The 500 ran our home 6ft freezer unit for 10 hours from 100% charge. Hope this helps. So it can be used in an emergency at home for a short term power cut - one must assume therefore that the 1000w will give around twice that.
This was perfect timing because I was just trying to figure out which size Jackery I needed for my car camping.
Yes, this is why I brought this is-- if I had known that 500 wouldn’t last so long... I would have gotten the 1000
Considering I've made over 30 sales enquiries and have been ignored, I'd hate to see what happens if there was a problem. Totally untrustworthy company, from my experience.
@@pseudopuppy160 Oh dear, that is not good news.
@@pseudopuppy160 : So you actually haven't bought any? Just calling to enquire?
@@pseudopuppy160 there’s plenty of other brands out there but this size comparison is pretty cool
This is so helpful! I am building out my 1988 chevy and I don't want to have to deal with a bunch of complicated wiring. love how simple the jackery is.
Being that you advertised out side in the cold snow ☃️ and coming from you, I'll really consider there products for power 🔋 thanks 👌
Agreed! And Jackary and their spokespeople often work together to get power packs donated to the people who’ve lost their homes and live in their cars... people who need some help. I will always purchase from them.
Jackery has a top notch marketing department. Almost all the channels I watch have promoted Jackery at least once. A win, win deal for you all.
Love my Jackary 240 with solar panel for charging my devices while camping.
Thanks for the comparisons, Tristan, they are helpful. I own a 300W battery (not a Jackery) and it serves me quite well for powering personal electronics on extended weekend explorations. I'm looking to add a small 12V cooler to my kit next Spring so investing in the 500W Jackery (and perhaps a portable 100W solar panel) now will be a good decision.
Alpicools are on sale right now and they have a coupon. It is the lowest I have seen the price in the three years I've been watching.
@@secondact7151 Thanks for the heads up. The 21 qt Alpicool is at the top of my list and the sale makes for a good buy. Cheers.

Thank you for your honesty about being sponsored. I ordered my Jackery 1000 before watching this, but love the honest review. 1000 is exactly my need for a 12volt fridge, phone, iPad, computer, and a 12volt RoadPro saucepan.
I would definitely need this to power my CPAP on the road, camping, etc.,(or, best case scenario, RV life.)
Thanks so much for this video; I was on the cusp of getting the 240, but thanks to this video I see that the 500 would be the appropriate size for me
THE 250 IS AWESOME FOR COLD WEATHER CAMPING WITH A GOOD SLEEPING BAG AND POLY PAD COMBINED WITH A HEATING PAD OR ELECTRIC BLANKET WILL KEEP YOU SNUG ON THOSE COLD NIGHTS AND THAT BAD BOY CAN RUN ONE OF THOSE HEATING DEVICES ON A MEDIUM SETTING (DRAWING 40 TO 65 WATTS) FOR LIKE 12 HOURS
I got the Jackary 500 for my 7-week trip out to CA and back to TN. I set it up to charge from the car and it's 12v outlet was connected to my Apicool C20. The Jackary charging from the car easily kept up with the draw from the fridge. In a test, it ran the fridge for 48 hours and it consumed about 70% of the Jackary's battery. I also recommend getting Jackary's solar panel.
Hi bud. Quick question.
Do u get 6-8 w output power when nothing is plugged in and the buttons are on?
Is that normal? And mine won t go to 100% charge after sitting plugged in for hrs. Stopped at 99
@@gi-yq9iz no, there should be 0 output if nothing is plugged in.
Yeah!!! Idaho! I recognise this spot. Been watching a lot of van dweller and seldom see anyone in Idaho! I love your videos. Especially your deep dives in idaho. Lived here 67 years and see some country with you I have never explored. THANK YOU
You sold me on the 1000. Good job on this promo.
