And it’s so dumb that she thinks that she is on par with a streaming service. She provides maybe 200 hours of content max per month, which are at specific times that may not fit into your schedule well. You could watch vods but that’s not the same and most vods are deleted after two weeks. Netflix on the other hand, for just two times the price of a tier 1 sub, gives you access to nearly 2 million hours of content, all available on demand and you can watch it anywhere. I’ll choose Netflix any day.

She is a narcissist, and it’s incredible to see her act out the behaviours so publicly. It really falls apart when they don’t confine their abuse to personal relationships
The word is overused these days, but it definitely 100% fits here. The way she gaslights and always comes up with some half baked response is key. When she can't think of a response in that apology video, she just shuts down. I know someone exactly like this, and people like this are terrifying.

i'm late here, but it's really not good to use a term for people that have NPD- an actual personality disorder- for someone who is manipulative. having NPD or any personality disorder doesn't make you more likely to be abusive than anyone else. being a narcissist with NPD and being an abuser are two entirely different things that don't correlate.

When someone ends a sentence with "...honey" or "sweetie" to win an argument, I automatically hate them. It's demeaning and often rude as if you're assuming they're too young or naive to understand your argument. Really the worst type of people to debate.

Well, here's the tip of the iceberg: I reside in Mexico, south of the border. Let's say the price usually teeters between 19 and 20 pesos a dollar. 5 bucks can cover 4-6 uses of public transport. Some workplaces take 2-4 places to get to if we keep it around an hour's time. As is, those 5 bucks are 1-3 days' worth of public transport. I also said 'tip of the iceberg', especially since South America has it worse.

I know this is 3 years old at this point, but one thing that continues to frustrate me is how people in general seem to assume they can guilt trip others into a donation. Yes, giving information about what the money is going to is absolutely necessary and you want to strike an emotional chord with the people your asking for money from, but if they say no then that’s that. You don’t know what there financial situation is and it’s important to remember that donating like that is a privilege because it comes from a certain degree of financial security.
she’s so rude and manipulative it makes me sick to my stomach. The worst part is that I can tell she KNOWS that it’s wrong, she KNOWS that what she’s saying is mean and classist and doesn’t make sense. She keeps using vague and contradicting arguments, just believable enough to keep people angry and asking questions. It’s ridiculous the lengths people will go for money...

The fact of the matter was that if you have a ton of hours to soak into her content, itd be great to support it like you would spotify or netflix. Guaranteed NOBODY would pay if they didnt have to for those and hence many mooch off each other and basically steal, we just dont see it that way since its so accepted. I can see great validity in the argument that people who soak money into internet access and those services either arent struggling to survive for $5 or that they are not using that time wisely if so. The fact this pissed so many people off doesnt mean shes entitled but that it hits home because yeah, internet is not a necessity. the game systems/computers you play the games she streams are arent, and everyone is simply mad because someone said you should pay for something that was given for free. if facebook told people to start paying, wed have anarchy

She's not putting significant, pay-worthy effort into these videos. She looks pretty, plays Breath of the Wild, and hates on her viewers. And then compares herself to Netflix... A service that provides SO much more quality entertainment and variety. It's not accurate to say "if you are willing to pay for a good service then you should be willing to pay me for my trashy one."
Additionally, there is no guarantee that the viewers ARE actually paying for lots of other optional entertainment services. My only paid subscription is my phone bill, with data... I don't even have wifi, let alone Netflix, Hulu, UA-camRed, or the like. I wish I could be a Patreon to the entertainers I like but the best I can do is give them my ad-cents by watching their vids and sharing them with others, hopefully increasing their views. More views = more recommendations = more subscribers brought in = more money. A loyal viewer is still something to be grateful for. And a lot of times, talented people do not even get the fame they deserve. Take it from an indie music fan. So one would be fortunate to have a following at all.
Some entertainers deserve to be rewarded for their quality content. There are some of us who can contribute more than others. So we all do what we can and enjoy being a community. :)

A couple months late, but my manager at my overnight job (get off at 8am) works full-time and streams after work. He works 9-10 hour shifts, gets two days off a week, is married, and streams nearly every day. It's wild how dedicated he is to it and it shows that for 99% of people, full-time streaming isn't enough to cover living costs.
