Hire stupid officers, get stupid lawsuits. I used to be a cop and those two idiots jumped the gun big time. Young, cocky and stupid..."Will you shut up"? Such professionalism.
They hire stupid officers on purpose. Its very well documented. Reason being, the dept wants the officers to do illegal things and push when they should leave

What smart person, without a narcissistic personality disorder or psychopathy that they want to exercise would wish to become a police officer, given the systemic corruption, though?

Finally bad cops are stripped of their qualified immunity. Those cops just lost everything they own. Well done to that judge. A rare good judge.
It's too bad they lost absolutely nothing. Both of these cops are going to stay employed at their station, if anything they just got a week paid vacation for their "training" after the lawsuit goes through. They're going to pay for the lawsuit with tax money . Nothing will leave their pockets.
The law says “Ignorance is no excuse” when it come to us breaking a law we did not know was illegal. But at the same time cops get “Qualified Immunity” when they claim they had no idea it wasn’t illegal arrest someone for not giving ID. Two sets of rules, one for us, the opposite for them.
I remember a deputy in my parish stopping a 15yo intoxicated female who was walking the roads at night. Instead of getting ahold to her guardian, he took her to his house and slept with her. The Livingston Parish Sheriff Office gave the deputy the most horrible punishment a Louisiana law enforcement officer can get.... They fired him.
Why is ignorance of the law not an excuse that a citizen can use but an ignorant police officer gets a pass?
Still a thing in Italy
Qualified immunity is only able to stand as long as police officers aren't properly educated. The establishment of a regulated education system, whereas officers are required to know the law would dissolve the need for Qualified Immunity.
Because they are agents of the State. They only serve the public as a very distant second. Their loyalty always has been and will always will be with the State.

Why do people try to talk their way out of an arrest? Be quiet; say nothing except "lawyer". The police don't hear you; they never will.
I would guess that most people do not even know a lawyer and if they do know one, they might not be able to afford one. You are only entitled to a court appointed lawyer once you have been charged as far as I know, and lawyers are quite costly. I might be wrong, I am not American, but I guess if you could request a free lawyer so early in the process, everyone would.

Had to have that fix... 😢😢😢
The old "I got a call" ruse. As if the moment someone makes a phone call about you, your rights disappear.
Why is everyone (90%) so obtuse on this channel, people call because they have a concern police investigate and figure out if indeed there is a problem or if there is not, and then if nothing is wrong they leave. In this situation the officers had to confirm that they were allowed to be working on the car, the Son understood that gave his ID, the Father wanted to act smart for some reason until he was threatened with arrest and the complied like a scared dog.
Just because someone makes a phone call doesn't mean (1) their call is legit or truthful and (2) the cops get to violate your 4th A rights while they do a supposed investigation. Automatically putting people in handcuffs while they investigate shouldn't be allowed either. If cops are going to put someone in handcuffs, there better be an arrestable offense. Someone working on a car isn't against the law, so detainment in handcuffs should be considered a kidnapping.
@@buckeyenative1365the cops were legally entitled to verbal ID. They broke the law when they demanded driver's license and arrested him for not producing it.
It thier job to investigate, these 2 couldn't investigate a McDonald's menu.
@@sackeshithey need to investigate, rather than showing up with a predetermination of guilt . She should have called like the guy was saying, and discussed with the security guard.
Also, that lady who owns the car should have let security know her car was going to be there after hours and that someone would be coming to fix it.
@@dougaltolan3017They aren’t even entitled to an ID. The did not have Reasonable Articulable Suspicion of a Crime, even with the call about it.
They had perhaps an Articulable Suspicion of a Crime. But it was not Reasonable. And they made zero attempt to address that lack of Reasonableness. Those men gave an adequate explanation, and their behavior was not consistent with criminality. Further dispelling Reasonableness and Articulableness.
They could have attempted to investigate further in order to determine if they were or were not actually working at the request of the Owner. Instead. They attempted to immediately demand ID. Which they did not yet have the appropriate level of Evidence for. Then upon just refusal, they went to Arrest. Which requires actual Probable Cause, which is a higher standard. Which they had nothing approaching, and made zero attempt to obtain either. Instead they began with Obstruction, which is only applied after either RAS or Probable Cause is obtained. Then further more than mere failure to obey immediately. Or even mere Passive Resistance while attempting to discuss the Investigation at hand.
Under no Rubric of Lawful and Constitutional Use of Force are they Justified. Pretty straightforward if you know the Law as it Stands, and why it exists as it does.
The 1st judge that attempted to let those criminals off need to be permanently removed from the bench, barred from holding any government job and personally held liable in the lawsuit along with the other criminals! If true accountability started happening across the board at every level, the system would be cleaned up in no time 🤦🏾
Contempt of Cop. Yep. Nailed it.
Good analysis. Can you make similar videos on unethical conduct by judges ?
“He’s going to jail for obstructing an investigation.”
The public is under absolutely no obligation to assist with their investigation, and that is now a jailable offense. Don’t forget about the constitution
Yes but there is a difference between assisting and obstructing. You don’t have to assist but you can’t obstruct.
@@mike73ng The cop had no right to demand ID, exercising your rights is not obstructing
Not giving an ID when you aren't required to give ID is obviously not obstructing. Did you hear the federal circuit court ruling?@@mike73ng
@@DellikkilleD nobody is arguing that.
@mike73ng that's just it though, there was no obstruction. She is free to conduct her investigation. He didn't make an attempt to stop her or obstruct her ability to do her job within its clear mandate.
Funny how there's so many times people get arrested, but charges are dropped, but then the department still defends the arresting officer(s)'s actions
EVERYONE NEEDS TO HAVE A CAMERA!!!
The District Court Judge should also get an F for not knowing clearly established constitutional law and his uneducated interpretation. They were just protecting the local officers at the expense of an innocent man.
*WHAT ABOUT* the 'security guard' who observed this, and instead of doing their job and going over to see what's up - decides to call the cops while quaking in their boots in some nearby building.
@@elrey8876 he was busy ordering door dash for his special security donuts
@@elrey8876 Actually, security guards should only 'observe and report'. They should not confront.
The judge wasn't involved in the police encounter.
@@perryelyod4870 they can absolutely inquiry within the compound. What about observe and report to management? even if its late. Maybe management knew about the car broken down. To me, the guard was either tied by policy or plain lazy.
