He is just honest. He heard already every excuse in the book
Wendy Peeters very nice doctor and very honest because he is perfectionist
exactly
Yes! He really cares about them and wants them to live, so he will give them the brutal truth. Many doctors will sugarcoat things now because some hospitals have a crazy patient review system that can get doctors fired if patients make complaints.
Ps my mother is head nurse/administrator head of a floor of nurses, who has been in nursing for decades.
But I have water weight
No kidding, how frustrating. I'm sure he has to worry about bogus lawsuits too
I've lost weight watching this show. At my heaviest I was 255, I'm now down to 180. It took me 3-4 months . I eat and drink healthier and exercise everyday.
great job!!
👏👏👏👏
I'm at your starting weight right now. Can you share what you did? Maybe a go to recipe?
Way to go!
rhoads' girl...Oooh🤭a true Randy fan🎸❤️
I know you have class and taste🙋🏽♀️💕congrats
on your weight loss!! You go girl🥳 Randy
would be so proud!!🥂🎉🎈
Dr. Now is getting older and soon he wont be able to guide people anymore. He is sacrificing his own life for people who cant seem to get a hold of their own. Thank yiu Dr. Now. Please remember to take care of yourself 💓
@Carol DeHaven everyone dies. That’s what Karoo Blue means.
TsukiKageTora LOL
I think it is so crazy that he still workes and makes surgeries
I think he is an awesome human
Karoo Blue true
ua-cam.com/video/SAOtzxfjHqM/v-deo.html
He only works on the patients in the show. So hes partially retired.
Dr Now has the patience of a saint. He’s a surgeon AND a therapist.
A large amount of patience for patients of large amounts.
@@lavendertease that is a lot of p's
No , he's definitely no therapist, the most he will say is ''well I'm sorry to hear that BUT~~~He's made it clear that he's not interested in anyone's hard luck stories just the program.
@@marilynwillett804 no hard luck stories , he's used to people making excuses out of thin air, and came to the conclusion that only those who really want to do it will keep going.
But agree , def not a therapist
@@rubenfedred9646 A large amount of p's? (3/31/2021)
This is a man who has had patients pass away even after they start losing weight because their hearts are so weak. He understands more than they do how dire their situations are.
Sad but true. Some people deserved another chance in life but died, whilst others have a chance and spit in it s face. Dr. Now just sees them as a waste of his time and of others
@@christianaquilina5434 they're definitely not a waste of his time. That tv show is huge in more than just one way. Those huge people are BIG money for all involved.
@@christianaquilina5434 But he also sees every patient as a possible chance for the penny to drop, and for an overweight, face-stuffing viewer out there, to get the message. And neither he nor the public know just how many there are who have survived because of this progamme.
@@ap9141 And he deserves every cent. On call 24-hrs for people arriving by medical assistance services, and coming in every morning knowing he is going to have a day full of people he would like to fix, but probably can't. Yet he still keeps on trying. No-one can resent what he earns from this.
@@heleneldridge4996 I agree.
“Heaven forbid we waste your time.” Lmaooo. Let her ass go. Some of these people are so ungrateful.
“Have you had any activity the past 2 months” “what’s that”
😂 I heard that
Activity? Shocked pikachu face
I think she is slow/low iq. :(
She thought it was some kind of food. 😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣
Ded 😂
As a person who has had weight loss surgery and successfully lost all my extra weight, I can tell you that what Dr. Now speaks is the truth. He holds his patients accountable for their choices and reminds them that the surgery is not a magic bullet. Plus, we need to remember that these people are likely receiving his services for either free or an extremely reduced cost for appearing in the program. He is providing every tool they need to succeed, but many want to blame their lack of success on anything but their personal choices!
Congratulations to you on your successful weight loss 👏👏👏 glad your hard work paid off😁
Most of them want money, recognition and free weight loss surgery
How much have you lost
@@rubenfedred9646 I was nowhere near some of these patients in terms of weight loss! I am 5'2" and began the program at 200 pounds. I have lost a total of 75 pounds and am holding steady right now between 125 and 130. For me this is a healthy weight and all my other numbers are fantastic.
It’s all their doing and why they got to this point they just don’t cats they jst keep on eating and they blame it all on Depression so ridiculous
"Heaven forbid we waste YOUR time" Dr. Now is a savage
"while you are wasting OUR time and resources" don't forget that part.

