/ lukrembo These are the MOST WILD My 600-lb Life Moments!
My 600-lb Life is a reality television series that has aired on the TLC television network since 2012. Each episode follows a year in the life of morbidly obese individuals, who begin the episode weighing at least 490 pounds (220 kg), and documents their attempts to reduce their weight to a healthy level. Update episodes, called "Where Are They Now?", feature one or more previous patients, picking up a year or more after their original episodes aired.
Patients are placed under the care of Iranian-American Houston surgeon Younan Nowzaradan (often referred to as simply "Dr. Now"), who first has them attempt losing weight on their own by following a strict diet, and then depending on the patient's progress may offer gastric bypass surgery or sleeve gastrectomy to further assist in weight loss.[1]
The craziest thing about this show (or saddest) is that there are enough people in this condition to make a series about it
Sadly that’s a very good point 😞
I always thought the same thing
Yes, I'm shocked there are so many super morbidly obese people.
Dad yeah they are on season 11 I think now?? How depressing
Dad yeah I am pretty sure no one weighed this much 200 years ago, not even one person, maybe technology has a down side😟
Cillius was my all time favorite. A true gentleman stuck in a flesh prison. They gave him the tools and he never looked back. He deserved his beautiful wife and daughters, glad to hear he's doing good.
Wait a sec, those were not even his kids right?
There's no Cillius on this show.
@@marilynwillett804 its Cillas* it’s just A typo
I’m glad dr now had christina gain some weight she started to look pretty hollow. It shows he cares about health as a whole not just weight loss.
Isabelle Vasquez it would be easy to change from one eating disorder (binge eating) to another (bulimia or anorexia). They serve the same purpose (control, comfort) but have opposite mechanisms. It’s quite common after weight loss surgery.
@ 186lbs the hollows are just because she lost so much face fat
I was just about to make this comment before taking a look and finding yours. A lot of people in the healthcare system can show a generalised fatphobia and skinny positivity mindset, which I imagine is because they see more people suffering from their high weight in their job, while fewer people with low weight end up in hospitals for the physical symptoms of their problem. They can be especially rigid about following BMI standards (which should not be followed as a sole indicator of your weight) and I've read horror stories of doctors and nurses who advise that children lose large amounts of weight when they are at ages where a little extra padding is often a benefit, such as infancy, toddlerhood, and puberty. That one extra size on the label of your jeans can be crucial to your health in some cases.
I had gastric bypass surgery in 2009, I am 5 foot 7 inches tall, my weight got down to 115 pounds, which is way too thin. I weigh 140 now, which is just right! 🤗 I have more muscle, I've had a tummy tuck and I am a nice size 6-8. And mostly I have energy!!
@@Apryll. i thought that was the case but she could be native american because of her check bones dark thick hair 🤷 she was underweight also
Amberlynn Reid on UA-cam desperately needs to be on this show.
Abby Abby why? She will quit in 2 days and will blame the program or Dr Now 😒😒
@@nathalyrumbodedeycaza1128 yes she will. She's been offered so much help, but she says she knows what's best for her. Lol. She also says 2500mto 3000 is the lowest her calories should be. Dr now has them on 1200 down to even 800 depending on the person and their condition.
Yep 💔
Yeah
“at 18 she got her first lymphadema and that’s when it got bad” amberlynn just got hers..
being obese has always been a major fear of mine
the health issues that can develop, lack of mobility and independence
yikes
alysiaa *dependency
I’d rather be obese than have conditions are aren’t researched. With obesity, you know what happens.. if that makes sense
Like my friend has SCADs. That’s one of the worse heart conditions, and causes heart attacks in athletes or just healthy people.
It is more deadly than obesity related heart issues (by case fatality rate) and it’s not extremely rare but it’s kinda rare yet you’ve probably never heard of it.
Athletes and heart issues are also common in other areas, yet is not really talked about
Things that come from obesity are just more researched and talked about
Well I’m obese but not morbidly obese like this. I lost some weight but I’m still 39 or 38 pounds overweight.
Mel B Keep up the good work!
Breanne Dixon I don’t think he’s comparing any conditions or minimizing others
Melissa is a very dear friend. She’s absolutely as sweet and kind as she seems. Btw, yes, she does do motivational speaking, but she’s back working with Dr. Nowzarden! She’s amazing.
