- पाकिस्तान के तत्कालीन सूचना मंत्री मुशाहिद सैय्यद हुसैनी का कहना है कि पाकिस्तान ने कारगिल में वही ग़लती की जो 1965 में की थी. उन्होंने उस वक़्त पाकिस्तान में चल रही कई अहम घटनाओं और जानकारियों को भी साझा किया. उन्होंने बताया कि जब भारत के तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी लाहौर आए, तब तक नवाज़ शरीफ़ को कोई जानकारी नहीं थी. उन्हें मई में आधिकारिक तौर पर कारगिल को लेकर बताया गया था.

When I hear this gentleman talking with such earnestness and honesty, it just amazes me that such clarity exists amongst politicians across the border. If only our neighbour had more of him ruling. On the other hand, I admire the smart and shrewd diplomacy which India has sustainably shown over decades (even when we had some of the superpowers of the world on our wrong side). It certainly is no mean feat. Anyway - hope peace prevails.
