The version sent by FEX is much higher quality. I don't mean the audio quality, I mean the production quality. Sounds more dynamic, more professional. That tells me this is no unsuccessful band, they have some level of success in their local area. Not every band craved for fame, and not every band did it to bewitch millions of fans. It occurs me they've mostly been playing in local pubs and private events in their local area. Gradually they've grown up and stopped playing together, but kept in touch. Eventually forgot they've sent a demo to NDR2 that was aired, but still kept their demo tape. They know how to make music, and they know how to make it well. I guess they've been thrilled to get back together after 40 years.
A well-put thought. And to add to your last sentence, I can tell they were also happily surprised to see how one of their songs got so popular on the internet without them knowing it.
They didn't forget they sent a tape to NDR2. Their management did and they didn't know they were broadcasted at a German radio station AT ALL. It came as a surprise to them when they were told that someone recorded it back at NDR2. Also, the version from NDR2 is the radio version their management produced for them. I think the management also paid for the studio. So there were some efforts to get them to fame from their agents - but it just didn't work out. The version from the FEX tape is an earlier demo recording (so the other way round). The reason it sounds better is that the FEX demo tape was also recorded professionally and is a direct recording. If I'm not mistaken, the FEX version also doesn't include the DX2 (as Michael didn't have it, yet), while the NDR2 radio version was recorded later and does have it. The live version includes both.
to add to @basti0007 - another reason the demo tape sounds better than the studio version (which was the one Darius recorded) is because frankly it was being broadcast and then recorded again. There's def quality loss there and the age of the tape can contribute to wear and tear, especially if its played a lot. FEX said that they haven't been able to find the 1/4in reel-to-reel tape containing that master, a copy of it was sent to NDR but it may be gone now, despite NDR insisting they archive everything. The NDR archivist folks have been in contact with has said this, hopefully now that we have names she may be able to dig up a copy, or FEX themselves maybe find another cassette copy of it.
Oh i just used a program called audacity, it's free. i changed the pitch of the new version. and then i did the best i could to synchronize it with the old by spliting it (the new) in differente sections to make it easier. (sorry if my english is bad)
I don't know why but the OG radio version sounds more English The lyrics actually say good excuse but I hear "it's believe in you" ig from thr bad quality of radio
@@ReverseMunki Maybe. I always heard "it's a real excuse" on the og radio version, and to be honest I like it more. Also, while I like the new version as well, I'd listen to HQ og radio version, but the remasters is what we have so far (ig that's better than nothing)

Bro is spitting FEX 😅
Happiness is to be fought for
We found the definitive version
Hearing the old one with the new one's bassline is amazing!
I'm so happy that it was found! It's like finding your old childhood friend that you have missed them since.

I want this to be the basis for the re-recording!

Absolutely

2:46 “Tear it in, tear it out, it’s a grill excuse 🍗🥀🔥”
This song is an absolute banger
Yeah, now that’s quite the mashup for something once so mysterious.!.!
Worth the four years:)
с 2008 года как бы искали. Около 17 лет.
Worth the forty years :)
Enfin retrouvé. J'adore cette musique
What an excellent mashup! This is definitely one of the best versions of this song I've ever heard! Great job!
Now you know the difference between the old one and the new one.
Nice version, i love this song
Literally listened to this as my Windows XP system got corrupted.