Aww that's great. I always liked her.
she's so pretty too 😍😭
She was such a nice person. Really glad she’s had a positive experience. X
Tell her hi. And we’re all so proud of her. Hope she’s still doing well.
last i saw shes back up around 275.
Amberlynn looks like a lot of these people it’s really sad
chu chu honestly though and she’s honestly not a good person
Its wild that so many people know about her now
She's not quite their size yet, but she's making money off it, so she won't change. She's currently claiming she lost 70+lbs but doesn't look any different.
ASMR and Healthy Living She did lose 70+ pounds. But being her size you’re not gonna see much difference unless she loses a lot more weight.
But our gorl is so dainty (sarcasm) and I don’t feel bad for her but she did already admitted she had a body thing where she sees herself much smaller than she is 😖
Christina is literally one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever seen, her cheek bones are so pronounced 😭❤️
Ben Dover Agreed. She’s absolutely beautiful and I’m glad she left her husband.
I’m so proud of her!
I love seeing success stories.
Yeah. Makes me feel like I lose my weight
go to hell and wait, nice
Me too
I feel so proud seeing them after they've lost so much weight!
@@themoribundapathetic4530 lmfao
I’ve talked to Christina before on social media and she’s such a sweet and kind person.
I love Dr. Nowzaradan, he is one of the best doctors ever.
Doctor Now out here doing the Lords work 😩😂
I love that he is also respectful and never bullies his patients!
JevvoBruv you don’t know that, and nobody else does either. No proof for it or against it.
@JevvoBruv He really hasn't, because most people are worshipping the same God, just in different ways. Also why be an ass and try to discourage someone else's faith?! You're not a very nice person.
He’s awesome!
@@mtn7836 the foolish man says there is no God.
wow people really carry their weight differently
yup. Some peoples faces looks swollen cuz they get fat in the face but then others have still a normal face. And for some people it's like all the tummy but for others the fat goes to the hips+rump so they become pear shaped. Body-types is a real thing I'm myself pear-shaped with not much fat on the face or tummy.
Christina’s mom *was the best parent on the show* when she told Christina “you’re not a burden, you’re my pride and joy” I just LOVED her 👍🏿❤️👍🏿👍🏿
People don't understand what being molested is often tied to wanting protection.
The doctor actually encouraged her to gain weight..............now that is a wild moment.
I'm glad he addressed it. Its not uncommon for people to trade one addiction for another.
And she had already been hospitalized at a much higher weight because she stopped eating and fainted, so I'm wondering if she actually gained the 15lbs. They only say he adviced her, not if she followed the advice. Wouldn't be surprised if she wanted to lose more.
Yeah….the shows producers forced these people to eat just to boost the ratings. Yeah….okay.
All these women have a man in their lives
Many are there to use them for their SSI, they don't work and can't even drive.
@@justdevine864 😂😂😂😂
Lol right
So you people don't believe that they deserve real love and just thin people do. Pathetic.
TheKennieisa10 *he never said that...*
Man, I would have retired a long time ago. Dr. Now is a good dude. He definitely doesn't need to be doing this
He seems to be a great man. He wants to continue working and if you don't continue doing something, you lose relevance.
@Chris 1992 So everyone who retires at 65 is lazy and has weak willpower? Sounds legit 🙄
I’m sorry but LaShonta (however you spell her name) she annoyed me so muchhhhh. Her voice and the constant “give me another chance, give me another chance, give me another chance” Nooo, if you really wanted to lose weight, you would’ve done it! Ugh...
_babygirl_ her voice made me want to shoot myself

I grew up in the 70s.....I really don't remember seeing people this big. Even the kids today are bigger than we were growing up. I wish health to all.
In 1985, 200-pound people were an unusual sight, and I had no idea that 300 pounds was even possible. It seems like 200 pounds is the new 175 pounds, and 300 is the new 200. It's making me dizzy how fast this obesity epidemic keeps accelerating.
They were stuck in the house and there were no TV shows like this
When they are mean to their caregiver, they are in pain, humiliated and embarrassed. Can you imagine needing help with toileting, bathing and dressing?
Asa Faust
That’s no excuse dummy!
