No entiendo por qué ahora desprecian su cover cuando antes, todos amábamos ésta versión sin saber si algún día sabríamos si la canción original sería dada a conocer. Lo llaman _"estafador"_ y entre muchas cosas más y pocos son los que le agradecen el haber hecho éste cover con lo poco (y casi nada) de material que había diaponible. Yes, it's good that the original song is found, but still Richardvox's remix (it's not a cover since some parts are different) was a great placeholder for those who wanna experience how the full song was like. Thus, he still deserved honor.

I always thought that calling this richardvoz's work a 'cover' was too inadequate, I guess for the situation you are talking about, it is called a remix, even if I don't know if that took the factor of a reinterpretation I would imagine it could be (when the original was not available).
It'd only be a remix if it was created by remixing the original. As it is, it is a cover, as it's an artist recording their own version of a song from elsewhere. It doesn't have to be a perfect sound-alike for it to be a cover.

I don't know what it is, maybe the naturally weird nature of the movie or the mystery around the song, probably a mix of those things, but there's something that just makes this feel totally dreamy. Like those dreams so vivid you end up mixing them up with reality. I'm not totally sure if I want the real full version to be found since there's a certain magic to it being so mysterious, but I'd really like to know the band and listen to more of their songs.

My theory is that Richard is the original singer, but is unable to claim it as such due to copyright issues or contract restrictions. The reason his voice is different is because it's been over 20 years, and voices change--including accents; plus the old recording is very poor in quality to begin with, so its to be expected that we don't get a completely accurate representation of the singers voice; but from what we can hear, his voice just sounds so uncanny to the original singer that I find it hard to believe anything else.
Whether I'm wrong or not, I think we all can agree that this version is very well done!

La voz de Ricardo y la del cantante perdido son muy parecidas, sobre todo si tomamos en cuenta que esta ya es una versión más de estudio y que la versión original puede tener bastantes años de existencia. Se nota que le ha puesto esmero al inglés.

Siendo sincero, creo que esta versión es mejor que la original, no tanto por la letra o ritmo, sino por la voz del vocalista