So with that do I also need a inverter n battery charger
@@Newbeginnings4TyGrr you charge it with your 12v car socket or solar panels or house charger 🔌
This is the kind of video i needed to decide whether to get one of these! Thanks! :)
Tristan (I'm talking to you as if I know you personally, sorry!), I am so excited! I purchased the Jackery 1000 and solar panels. I work from home and have a minivan but I haven't been going out because I didn't even have enough power for 1 day. I take weekend trips but I have to be back home for Monday. As soon as it arrives, I'm hitting the road for some Florida adventures! Thank you for all of your videos... I know it is a lot of work in front and behind the camera. Your efforts are a great blessing to me.
How did your trip go with the Jackery?
I agree be cuz I've been looking at some daiquiris myself and I don't even have my trailer yet but I'm in my Nissan but I think if I was to get one it will have to be the $1,000 cuz I don't want I want something that's good.

Guess the sale is over now that I see this January 14 :-)
Right : /
I found January 27 :(. Hope they go on sale again.
Another sale ends today 15% off
...i am usually somewhat skeptical of these sponsored videos but not with yours. will totally consider getting one of these in the future. thank you!
I had just recently purchased the 240 to use in case of power outages for small electronics, so I haven't actually used it yet. I don't camp so I didn't think I needed something with a lot of power, just for the basics. Plus it was the only one I could afford at this time but I'd love to eventually get the 1000 so I can power more things.
Solar has made camping so much easier. Definitely going to get one. I am curious if you have a small, electric portable heater that you could plug into the Jackery to use on those cold mornings? And also, maybe a small quiet portable fan for those hot nights? Tight lines!
Did you ever get an answer to this? I was wondering about the electric space heater too.
@@freemom5723 No, I did not get a reply on this.
Lasko makes a personal heater with high and low settings that I have used with my Jackery 240.
i have a Jackery 1000 and anything that uses heat coils, ie small heater ,airfryers, coffeemaker uses up wattage dependin on appliance wattage like1500w small heater only last 20-25 mins or less on full,a coffeemaker will use 15% from turning on till full brew pot,.my12v iceco jp50 fridge/freezer will last 4-5 days, airfryer will use same as heater, these are some of the appliances that ive tested
Got my Jackery 240 from Amazon for 208$
Major price break...
Great unit for emergency situations or just camping. Etc...
Wow, I ordered a Jackery yesterday and it's shipped today. That's great customer service so far!
jackery 500 will run a cpap or bipap for 2 nights at 8 hours with humidification. if your recharging while
Appreciate the specifics on portable power. I’ve heard good things about Jackery, but was unsure of the appliances they support. Now I know!
I use my jackary 240, with solar, for my kindel, phone, fairy lights at night
4:50 LOL , how hard could it be to locate an electrical outlet , unless you searching for one in a cave ?
Sounds like you’ve never been in a house built before 1950.
The 300 is a much better unit than the 240. The 300 has a newer style solar controller. MPPT on the 300 and PWM on the 240, so it will charge in about half of the time. I am guessing that once the supplies of the 240 are gone, it will no longer be offered.
Jackery web site shows MPPT for the 240 www.jackery.com/products/explorer-240-portable-power-station?variant=19479246864471
@@jadanblue3927 Maybe the reviewer that I was watching (HOBOTECH) had an older version. The 240 can take 42W in while the 300 can take 90W. It seems odd.... I would still go with the 300 because of the charge time (and additional power.)
@@JohnnyG1956 good info thanks. I had already bought the 240 on sale but sounds like the 300 is a great product too (the 300 was sold out) I am budgeting for a 2,000 watt Lithium house system so I can finally get real fridge someday and never buy ice again
Best for full fridge (2) backup power? 1500?
Or maybe the 1000 with one or 2 solar panels?
My Jackery 300 can run a 40inch tv for 6 hours, hand held bender, and a few other things. It’s awesome
Hand held bender 😂
I use a CPAP to sleep and I have been using a deep cycle battery with an inverter to sleep when I go camping. After watching your channel and a few others I ended up buying the Jackery 500 for my camping adventures. I have a 100 watt solar panel to recharge it already.