She said “i don’t have time for that” yeah but you have the time to be eating probably 100k calories a day
No, it's true, she doesn't have the time for that, because time is running out for her.
WAXKOPP w all of the time she did have before coming on the show is what I’m talking about
Come on now. Its only 12k calories.
She gets exhausted from eating
@@waxkopp she sounds high as hell from painkillers...my exroomate who ate himself to death was on painkiller's sleeping pills and insomnia meds
One thing I've noticed about these overweight people is that they have all have very childish personalities.
Amy Jo a lot of them have unfortunately suffered from some form of childhood trauma. There are lots of cases of people gaining a ‘childish’ aura due to the abuse as a coping mechanism. Just like the food addictions, in a way it must bring them a sense of comfort and safety.
I noticed the same
They are just good at manipulating people to get what they want...more food. They have all these family members providing unhealthy food. I am repulsed by these slobs
@@kaitlin253 you're right but anuway it's not an excuse!!!!who on this earth has a life perfect??everyone has to face trauma!!!!these people have to face themselves without self complaisance!
soa pan Yes, most people do have terrible things happen to them. But I don’t know if I’d consider everyone to suffer from Trauma? That’s something that deeply distressing or disturbing. Most often these people on the show can be suffering from sexual abuse of all levels from when they were children. While lots of people suffer from this sadly not everyone suffers from this trauma. Again, what they are doing to cope is horrible for themselves and they are destroying their lives and others no doubt about it. So I’m not disagreeing at all! Just curious whether you think everybody suffers from trauma? If so what kind of trauma does everybody on earth share?
The overweight patients seem to all be:
1. Unemployed
2. Emotionally immature
3. Self pitying
4. Lazy and Undisciplined
5. Low pain threshold
6. Never feel guilt or embarrassment......are happy to use others for their personal care ....Harsh but true
don't forget that 99% of them have unresolved childhood abuse and trauma. not everything is black and white, dude. life has more nuance than that.
Selfish. They almost never say ‘Thank You.’
Tanya ......bottom line...I agree ! 👍
That is the loser mentality.
@@skrittle555 We all have problems and traumas but we can choose to reach help and make an effort. Some or most of them are just whinny thinking they deserve everything
Retaining water? What are you retaining? Lake Erie?
Nah it's more river Shannon with the waste of the ocean!
Edna Kelley 😂😂😂😂 this comment was weirdly personal, I live in Michigan and the reply is funny too. My moms names Shannon 🤔
She’s retaining the Atlantic Ocean

Maybe what he really meant was that her face and neck were so large he couldn't fit her head in the screen.
He deals with such difficult personalities. He's developed such a skill for calling out manipulation.
He’s brutally honest because he cares about his patients and wants to see a change for their benefit and even potentially save their lives! When they have success the smile on his face is priceless. He’s a great doctor.

I would feel Pathetic if 4 people had to pull me inside a ambulance ...
I personally think it'd be kinder to call Seaworld and return these creatures to the ocean. :P
But yes, I hear ya. :)
I know I've put on weight (like 2-3 ks tops, which is huge for my tiny frame) but I would NEVER let myself go to this extent. I have some goddamn pride in myself!
I have plans to get back to my preferred size of a size 10 AU. Atm, I'm about a size 12-14 around the waist...and I am SO not used to that! Honestly, I could not imagine being any bigger.
I was a size 8 when I was a teen...but I'm not aiming for a miracle :P
That is a motorized stretcher, kind of like a forklift.
They don't care these people have little shame just greed.
Dr. Now: *Have you had any activities?*

I’ve gained 14kgs in pregnancy, It’s a struggle to breath sometimes. I cannot imagine how these severely obese people exist or are happy. Or why some are so stubborn to loose weight
May you and your child (and the farher) live a happy healthy life, even with all this stress!!!
Same. Ive put on 20 lbs since getting pregnant and am so breathless and my back hurts. Im already motivatated to exercise and lose weight after the baby. 11 weeks to go. Idk how people get that far in weight gain and dont want to feel better.

I’ll say take a walk a day, maybe it might help to breathe more properly. Just a suggestion🤷🏾♀️
GeekyArty I do. But having asthma and a baby taking up your abdominal space doesn't set the stage for easy breathing. But thanks anyway

No problem
Dr Now is great and he plays no games and that’s what l like about him and he cares for his patients and gives chances but if he can’t take it any more he fires back and he is so cool
We're Lee. The Malnourished burn is still one of the best in this show. DO YOU LOOK MALNOURISHED lmfao.
I’ve seen obese people in the hospital being treated for malnutrition, they need to get an infusion of protein because of all the junk they eat.
@@hyacinthbucket3803 One person on his show was malnourished and he sent him to the hospital. They do eat such garbage there is no nutrition in the food the intake. They say they love food and eat garbage not "food".

