- I have been a fan of this song for the past three years and with that Doom map causing a resurgence, I thought it's finally time for me to make an unofficial music video for it.
Obviously, the true lyrics in this song are widely debated, so the ones appearing in this video are the ones I personally felt worked the best. However, it's highly likely there are some mistakes.

I have proven to have heard this song like 10 times already. How many times do I have to repeat the same response until you let the water flow out of the tap??
Like when I say I used 'old roblox' people say no I haven't or when I say I used old flash websites from 2008-2011. "They're a long way away in the subways of your mind," is what the lyrics are generally accepted to be. I've never even heard this interpretation of the lyrics before. Also, several parts of the lyrics in this video are just blatantly incorrect. We can place a degree of trust in ourselves without knowing what the lyrics are, and it's quite obvious that what we hear does not match up with what the lyrics are claimed to be. Again, I have no clue why you want to believe this interpretation so much, but it's just not what I hear. And I have listened to the song many times.

somethings i would like to clarify with the lyrics is that the lyrics are widely disputed, so here’s a list of the lyrics that are disputed.
“you came running” is also heard as “you came here running”.
“Check it in, check it out” is sometimes heard as “tear it in, tear it out” by some people.
“In the subways of your mind” Is sometimes heard as “subway” instead of “subways”, and whilst this is disputed which one is actually said both are arguably correct.
“let us follow you” is heard by a lot of people to be unintelligible, which i can agree on. It’s kinda hard to understand what the singer is saying there.
“there’s no place” is also heard as “there’s no space”. Both are agreed on.
“It’s the somber truth” and “it’s the somber blue” has many miss-hearings, such as “it’s the summer blues”, “it’s the somber blues”, and “it’s the summer truth.”.
“let it in, let it out” is also misheard as “tear it in, tear it out”.
“live it in, live it out” also has the exact same miss-hearing issues.

I was DJ at B52 M.Gladbach from 1983-85. I'm almost sure that it was produced by NDR3 Radio, they played it just before Camouflage was created, Marcus Meyn sang (you can also clearly hear that it's his old voice). The rights stayed with the NDR and so it happened that this song was never in the camouflage playlist. Marcus or the band members at that time should be able to confirm that if you asked them.
Your comment made me google MArcus, I've never heard him before, and to be honest, I don't think the singer on this track and him sound totally the same, on this the singer sounds much more like a guy who smokes 3 packs a day... way more gravel to the voice, but of course theres the possibility that when this recording was made he may have had a bad throat / flu :)

One of my favorite songs
I honestly think part of the magic of this song is just *how many* different lyrics people have managed to interpret. Virtually every single video I've seen has had a completely unique interpretation of them, and yet...they all seem to fit the vocals. They all have different moods and messages for the song. Things ranging from optimism over lost love, to somber morning of poor decisions, to nihilistic expectations of the world.