Yeah but other people shouldn’t suffer because they made bad decisions. That excuse doesn’t work when its self inflicted
They are usually mean to their caregivers when their caregivers refuse to bring them the unhealthy masses of food they demand. I wouldn't do it. As Dr. Nowzaradan says:" Let them get angry and shout at you." He's right.
I've been there. I profusely thanked these people not yelled and cursed at them.
As a caregiver, while it hurts your feelings sometimes we know exactly why they're doing it. They are in pain, embarrassed and angry at themselves. They take it out on us but we have nothing to do with it. We know that. We don't do our job to be thanked we do it because they are people in extremely vulnerable positions that need help. It is what it is.
Nikki was my favorite. She is so kind, smart, pretty, classy and funny. Plus, she never once tried to blame others for her situation and I think that is why she was so successful. She took control of her life and won every struggle. ❤️
Gluttony is not attractive and often bleeds into your personality. I'm proud of those that get out of the trap.
I just got to my heaviest 200 pounds , I really feel heavy and starting gym ASAP 😭🙆🏽♀️
I’m 130 I’m trying to lose too! ;-; (I’m 5ft)
I hope you are doing well! I recently also just hit my heaviest as a result of having to take medication and being in the hospital. As much as I want to just work out like crazy Im taking simple steps to help me lose weight slower but it will stay away. I hope you do the same! Its about healthy changes and not all about the numbers
130? Your skinny enough
Mel B The doctor said I should be around 110-120 so I don’t need to lose too much plus I’m 123 so I’m not really worrying about weight anymore
Keep at it! Food actually makes more of A difference on people’s weight than exercise a lot of times. It’s all calories in and calories out so you can do it!! Good luck 👍
Some dont deserve help others i feel really sorry for.
Howzer The man “deserve” is a dangerous word we like to throw around. I understand what you mean but I think whether or not someone deserves something to offer help is always admirable and loving and kind, however there comes a point where if you’re working harder than they are for them then you have to separate yourself and leave them to themselves and not out of malice but out of love. Some people are so accustomed to a type of help they forget how to encourage or motivate their self. I feel like to use words like “deserve” only invites shame which is always unproductive and damaging

I had no idea Pauline Potter had lost so much weight. I'd heard of her even before the show and her case seemed so hopeless. Glad to see that she finally turned things around for herself and her son.
The 'feeders' are to blame! "If you want a Mac' go get it yourself"!
sometimes we forget just how skinny our bones are. its scary to think they can even move with so much weight on them 😓
There was an 1000lb man who could move on his own in the 50’s and he lived independently
It’s always great seeing them after they’ve lost all that weight. Christina could be a model!
Sadly there’s anorexia rumors around her. Hope it’s not true, but it’s kinda common
Yeah, no she could not be no damn model. Get your eyes checked.
@Brax Doesn't make her a model.
Whose christina
omg yessss her cheekbones are AMAZING!
5 foot 1
600lbs
Wow
Man 😧
I’m 5’1 my heaviest was 290lbs I’ve lost 60lbs and I’m STILL miserable. I don’t understand how they can be that short and that much and still functioning. Above 240lb I get winded doing ANYTHING!
Bruh WHAT I’m 5’7 122 pounds and still feel so fat :O this is insane
LizDoodles you’re underweight sis
LizDoodles Um yeah chief you should gain weight not lose weight it’s probably a problem that you think you’re fat...
You are right Dylan. Thanks for your courteous reply. I am out of excuses; caregivers should never be abused. I humbly stand corrected.
"my 300 pound thighs" lmao same
@Lindsay Jackson Very, very slowly.
@Lindsay Jackson A real answer though is swimming is always a good exercise, especially for obese people.
I’m glad they’re doing something about it because people like these who don’t help themselves end up in the nursing home and make CNAs life hell.
@Kyril J ever heard of a Hoyle lift? It's like a crane for fat humans. I'm not sure why every healthcare center doesn't have at least one. They have been around forever. No one should he forced to lift regular weight patients much less huuuuge patients like this.
@@ghost-ez2zn and what do you think happens when a patient is on the hoyer lift? You still need 3 individuals to try to get them on it, and strong enough to push the lift. The poor nurses and cnas have to deal with the consequences of someone else actions and break their backs.
I work therapy in a nursing home. Nursing homes are now for lazy fat people and young drug addicts that fry their neuro systems
@@Random_Things1001 should we just euthanize them?
