@@JonnaMartinezCrochet ur welcome. I’m gonna try it. I really want to make easy scarfs and fast even for a beginner. I’d like to bring them to my oncologist office for people just starting chemo. Hi. I am teaching a friend to crochet and we've made a cowl using two strands of Caron simply soft (aran) and a 9mm hook. As we have some yarn left over, I was wondering if we could use the same to make this hat. What do you think?
My friend shared this tutorial with me, I was stubborn and just went straight to the pattern. Glad I came back and watched the video, made much more sense! Thank you! It's a lovely pattern!
I am new to crochet within the last year. I have watched dozens of tutorials and this is my favorite. Additionally, I LOVE the decrease method at the top of the hat. It’s my first time making a hat like this and it’s brilliant! Please make more videos and thank you so much!! 💗
I was able to follow your tutorial after 2 days of crocheting. This is perfect for the beginner! I chose the same yarn as you did, and it was pretty easy to work with. Thank you for showing me my first crochet project!
I didn't realize that commenting helps content providers... I'll comment more often. Both Jonna's explanations and her video of the process she used to make this hat are beautifully clear. Thank you!
You are an awesome teacher! I've spent the evening looking at bennie making videos and you are the only one I've found who actually goes slow for beginners and explain/ show exactly which stitch to work into.
Thank you for this pattern. My daughter-in-law purchased it for me because I am terrible at reading patterns and it takes me many tries to work it out and get it right. This pattern is easy enough even for me. I hope lots of other people enjoy, making this particular hat and that they purchase your pattern. Keep you on UA-cam.
I’m so happy to hear this Julie. I work really hard to get my patterns to work for most people and it’s super that it worked for you. Thank you for watching and commenting. Enjoy making hats!
I just started trying to learn crocheting. I've watched alot of UA-cam videos, then pause them, until I'd get caught up. I messed up alot at first, but I'm getting better. I really appreciated how you explained slowly and showed what stitch to go into, that sometimes had me confused. Thank You for taking the time to teach how to crochet.
I just finished my beanie. I cannot thank you enough for this video! You were incredibly detailed, thorough, and you explained every instruction perfectly. This project is for my grandma and she will be so touched. Thank you again!
An excellent tutorial. I have very low vision and poor hearing. I find most tutorials difficult, but these instructions were as clear as a bell. The simple method of construction is perfect for me Thank you for your time and patience. ❤
This is awesome! Good for you. You definitely have crochet talent if this is your first project. Thank you so much for choosing my tutorial!! And for leaving a comment.
What a wonderful clear concise video. Thank you for using easily viewed yarn, and a nice big crochet hook. I personally dislike the wad of knitted fabric you get on the top of your head with a rectangle hat. This is gorgeous. So well done.
I also want to add that I appreciate you pointing out which v-stitch to crochet into. I was trying a different video and it took me a couple of times of frogging to figure out which one to use. Thank you again! 😊
thank you, i try so many time to do it on my self but it was castatrofal, now i understand everything but still keep your video, thanks from Belgium xx
Wow, amazing, I don't know how to crochet and admire your beautiful work. We used to learn to crochet in middle school in S. Korea but my personality cannot make a good one. I always do it too tight and the final project was gloves and mine came out a child's very tight gloves so my mom did it for me in a few hours. Otherwise I would have failed it. After that I never tried. 😁😅
Thank you so much for watching even though you don’t crochet anymore ❤️ that’s amazing you actually made something when you did crochet and very wonderful of your mom to help you out😍
This is an amazing tutorial. I have been wanting to make some but I don't like using the little ring things to make beanies. I will be using this video thank you so much!!
An amazing teacher easy to follow and a great hat,Ive never seen a hat crocheted this way at first I thought I did something wrong at the narrow end. I love this pattern. God bless & merry Christmas 🎄
This is for head size 22”. Be sure to measure hit head first! You want the hat to be about one inch smaller than the head it is intended for. Thank you for watching and commenting! Good luck with your hat❤️
Thank u very much,i have watched many videos and my work didn't be the same,u r the only one that my work ist little typical u r a great teacher and u r explain things very nice💗
Repeat rows 3 and 4 means repeat all of Row 3 (slips stitch in first 3 stitches back loop only , single crochet back loop only in the next 3, half double crochet back loop only the remaining stitches) Then Row 4 ( slip stitch in back loop only every stitch) Alternate between row 3 and 4 until you have 41 rows ( or 21 inches)
Is it possible to adapt this to a different type of yarn? I have a skein of thinner yarn that I really want to use but not sure what to do for the decreasing part. This is the best tutorial I've ever seen, thank you for all the time and thought you put into it!

When it says “repeat row 3&4 until you have 41 rows of 21 inches (53cm)” do I do the same thing that we did again and again or just do a slip stich?
Repeat rows 3 and 4 means repeat all of Row 3 (slips stitch in first 3 stitches back loop only , single crochet back loop only in the next 3, half double crochet back loop only the remaining stitches)
Then
Row 4 ( slip stitch in back loop only every stitch)
Alternate between row 3 and 4 until you have 41 rows ( or 21 inches)