Dr. Now is just doing his job, an excellent job at that. He is being honest. These people perhaps never heard the truth ever in their lives.
Problem is that blubber is screaming FEED ME. Human body / mind connection is so weird . Your habits influence themselves, whether good or bad . They almost take on a life of their own
I love how he doesn't sugar coat his advice and tells it how it is to the patients.
This is not ruthless this is trying to get through to an addict. Which is not an easy task and it takes a tough person to do it much like Dr Now.
I have total respect for people who could say it like it is without sugar coating anyting the truth something today's society needs

When you have high sugar levels then you will crave for high carb food and sugary food. Drink black coffee, green tea, ginger tea, eat a regular meal (5-6 small portion) that high on proteins (eggs, chicken, fish, dairy products), green veggie and fruits.
I thank this show for giving me motivation to lose the weight , I wore 394 it took 3 years but I’m on the right track I now weigh 248 pounds and still losing, my appetite was big but not like
the candidates on 600 pounds I eat more ve and on a smaller plate, smaller portions help
He should not be wasting his time with those who are non-compliant, just kick them out of the program and allow some one else who would do well and deserves to be helped, I would not be giving second chances. They get one kick at the can, and if they blow it, then out they go.
Then there would not be a show.
Thank you doctor Now, for all the work you've done for your patience but ALSO for all us viewers too ❤

Sofia DiMaggio Savage? You’re a joke!
Her episode is so infuriating. She’s a total Karen, just an entitled brat.
She was horrible!
I would like to hear/see any talks given to the enablers about their role in the program. They are a big part of the program and problem.
I am still amazed it's even possible to get this big. Like, honestly, I feel like you really have to make an effort and strive for this to happen. No normal human being can stuff 8000kcal in their mouth unless they're a professional strongman like Eddie Hall, but those people turn the energy into muscle mass and burn off the excess. To just sit idly and still feel like you need another 3000kcal two hours after a meal, that's commitment right there.
He is so cute that Dr Now ! Hope his family HUGS hin a lot.
This show is lesson to everyone who is 100 lbs or less overweight .
Don't let it get this bad .Do something about it before you become immobile and need surgery to correct your morbid obesity .
I'm thankful that I started my weight loss journey less than 60 pounds overweight
This definitely solidifies my decision to quit drinking soda and to cut down on fast food.
Dr. Now is a true genius, he cares about his patients. ❤️

Im trying to lose 90 lbs again & i watch Dr. Now & take his advice & i pray for these participants because i feel their pain. When he asked his client has she been getting activities and she asked what is that. I hollered. 😂😂🤣Help us Lord we all struggle
Dr. Now is savage but he has to be because he works with (food) addicts. I don’t know how born-and-raised American doctors are but a born-and-raised Canadian doctor would never be so harsh with their patients because of Canadian cultural rules about politeness and kindness. But I like Dr. Now’s approach. These patients don’t need sugar-coated words - they need the harsh truth.
Not true. It's a personality trait not a nationality trait. As many people in the comments say they love this trait in real life "sayers" are ostracized and seen as a threat in the workforce because they may outshine other people who are not pulling their weight. There are canadians and americans like this.
He is just honest. Period! They do not understand, that they harm themselves with thousands of excuses and refusing to take responsibility for THEIR behaviour. Health is our most precious wealth.
Dr now did my surgery and I've gained 15lb in 8 years and am disappointed in myself and would be so embarrassed if I talked to him. There is no excuse for gaining wait. Eating too much and being lazy is not an excuse
I was 448 lb, I got the go ahead if I could lose 56lb, in two months I was on a liquid diet, I worked full time, and ,y colleges were getting take out and I was drinking my liquid shake, that's how determined I was, I'm now down to 224,, after surgery, if you are determined because you know you need it, you will do it,
Good job!
Sometimes I think some of these people just want to be on tv and have no intention of losing weight.
they only get about 1500$ for the entire episode which takes a year and sometimes longer to film, and some of them have sued the show for medical expenses so i'm gonna go with no on that one, chief. they all have eating disorders. food addiction is the hardest addiction of them all. imagine trying to get a heroin addict to do heroin in moderation. yeah. not so easy. when they find the right therapist, things can change pretty drastically relatively quickly. should be the first step in these shows if you ask me.
@@skrittle555 I weighed 400 lbs 7 years ago. So I know all about eating disorders, I had gastric bypass in 2014 and lost 230 lbs. if you don’t address the disorder before your surgery you are going to fail. That is why so many fail. The surgery is just a tool. It’s up to the person receiving the tool on whether they choose to use it or not. That is why Dr. Now stresses psycho therapy so much. It is essential if you want to succeed.
Donald: They want to lose weight, but they want to just show up, have the surgery, and POOF - The cravings go away, they lose a bunch of weight, don’t have to exercise, and all their problems are solved. I love how savage and honest Dr. Now is! He doesn't play around because he actually cares!
He has to be honest, direct and stern because most of his patients are truly close to death by the time they are compelled to seek medical help for their dangerously high body weight. These people don't have much time to play with, so there's no room for Dr. Now to be gentle about the reality of their condition.
