    my grandma used to make this, 20kg a day and sell it in market. she use special basket made of bamboo, and use water from well, and use banana leaf for packaging. no plastic

    Barrels should cut open before. Small particles of plastics can get in the sprouted beans

    deally the water should be at room temperature - not too cold and not too hot. Then drain the water out of the holes in the lid, leaving the seeds damp but not swimming in water. Rinse the sprouts in water and drain. Try to avoid rinsing them in very cold water as this can slow the sprouting process.

    growing in water or hydroponics is quite easy once set up, but quite complicated to set up. you have to test the water constantly and add various nutrients. the danger is that some people think they can just grow in water.the water has to be constantly running in and out. when things like beansprouts are left in water too long or anything else for that matter, they grow bacteria and can get salmonella and other water born diseases and illnesses can occur from the food.

    Great video! I love bean sprouts and since i live in a small town in Alaska, it's hard to get them. I just bought a seed sprouting kit and am going to grow them myself

      make sure you completely change the water every single single day or you could kill yourself. rinse under clean running water . if you miss a day.chuck them .its easier to grow some more than it is to come back to life after your dead

      i don't know if i'm stupid or what but the water comes from the top all the way to the bottom multiple times a day so the water will be changed whatever ? right i'm new to that so i was wondering @@brendachew3769

    @3:00, video shows soaked beans being spread on woven bean trays directly, but @7:00 harvesting shows each bean tray lined with a material (cheesecloth?). Is this video from two different harvests or did the video skip a step transferring from open trays to lined ones?

    1:38 They are not "green beans". They are mung beans. You can find videos of many factories in Japan and China that make tons of bean sprouts a year.

    The angle grinder will contaminate the crop with plastic particles and toxic fumes.

    A lot of work preparing the drums.
    Bean sprouts are not cheap anymore if you have to prepare new drums for every batch because you need to cut them open for harvest. A lot of plastic waste, too.

      Yes you are right, and what's a waste. I would not cut the barrel but still can harvesting from the top to the bottom and reuse the barrel

      Usually soak in a warm water to make seeds grow faster. I never see soaking seeds in ice water before 😂

      Yes you can, they are made of bamboo or plastic. Just wash them well after each use. Any food grade perforated plastic tray can be used, as long as the beans don't fall through
