I really loved this makeover Marty! I also love your bloopers as it reminds us all that behind every pristine model build is a heap of blood sweat tears and cursing, even from the best modellers.
this was my favorite Matchbox vehicle of all time. I found one online about 10 years ago that was brand new in the original box. It has a special place on my desk. Simple things make me happy.
I've come over all nostalgic as I used to have one of these, and you are right, it was the favourite of all my toy cars. I used to be in the garden down in the mud loading up the truck with aggregate. Fantastic make over and a brilliant end result.
Thing I like most about your videos is not the rebuilding, its the Headlines in your papers (your rebuilding is fantastic as well). Hope 2020 brings more videos.
Proud Patreon supporter here! If you have to go every other week for a bit please do. You, family,, hobby then us. I feel blessed that you're willing to share your hobby and discoveries with us. This model looks great!
Excellent work as always. Would have loved having that one in my sandbox as a kid. I enjoy watching your restorations of these childhood treasures. Keep up the great work.
August Fruehuef invented the semi trailer in Detroit Mi for a friend to haul his boat behind his Model T. Another excellent job Marty. That truck and trailers looks brand new.
A big salute & thank you to the donors of the subject & materials used to help Marty make this edition. Ken choked me up also with the generous supply package he sent. Everyone should watch that unpack aging video. Very awesome. The kid could have been influenced by a local company when he painted it. The new ultrasonic cleaner is a beaut .Bummer about that windscreen Again it is morning & I have my coffee. Very therapeutic Thanks Marty..
I loved the king size models so hard when I was a child. They were more expensive and more difficult to get as gifts (my folks were not wealthy and I had 5 siblings to compete with). This restoration was a pure joy to watch Marty! My next door neighbour, Wayne had this combination set and some others. Together with mine we practically wore the paint off them every summer playing in the dirt in the early 1970's. I especially enjoyed the models with imitation hydraulic cylinders as I was fascinated with electrical/mechanical machines as a small child. Oddly, when I entered my early teens, I did not pick up a miniature hobby and I still recall the emptiness I felt inside when I would think back to those days in the dirt when I was a small child. I started building speaker cabinets and sound equipment in my teens and things expanded from there but I always remember(d) my fondness for small scale trains, cars etc.
I hope Matchbox didn't have as hard of a time as you putting decals on! LOL The model looks absolutely gorgeous. You have done an outstanding job. Thank you Marty.
I had one of those as a child. I didn't repaint it, but like most kids, I removed all the tyres... Now I'm older & more mature, I'll look for another one to restore 😁
Being 10 years older than my youngest brother, who was born in 1962, he had this truck and trailer. I loved to play with him and his Matchbox toys, but being a girl, I was never given any as a gift and it was frowned upon for me to actually play with them unless he was there too :( I got my own back in later years when I had 4 sons of my own! LOL I got them all sorts of little cars - including 'VINTAGE' Matchbox cars! LOL Love your make-overs Marty. This was a particularly great one to watch. thank you
I suppose that when your 10 yrs old have an old brush and left over paint from the shelves in dad's garage you thought that you had made a fine job. Marty restores to pristine.
There's one of these in a box in the attic, bought by my Dad nearly half-a century ago. Paint's not too bad and it's not missing too many tires. Your video made me appreciate the thought, engineering and design that went into this toy/model. The only way this video could have been better is if my Dad had been watching it with me.
Great video as always Marty... Don't burn yourself out, we come for the quality of the restorations and the care you put into your videos, I know I for one would be sad if you felt pressured to let either of those drop just to make a deadline... We'll watch whenever the uploads come, take care of yourself and keep on keeping on! Best from the USA
Well worth the wait and the final product is really nice work. Once you got into the stripping and repainting it didn't seem to take long at all. Thanks
This brings so many memories of my childhood, it was my dad’s truck collection and we use to play with it every holiday. Thanks Marty for refreshing my memory.
Plus Marty. You are almost a genius with these self making solution. The plastic "self made" windshield looks pitch perfect for that model. No one would ever suspect that windshield would be a "foe one". That's one of the most perfect "phony parts" that i ever have came across, watching or doing any sort of restauration; not just matchbox cars.
A PHENOMENAL EFFORT THERE MARTY! WOWEE!!!!!! Thats gotta be one of THE most beautiful restorations in your collection!!!!! That yellow really makes the tipper trailers POP! And an excellent job on that temporary windscreen!
What a great make over . Looks like it’s just been pulled out the box . A real thing of beauty again . With the ultrasound washer my look at the small commercial ones if they might do a better job in half the time . Thank you again Marty for a great video
Very nice restore. So professional. World-class craftsmanship. Worthy of new containers. You should print some new boxes for those. Thanks for posting.
I am surprised Kevin did not pull the dumper lever and cover you with dirt. Great video. I live the outtakes at the end. You make it look easy in the video. I know it’s not easy.
Excellent restoration Marty. I had one of these as a child and the draw bar on mine was black. DenmarkRadar was correct. The exhaust stack is missing the tail pipe at the top. Brings back great memories.
This one brings back memories. As soon as I saw the image, I knew that this was the one that I got sometime in the 1960s as a boy of maybe 8 or 9 years old. It certainly was a favourite, and I do think that I still have it in a box of old toys stored in the roof. The colours look great. There was another similar model of a dark red prime mover with two silver hopper trailers that opened to dump the load out of the bottoms. Excellent restoration.
Absolutely beautiful restoration. Love how Marty pays attention to details here.! Like the decal work that makes it as if it came right out of box! Great job Marty!
Glad to see you purchased the “soft jaws” for your vice. I remember suggesting these to you a year ago or so. They work great. Thanks for a wonderful video Marty!
Absolutly wonderful work and an awesome result. This truck with its two trailers turns out beautiful. I think until now this is your best restoration .
Beautiful work. Two comments 1. Can one of the 22 (so far) folks that dislike explain their concern? 2. Marty, please don’t pressure yourself with schedule. Always enjoy the great work you do!
Another Beautiful restoration Marty. That will be a nice addition to your collection. Check with your hobby store or an automotive paint supply store for plastic parts stripper. It will make cleaning the plastic parts much easier. Cheers until the next video.
Thanks Marty from a frameless dump bed operator 👍🏼😎👍🏼 And also thanks to the person who donated the truck. You Rock 👍🏼
Beautiful job Marty, very proud of you and glad to see the singing lessons were not waisted 😄
I really loved this makeover Marty! I also love your bloopers as it reminds us all that behind every pristine model build is a heap of blood sweat tears and cursing, even from the best modellers.

