Started my soybean sprout project 3 days ago... They've sprouted about 1/2 an inch for now...
I'm learning patience too along with how nature works. I can't wait to see my sprouts all grown up with long legs like Miss. Korea !
Thank you for this video Maangchi.

I just started another bowl of soybeans to sprout, following your instructions of course! I have a pot of potato jjageuli simmering and some fresh rice and I can't wait to eat! I feel like Korean food is my soul food for some odd reason. It just warms my body and soul. As I think about it a memory popped up out of nowhere, that I haven't thought of in decades....my father was in the armed services and stationed in south Korea during the Korean war. As a child I remember him trying to teach me Korean, as he had befriended many Koreans in his time there. The only word I can remember, (I was only 4!) was the 1st word he taught me..kamsahamnida!! Isn't that funny that, that one memory surfaced?! Thank you for all of your wonderful videos and knowledge!

I harvested my first soybean sprouts. They came out great. I used my stainless 2-tier steamer pot with stainless lid (not glass) and watered 2-3 times a day. The top level I put mung bean sprouts and the bottom soybeans. Now I have 2 sprouts growing at the same time. Thank you for the video!

Hello Maangchi! When you put the black cloth on the beans, you say that the beans should be watered every three hours, 3:03
► Does this mean that we take the basket in the glass bowl and put it under the water from the sink ?
►No problem if beans are exposed to light when watered?
Thank you for your beautiful videos!

💐Maanchi , 🌾thank you for all your recipes and most of all your beautiful spirit. It is a pleasure to watch you cook in the kitchen because it motivates me to try different meals on my hubby. He is diabetic so it is important to be careful of what he ears at home and you make the yummyist with mouth watering and healthy food. I don’t know in what area you live but I hope you are safe from any of the fires here in CALIFORNIA. My stepsister and family were burned out of their home and their church is also burnt to the ground in Paradise. They are alive and safe and are praising God for their family and friends. I was looking to find your tutorial on how to make your strawberry jam yet haven’t found it yet. I would love to make cherry jam and pineapple and apricot jam. I am slightly afraid of trying to make it by myself because doing it wrong could have very bad consequences. May you be blessed and always be guided by God. 🌺🌸🌷

Hi guys! Submitted another English caption! I made some new additions!
    1. I added conversions to SI units in parenthesis for our international viewers!
    2. I added in-video text in brackets because I feel like those that can't read English are missing out on Maangchi's texts! Especially on her humor! Hehe. If there is a lot of text, then I've placed it in any available gaps between Maangchi's speaking, pause the video to read them!

Hi Maangchi, I followed your growing steps and my kongnamul had many problems. 1)Many of the yellow heads of kongnamul turned brown by Day 2. They continued to brown as I kept growing. 2)There was so much skin peel (kupp-jil) from the yellow heads on Day 2 through 4. I picked them out whenever I rinsed. Should I do that or leave them there? 3)My kongnamul did not grow to 2”. Maybe only about 1/4” They were very sad kongnamul. What did I do wrong? Thank you. Your kongnamul looks strong and tasty!!

Hydroponic videos led me to this. Great video! Very informative as well. I would like to try it this winter. My granny used to grow them in the winter time when I was a kid; so it seems to me it's some kind of winter food. My question is how often do you water them? You said every 3-4 hours; does it mean doing it for 5 days (until they are fully grown)? Maybe I should try out first. Hope the local Korean supermarket has the kind of beans. (Btw, I'm from NYC as well).