And I’m Still Single 😩😩😩
Probably because of your stank attitude.
@@pollypockets508 😂😂💀💀💀
I feel ya..
I am curious how these people who are almost bedridden manage to get tattoos
Home delivery lol idk
Or they probably had tattoos before gaining all those weights.
@@benritchybruno5967 They've all been obese their entire lives though
That little girl's smile at the end was the best thing I've seen on the show and in the videos about it.
I have so much admiration and happiness for those on this program who lost the weight and are striving towards health! I hope the rest of the patients will eventually lose weight as well and improve their lives☺️
Nicki and Christina are actually so pretty 💁🏼♀️
brookxxs.block Brittany has such a cute face too!
It’s crazy how I hit my heaviest weight this past year, but it (189 lbs) is actually the goal weight of some people. Nonetheless, it is extremely motivating and inspiring to watch success stories.
First one sounds like she ate Minnie Mouse.
Note: I was going to say "sounds like", but let's be real ..
This is why I stopped eating fast food and candy...
I accidentally read the “tlc” logo as “thicc”
I don't understand how ppl can get too this point, however, these days I see way more freaky things
It's an addiction, like meth or alcohol. And people generally develop it as a coping mechanism from troubled childhoods/ trauma.
I really thought Pauline was a lost cause but I'm so glad that she was able to get her life back together.
The last case made me so happy idk. That girl looking up to her dad. she looked so happy and he did too. And he came closer to spend quaity time with them too. It warms my heart a bit c:
Nikki? Girl that's Molly Ringwald. 😒
Don’t do molly like dat lol
See, you WRONG... LOL
OMG, I had no idea that Pauline loss so much weight. My goodness, I thought that woman was lost cause, but so glad she proved me & a lot of other's wrong. Good for her. I always liked her.
"at only 5 foot 1..." I feel called out. HAHA
I got gastric sleeve surgery not long ago and this was very motivating. Thank you
Melissa is the OG and the G.O.A.T. of this show, bravo to her👏
It's truly amazing to me that so many of these people are married.
I love the success stories.
They’re so inspiring 💕
I’m so proud and happy for everyone that was successful!!
Cillius seems like a really sweet guy.
I like the one who was screaming for bowls of pork. Can’t make this up! Good stuff...🤣

I’m so proud of all of these people! I’m so glad that they decided to get a hold on their life. 😊
this show is my guilty pleasure :P
Success stories like these make me love the grind, the hard work, the relentless struggle to achieve things even more.
God bless each and every one who is struggling to achieve something in life.
SICK SICK WOMAN HOW DOES SHE GO TO THE OILET AND CLEAN HERSELF AFTERWARDS?? ALL BECAUSE SHE CANNOT CONTROL HER OWN SICK EATING HABITS!!!!!
alright wendy calm down
Lol
The last one made me cry a little. Stories involving parents with children are just that little bit more heart wrenching but so sweet
Them trying to blur out McDonalds logo 😂 we see that
I think 6 months between each visit is a little too long and people might lose motivation. But since most of them get surgery anyway why not just do it from the begining?
Losing weight before surgery will lower the risk of complications and make weight-loss surgery safer
They have to prove that they can stick to the diet for the rest of their life essentially. If they go back to the old way of living after the surgery they could seriously harm themselves. It's like how doctors will wait to perform skin surgery to make sure they don't just gain the weight back again.
Christina is so beautiful how she lost the weight. She got one of the sweetest faces.
Pauline was sooo annoying!
I heard that around 80% who get bypass surgery gain some if not all of it back. I worked with a gal who had the surgery but started gaining it back. I’m sorry for these people that are so addicted to food. I guess it’s like a drug addiction. Thing is you need to eat to live.
Its hard its an addiction just like drugs.... I wouldn't wish it on anyone
I know several women who did exactly this. Changing your lifestyle is very hard. Food and eating addictions are really hard because you cannot abstain complete from eating. Don’t judge others. You no idea what their life challenges have been. People do not want to be mean and rotten assholes, but that what occurs when your life becomes out of control.
Fred Schartz who’s judging?
Yeah if you don't change your habits within a year, you'll gain it back.
You all are beautiful inspirational and amazing people!
