    MikesReviews.Me/Jackery500
The Jackery Explorer 500 is one of the smaller sized Jackery portable power stations, and is great for small sized power requirements. This means this portable charger works well with tablets and phones, and it’s perfect for those long flights or last minute emergency uses. We at eTechies were fortunate enough to review this product, so we decided to review it too - let’s find out what we think about the Jackery Explorer 500.
The Jackery Explorer 500 is very compact compared to some other similar products such as the Anker PowerCore 20000 which has a large build quality and a 2 USB ports. It compares nicely because the 600mAh capacity is very nice for wand power supply needs.
    First Impressions (Size & Weight)
This 25Wh portable power bank has the following dimensions: 1x width, 1x height and 1x depth or about 4.5 x 3 x 0.5 inches in size. The charger is very light weight weighing only 8 ounces total including the USB cord which comes in at about 6 ounces overall with the battery pack itself weighing just 6 ounces overall. The volume of the Jackery Explorer 500 is small compared to larger products such as the Anker PowerCore 20000 which is twice it's size with a volume of 6 x 5 x 0.
What we like about this 500 watt portable power station:
This power bank has a high quality feel to it when you use it, not like some of the cheaper brands which feel very low quality in general. The micro-USB charging cable that is used to power this device through your standard wall charger, laptop or computer USB port is just as impressive as the Jackery Explorer 500 itself. The cool thing about this cable is that it has a braided design that prevents tangling and unraveling, making it harder for those things to happen and also making for a nice clean look and experience altogether.
Other things we like are that this power bank works as described, unlike some high capacity brand products which have a smaller output than what is advertised, the Jackery Explorer 500 does not have this problem. If you need a product with a small output such as this one for your phone or tablet, it can be very difficult to find one that doesn’t overheat after using it for only an hour or two. The Jackery Explorer 500 has passed our tests with flying colors, and we were able to use it on the go without worrying about that at all.
What we didn't like about the Jackery Explorer 500:
This product really has very little to dislike. The only problem we found was that there was no indicator light for the power bank itself, so it's impossible to know when the power bank is fully charged or not. It also doesn’t have any sort of protection against over-charging which can be an issue if you forget to unplug the charger once it is full. So this can be a bit of an annoyance if you don’t pay attention to the yellow light on your own charger when it comes on, or maybe even just plugging in your device instead of realizing it isn’t charging at all because of this lack of indicator light.
Overall 4.5/5 stars, we love the Explorer 500!
