How do the cops that showed up not get an F when they failed to arrest 2 men who assaulted a man because of his race???
They should not be asking the victim what he was looking to have happen when two officers attacked him for being a minority.

Unfortunately, more likely he didn't want them coming after him on their own time.
I believe he's amazing, but he's also street smart. You don't make it in the US as an immigrant 14 years, w/o being quick and observant.
The police kept him on the ground while giggling with the power drunk, literally drunk, a-holes.
He saw the situation and guessed, probably correctly, that him trying to press charges wouldn't be supported, and would definitely end up with pain/ worse for him.

I also wish I could personally apologize to this man for the way he was treated by *everyone,* including every single officer that responded to the call.
*"Sit down! I didn't say you could stand up!"*
This is the 3rd time I've watched this footage, and I get madder every time.
I hadn't planned on watching this again, but I really respect how this channel is pretty damn unbiased, reads the actual law based on each case and its own jurisdiction.
Most channels that do this are extremely biased, whether it's pro-cop or anti-cop, and it gets spun and edited to fit their narrative.
It's shocking, to me, to see just how many people are incapable of seeing gray, that everything, in their view, is only black or white. "All cops are evil." "Every single courthouse in America is corrupted, along with all the judges, prosecutors, and defense attorneys." "The American justice system is the worst in the whole world." "All white people are bad." "All Black people are bad." "All Jews should be killed." "All people from the Middle East are terrorists." "All gay people are pedophiles." etc., etc., you get my drift.
How are these types of people able to navigate their lives on a daily basis thinking in such extremes?!
Anyway, like I said, I wish I could give this guy a hug and apologize for everyone involved that night. None of them, even by the end, seem ashamed or embarrassed in the least.

You have an immigrant her legally for 14 years, gainfully employed as a truck driver. Having driven from Texas up to Ohio for his company in his company's truck, he moteling it for the weekend, till Monday. The truck is locked up at the company, and he decides to walk over, buy a beer, and relax in front of the tube at the local watering hole. When are federal heroes being thoroughly smashed decided it was time to bring the weight of the federal justice system against our obvious criminal mastermind disguised as a 40 year old truck driver from Ethiopia with fair English skills and a heavy accent!
Leaping to a final outcome. Obviously, qualified immunity should be out the windows. It was a given that the locals didn't want to do anything but make this fiasco go away. Asking our victim what kind of outcome he was looking for was nothing but a way to subvert the law and protect the blue line.
What should happen is these clowns should be terminated from their federal positions, lose their certifications, and serve a couple years in federal prison for assault, kidnapping, and violation of numerous constitutional amendments, and forfeit their pensions to their victim.

That truck driver is incredible. He was a refugee from Eritrea - a country with one of the worst human rights records and an incredibly corrupt government so he's probably been through absolute hell getting to the US. He drives around the country and seems to love meeting and connecting with people on his stops. His attempts at befriending these men are met with racism and violence and even so he chooses kindness and doesn't press charges. I wish he were a citizen in my country. I once told him I'd love to migrate to America someday, and he welcomed me to stay with him and his family until I got used to things around. But after seeing many videos like this one, as well as corrupt and tyrant cops, I actually fear for my life and don't ever want to go there anymore. I wish Matt and I never lost contact, I hope his colon cancer got better, and I hope he didn't or doesn't blow his brains out with his shotgun because of some of the sheer misery with his sickness and gf problems he has going on at the time. If a drunk person were to drag him out of that bar and put him on that ground, they would be arrested, however, the only variable that I can determine here is that they had badges. Badges DO NOT grant extra rights. These "officers" are the worst kind -- they're ticking time-bombs. Yes, we have a massive illegal immigration issue here in the US right now, but trying to take on that issue at a small-town bar, while intoxicated, with ZERO evidence (much less the authority to do so) is NOT a correct or healthy way to go about it.

As the commenter above you stated it could appear as though at least one of the uniformed officers tried to reduce the likelihood that the civilian would bring civil and criminal charges against the intoxicated officers. It's possible that the repeated question of what outcome the civilian wanted was an attempt to push for charges against the off duty officers.