Please tell me about your experience with cpap.
I've been using the jackery 500 for awhile with my cpap and it's perfect! I let my neighbor use it for his camping with a cpap and he went and bought one too.
Has anyone dissected one yet? I'm curious to know if they are powered by 18650 batteries like Milwaukee and most vape mods or do they use the 21700? Not that it matters, just curious.
I have been looking at the Jackery 500, but wasn't willing to fork over $500 for it. The 15% off deal pushed me over the edge and I ordered one. I have a DC fridge for camping and a pellet smoker at home that requires 110 and got tired of running an extension cord so I'm curious to see how it does.
I just bought a Rockpal generator setup. I purchase a 20 ft wire for the solar panal w appropriate connectors. So I can bring generator closer to my electronics. You may still need extention cord for inside depending on situations. I found out the plugs are not standardized and had to return long wires. Order wires after u get generator and panals.
The Explorer 240 is great for charging my Harley Davidson battery. Plug my battery tender into it and had no problems at all.
***DONT BUY***Please hope somebody reads this comment and doesn’t mess up and buy one of these Jackery power banks their new ones that are available that are a quarter of the price and charge five times faster. The only downside is they weight is a little bit more if you’re doing any type of car camping, amd need to recharge it on the go and don’t want to sit somewhere for 5+ hours to charge one of these banks definitely look at something like EcoFlow
Love my baby jackery 160. I use it for tent camping to charge my fan, my water warmer, and my phone. Going to use it to warm me up a couple times next week with a 12 volt blanket. Highly recommend to everyone.
Which water warmer are you using? Did you get your blanket from Walmart? Please let us know how long and well it works.
@@secondact7151
I have had the coffee warmer for many years, only use it camping a few times a year. I have a jackery 160 and this warmer takes about 15 to 20 mins to get warmer. It will take about 10 percent of the 160. I plug it in, I go and get cleaned up, change clothes, and brush my teeth and by that time it's warm. Now what I do on my 2 to 4 day camping trips is make my coffee ahead and bring a big 40 ounce thermas of coffee and heat it up with the warmer. This is a similar brand from Amazon. Wagan EL6100 12 volt stainless steel 16 oz heated travel mug.
Wagan EL6100 12V Stainless Steel 16 oz Heated Travel
@@secondact7151
For the blanket, I have had it longer than the mug. What I do with it is turn it on (mine and the one I linked have to timer or gauge). I turn it on and it takes about 10 mins to heat up, and then turn It off. It takes about 15 percent of my jackery 160. I do this a couple or 3 times a night if I need it. If u have a sharpa blanket or wool blanket and wear 2 socks, some fleece pjs u will be good. The similar brand to the one I have is on Amazon at with this name. Stalwart 75-hblanket Electric Car Blanket- Heated 12
I tried to link to both products that are affordable - less than $35 for both as of right now. Hope these help.
Can you help? I need something to power up a 3 watt amp. I want to play guitar outdoors with my karaoke machine. Which one should I get? But, I don't want the 1000. Looks massive and I want to be able to fit the power supply in my book bag
Arrg! Missed the dates. 3 days only?!?
They are having a sale it ends today go to their website
Thanks. I ended up going non-portable for my van. 400ah Li, 3000 watt inverter, dc/dc charger. Solar in future. Thanks.
I appreciated your video. Straightforward, Factual, Concise. I looking to buy a Jackery unit. Ultimately I'll love to own the Explorer 1000 but that is above my budget level. At 70+ years old, I don't need much portable power when I'm van camping (fishing trips mostly). 370watt 12V or 450watt 12V Rice Cooker or RoadPro Wamer/Oven, an set of LED String Lights and a small USB Fan and my cell phone I'm GO TO GO. Would the Jackery 500 be able to handle those simple needs for a rainy day or an overnight trip? I love that Jackery is pretty much Plug and Play. No having to control it via a cell phone application. YOUR feedback would be most helpful and much appreciated. Thanks 😊!
