As the son of a former army officer who saw his father go to war in 1965, I know the sacrifice the army makes, for country, its people and families. The army is a close and tightly knit family and does take care of its own. One has to live in it to know it. Today I am old man and this does bring back memories.
As an Indian Gurkhas we fought so much for our Nation but we still don't have our own State.. Indian Government should think about it..
The reason is Gorkhas live across many states in India in many communities. The only areas they have majority is in Southern part of Sikkim and two adjoining districts of West Bengal

We should not be disheartened by some momentary mishap. We must realise the gravity of the situation and emulate the fortitude with which our fighting men take such events in their stride :
Have confidence in the ability of our armed forces.
The armed forces shall accomplish this task and ensure that no one dares to indulge in this kind of misadventure in future.

Why is no one asking who was punished for defending borders so inefficiently that intruders took control of 400 Km by 80 Km tract without even fighting?

Bus and train diplomacy is for civilized people who might commit mistakes. The documentary stated that the PM stated that the war is with the army and not with the people of pakistan. In Pakistan, the army is not just a defence force, but an entity with more support and strength than the political government. Although, Atalji handled it well, he should have put his foot down, and regained what was lost...atleast some of it.

I think everyone missing one crucial thing from kargil war if Pak disconnect Ladak from Srinagar by bombing NH1, it would be most successful achievement for China not Pakistan. It will save Chinese Occupied Kashmir.
