egypt)
They seem to have mistaken it for Gods of Egypt because of the bland subtitle... and the white Egyptians too, probably.
54:19 as someone named Moses I feel compelled to correct you guys on this. Exodus Gods and Kings was Ridley Scott and was bad. You were describing Alex Proyas's Gods of Egypt which was somehow exponentially worse and forever tainted my view of Chadwick Boseman
They forgot to mention Far from Home in 2019 and No way Home in 2021 and for 2017's Homecoming they said it's the "second second Spider-man movie". I wonder what is up with that, James?