Don't waste your money, I bought one and I was very upset, with self, that I didn't notice, that it wasn't waterproof ,, BEWARE,,,,buy something else Ladies,,,,,not worth the money, then I emailed the company, they informed me , with a email saying what what did you think it was ,, RUDE,,,,very unprofessional company.
How long does it take to charge these fully if they’re dead
Avoid Jackery. Nothing actually wrong with the products but they're overpriced and underperforming. For less than the Jackery 500 on sale I got the Ecoflow River Pro and it is better in absolutely every way. 40% more run time. 20+% more voltage output. Better screen. An app versus no app. Much faster charging. Double the solar input. For the same money Ecoflow just does more. A lot more. Jackery is a decent brand, they do what they say and they stand by their products but the price to performance is a joke.
I bought a Generac GP5500, It failed in less than 10 hours. Customer service did nothing despite it being a 100 percent design flaw. Seal failure allowed light rain to leak into the gas tank. rusted out. carburetor stuck open and leaked all over my truck. Cost $400 to replace. They don't care about their customers.
a bit of a sad review. All your doing is reciting their marketing material. Maybe if you actually used them, tested the output, looked at limitations of each, like not having pass through (being able to charge at the same time as delivering power). How well does the device provide the advertised capacity. How much run time do you actually get for a given device for example loads (Phone, Laptop, CPAP machine, Hair Drier :) ) Will Prowse remains the definitive guide to all things Portable power and Solar ...
I just bought the Jackery 160 via your affiliate link. I’ll keep it with me in red rover.
Those Jackerys are expensive. The 1000 watt Jackery holds about 46 amp hours. You can get a deep cycle marine battery that holds 200 amp hours for about the same price as the Jackery . 1000. Hooking up the deep cycle battery is more complicated you need an inverter, fuse and you need to understand the difference between a series and parallels connection but you get alot more power for you're money. 46 amp hours is plenty if you are spending an evening out with only basic camping supplies but if you are trying to live in you're Van 3 or 4 days a week like me and run a mini-fridge/laptop you need alot more than 46 amp hours.
Future nomad here. Can I ask you all: What if you don't have a home to charge your portable power station at? And what if you live where it's cloudy most of the time and so solar won't work? Is the only way to charge the power station, then, to charge it via your "generator", i e. the engine in your car? In that case, how long must you run your car's engine to charge the power station call the way up? 10 minutes? 5 hours? I have NO idea. Thank you!
Thanks. I just started to look into this and camp in my Yukon xl almost like yours and same color. I’m just concerned which one I need that runs a small heater+heated blanket and mattress pad+ phone and portable chargers, laptop, small fridge, and 32” tv😄 and do you think I need 100 watts solar panel or two.
What if, you need to run a Zero Breeze air conditioner, a fan, a 12v fridge and a mini-TV? What size Jackery do you recommend?
I used 240 Jackery for my Cpap machine - good for 2 nites of sleep at camping no issue I love the 240, easy to carry and portable
Charge so many times of small electronic
Mainly used for Cpap the 240 jackery
I wonder what went sideways with my experience. I bought the “500” and it says it would power a 12v fridge of 60 w for 37 hours. I didn’t find that to be true. On maiden journey out, after less then 16 hours I found it has less than 6% left running my 45 w 12v fridge.
And I had hoped to have had it recharging as I drove, but the plug came out , unbeknownst to me..😂 . It may be that I had the fridge on High the first night- I’m getting used to that too... but Jackery site Says 37 hours on a 60 w cooler....