Dr.Now life-saver and HERO for so many people in dire situations , may GOD BLESS YOU !!
I don’t know them. But I am hella proud of what they were able to accomplish.
So many people on this show blame their overeating and weight gain on being molested as a young child. I hope that none of that is true. Some I believe, and some look like they are using it as an excuse.
The saddest thing about this show is how commonly contestants were molested as children , that they then overate as children for comfort / to fight off their molesters or to make themselves undesirable to their molesters. They don't get offered therapy as much as they should.
Thanks for your feedback. I agree that fat people are mean when they don't get the huge amounts of food that they want, but speaking from experience, the pain and embarrassment felt by the obese person are also factors.
I love to see success like this, seeing people living there greatest lives.. 💗
This is really off topic but Lashanta’s voice is so cute
It's 0820 I just got off of work, and I'm tired af and was going to go to the gym later, but after seeing this I'm going to workout now.
I'm so happy for the people that were able to loose weight.
I just want to know the diet plan Dr.N put them on too loose 100 pound in a month? I need that plan
The heavier a person is, the more calories it takes to sustain that weight. This is why morbidly obese ppl can lose weight very quickly.
my aunts in this show and shes lost 120 pounds in 3 months and im proud of her
Rizzity how to lose so much in just 3 months
120 is actually very average when you 600 or more pounds
Seeing ciliass daughters face when she saw how tall he was was priceless.
All that damage being done to their bodies is just sad.
How on earth can someone allow themselves to get that fat in the first place??
Most people off 'My 600-lb Life' used eating as a coping mechanism for serious trauma.
Depression and mental illness.
It’s usually some tragic event that triggers the overeating as a coping mechanism. It’s an addiction, like drug use.
Some of them are just "victims" and want to stay victims.
Trauma.
If someone with 300-pound legs can actually “walk” then they must have “freakish leg strength”.
_One day I fear losing control of what I eat and do and end up like this._
*Edit: Okay tbh these stories are inspiring. Watching this makes me feel like I can do anything, I don't think I'll ever end up fat because, I'm only 96 pounds, but this makes me feel like I can do my homework I guess.*
Nikki was my favorite. She was so kind, smart, and funny. She never made excuses and worked hard.
Pauline was a nightmare.
Love seeing these folks put in the work to help themselves ❤️
If only every human had the motivation of those amazing person
I’m 9 stone , 5f 2 and feel really fat all the time....
what bothers me the most is the small rolls I get when I sit
But then you get people who are hundreds of pounds in weight and don’t even understand the severity
Two extremes I guess
For now, I’m trying not to eat so much bad stuff especially in the evening and try to understand my emotions instead of eating to ease them
Some may say I’m not fat, and really I’m not, but self image is a complicated thing and all my head and emotions are saying is that I need to lose weight and be something like 6 stone 😞 it sucks
R o s s l e R o o stay safe hun, and I’m sure you’re absolutely beautiful💕✨
I always liked Olivia's story. She really worked for it. Amazing!
This show is the reason why I’m so aware of what I put into my body. I look at them and think “I’m glad I’m not that big…but I could if I’m not careful!”
My heaviest was 195 lbs (im 5'9) and i felt completely disgusting and started losing weight bc i couldn't live like that anymore, i dont understand how these people can get to THAT state. Sry for any grammar mistakes
Julzz I’m also 5’9. The highest I got was 140 when I was 9 months pregnant. Ugh! I wonder how anyone can move, be comfortable or live like they do! I’m with you!
Nicki and Britinie were my favorites and I'm so proud of both of them.. I'm concerned about the husband because he should've been doing the diet too..
the amount of excuse they made is so mind blowing,
I am nowhere near 600 lbs and can't even get a date. How do these women get husbands???
Breezy 🤷🏽♀️
its obviously that personality and outlook girl🤨
@@l..l1923 I guess so. I never thought I had a bad personality but maybe I do...

I love seeing the good endings for the people on this show
I'm So proud of them ♥️
Well done Christina. If dr now is telling you to GAIN weight you’ve officially won!
This is all a lack of self control
@Sandra i would say it about drugs and alchohol... who wouldnt?
It’s the result of a mental illness, the same as any other illness (many times people think mental illness is different from physical illness for some reason)...
Fantastic for all of them!
