    Hi friends, today's adventure is making our own Turkey Jerky from ground turkey. This is just another way to utilize what you have and preserve it by making it shelf-stable. Any hints or tricks of the trade please feel free to leave them in the comments. Thanks for watching and God Bless!

    Marinade for 1 1/2 pounds of meat:
    1/3 C Soy sauce (Liquid Aminos)
    1/3 C Worcestershire Sauce
    1 T Maple Syrup or Honey (Optional)
    4 Dashes Liquid Smoke (I used Hickory)
    3 Turns of Peppermill
    Dash of salt (Redmond's is my fav)
    Dash of Red Pepper Flakes (Optional)
    1/2 tsp Onion Powder
    1/4 tsp Ground Ginger (Optional)
    1/4 tsp Ground Turmeric (Optional)
    1/4 tsp Ground Mustard (Optional)
    2 Dashes of Paprika
    *Mix wet ingredients first, add meat, and marinate overnight.

    Looks super delicious, because it’s poultry, I would have the temperature up to 165 F. My dehydrator only goes up to 158F, so after 4 hours I take the jerky out of the dehydrator and transfer it to a cookies sheet and place in the oven for 12 min at 200F to make sure all the little germs are gone, then it goes back in the dehydrator for 4-5 more hours. Placing it in the oven also helps decrease the dehydration time.

    So you vacuum seal it...and then just leave it in the cupboard or do you freeze it long term?