Every claim like the one you listed has to have a disclaimer that "your mileage may vary". I mean, do the maths. 500w can only run a 60w appliance for 8.33hrs full bore so if they tested it and ran it for 37hrs there had to be a lot of fiddling... err, I mean optimizing. Your temp setting, the thermal mass of the contents and its initial temp and the initial temp in the fridge all influence the consumption of power, especially the number of times you open the fridge to take something out. I bet that's why Tristan suggested buying the next larger Jackery than you think you need as your mileage will vary from the idealized settings during testing.
@@oceandrew ya, I know that now. I liked the plug & play idea and taking a 12v fridge/ freezer... I need to find the rest of the story on how to work it , all together to work for me better. Wish Jackery had a trade in or more real life information. UA-camrs get us great ideas. I’m not great with electric equations
@@KG-cl9gv You may have better luck finding information on how to minimize the power draw from the fridge/freezer. I believe Tristan did get into that a bit when he first started plugging Jackery with his fridge set up.
@@oceandrew Thank you.

I've heard that when you want to use solar to charge these up you need an extra lead which isn't supplied with Jackery, could you tell me if this is right or not? Lots of folks saying that they had to order it after buying the power stations and the solar but no lead to plug into one another. I want the 250W so a solar connection would be ideal as I live in Spain where we have quite a lot of sunshine - thank you all in advance x
I just got a 500 . It s shows output power 6-9W when nothing is plugged in and output power buttons are on . Is that normal? Also it seems to get stock at 99% charge after being plugged for a while.
Anyone else has come across this?
Jackery 2000 is a scame I purchase online and never received the product. same tracking number to different address. Bad company would not refund my money. USPS said never delivered to my address and it was a scam
I have the small Jackery (smaller than the 240) for my home for when the electric goes out. I also take on road trips, even short one because one never knows. I'd like a bigger one and the solar panels but not affordable for me currently.
I need a 500 or even a 1000 Jackery 😁
Buyer's Beware, customer service is horrible, also (Jackery panels are not waterproof,) to be that's important, I should have investigated it a little deeper that was my fault.
Do the solar panels really work? And if so how well. Can you run and power at the same time?
I have a fridge raider iceco VL 60 Pro in case I get stuck I have a four wheel scooter 48 V four batteries and to amps I might charge my phone and my computer and I might buy a solar panel I don’t know 1 or two I know they got the 1500 is that too much for me I don’t know how to choose can you help me out thank you
Good info. It came handy i have this on my list to get me one!!
Now you tell me. I have diluted electrolyte car batteries and Lvyuan pure sine wave inverters. This saves labeled cables and makes power a lot more portable. No more golf cart batteries in a rowboat. No more counter full of Bestec inverters. This will even work in a cabin and with some of my solar panels.
i got the jackery 160 but wish i wouldve gotten the 240 instead.. that wouldve been perfect for my uses
Lmao this video is ridiculous. "I use this one to charge my phone cuz I don't know where the outlets are at my parents house." What a terrible sales pitch lol Does the video from the front seat of his car and never actually uses one in the video. Just listening to this guy try to put sentences together was making my IQ drop. Not sure how anyone can take this guy seriously
Is "Jackery" some sort of poor Chinese to English translation? Odd name.
I guess they aren't marketing these anymore, but I just bought a Honda By Jackery power station at Auto Zone. They don't even list it on their website anymore, but apparently the one I bought is similar to the 160 but has a 208Whr battery compared to 167 or so in the 160. Also it is red and black with Honda stamped on it. Cool little power station. Going to use it on my boat.
Just FYI…I got the JACKERY 240, and, it runs my cpap in remote locations without power, for 8 hours, PLUS my phone and tablet while I watch videos/surf the net several hrs before I turn on the cpap and go to sleep. At the end of the night, I still have 34-38 % ….then it takes 4-4.5 hrs to recharge at home in the wall outlet. Btw I use the 110v wall adapter for my cpap, as I haven’t purchased the car adapter yet, and the tech at JACKERY said I could save an additional 15% from the power conversion if I do use the car adapter to power my cpap!!! I’m VERY impressed!!
Linus Tech Tips gamed on the 1000 watt power station. He used a power hungry gaming PC and monitor, wasn't even fully charged. It lasted quite awhile.
You can always ad more batteries later. As u get more experienced. When u buy items for van. Look at watts and buy smaller wattage items. Yse more non electric items. Ex. Pour over coffee pots. Propane stove, led lighting etc.
Set it for plug into electric ability too! Like a teardrop.
Thank you for a great an honest review. I got the 1,000 and the 500 during there anniversary sale with two solar panels my only regret is not getting them sooner they are awesome especially during power outages a must have. New subscriber God Bless you.

Easy decision for me ... went with a 1000, because the smaller units won’t power some appliances. Notably, my coffee maker won’t run off the smaller units, so that was a non-starter for me.
Coffee maker. Look for pour over pots with boiling water for non electric coffee. Think low watt items for your camp gear.
Nice video, could you tell me which Jackery would give me the most nights camping with my Resmed air sense 10 c pap machine with the humidifier turn off? I think you'll say obviously the 1000 watt, but that's close to a $1000 dollars, UGH! THANK YOU

Unless your parents built a house that is in code violation....you know EXACTLY where outlets are (so do I for that matter) . They are the same place they are everywhere.
CODE determines placement.
All kidding aside tho....nice reviews.
OK cool, I'll just go look up the building codes cuz that's way easier. Lol. Thanks for watching.
Lmao!
Tristan, I do the same thing when I visit my parent. I hate digging behind the couch, which most times already have lamps plugged in, unplugging something already plugged and remembering to put it back when I leave, bringing extension cords or surge protector for more outlets, plus sitting out on their screened in porch to read my Kindle or watch a movie.
Weak reviews. How long do they take to charge on each one if plugged into car? Show testing appliances
Hmmm. Wonder if a 2000 is coming soon?
For teh 12 volt cigarette connection can you run a splitter on it and connect a fridge and diesel heater at the same time? How many amps can the cigarette lighter handle?
The jackery 500 is garbage I sent it back and still haven't got my money back
I am eager to buy a Jackery. Thanks for the helpful information.
Seems like a good product, but not so easy atainable in western europe,sadly..!
Shannon, good for you! you can afford all those new items. It’s a sale.
So I’m finding for the 500, I’m going to need more power...
More power equals more higher electronic device that uses high power electronic. And longer run time. The 300 suits me just perfect for everyday charging all my small electronic device. My next one will be the explorer 1500 watt for bigger appliances need as for now, the 300 is plenty enough for me.
what about a water Lily when you are in the shade ???
what is the largest jackery
How do you charge your jackery when you are driving? There a way to charge it via car cigarette socket?
Please don’t buy this product, they are so disappointing
note to viewers... the reviews start at 3:30
Thank you for the info. I am going camping and was wondering about a c pap machine.
Is this safe to charge a jackery via my Outback cigarette lighter?
when it comes to pricing this is over priced 400-500$ for 100w its a no for me.
My dad got the 1500w one and one 100w solar panel for about $2,000.00
what solar panels do you use?
I camp with a CPAP (Resmed S10) & a Jackery 240 and use a DC to DC adapter to reduce the power consumption of the CPAP (DC/DC is more efficient then DC/AC {outlet}) . 7 to 8 hours of use and the most I have used in one night was 40% of power with the humidifier off, heated hose off, and wifi off {plan mode}. Then I use a Rockpals 60W solar panel to top if off and I can go for days.
What do they weigh? Some people have lifting restrictions.
How about a George forman grill. Or a small rice cooker. Toaster
Get the 1000 watt for those appliances.
This is the best video on these jacqueries I have just started looking at these and was trying to decide which one I would want the 500 I might go for the thousand so I want to thank you for putting these videos out I hope jackery appreciate what you've done I will be looking forward in the spring to see the video that you'll be doing on the jackery 1000