Marty captured that magic we loved as a children
I've come over all nostalgic as I used to have one of these, and you are right, it was the favourite of all my toy cars. I used to be in the garden down in the mud loading up the truck with aggregate. Fantastic make over and a brilliant end result.

The engineering and design of the original model is amazing, for a pocket money priced toy.
This time you did a really colossal job!
Beautiful restoration Marty, congratulations
Thank you Marty for shouting out Kens phenomenal gifts. One of my top 10 moments ever watching UA-cam.

This model looks great!
One of best done restoration Marty , much better than factory finish , hard work 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍
PERFECTION!!!! This was my first King Size Matchbox model when I was a kid. Thanks ever so much for the trip down memory lane.
Maybe the coolest restoration you have ever done.
That would have been my era I was born in 1960 and you did a fantastic job restoring it almost back to when it was brand new....
Honestly didn't recognize this model until you re-painted it in its original colours . Job well done!
Absolutely brilliant , I had this model as a child and as I remember this is spot on , excellent job
A GREAT job restoring that Dodge D800 "cab and cowell" semi truck and trailers!!
Too bad can only give one thumbs up! What an excellent makeover!! Got my grandson [age 4] hooked on your vids now too!
Excellent work as always. Would have loved having that one in my sandbox as a kid. I enjoy watching your restorations of these childhood treasures. Keep up the great work.

Another excellent job Marty. That truck and trailers looks brand new.
you had your fun displaying all the parts on the cardboard 😎👍 very nice result
I counted 81 parts. 82 when the missing tyre is replaced. Probably the most of any Matchbox model.
Wow what a resto Great job Marty👍👍👍
An absolutely amazing transformation! These older Matchbox vehicles were tops!
Wow Marty it's an absolutely great finish, well done you.
Thanks Chris, I love it!
What ever you restored....everytime you make a fabulous job!!👍👍💗
Excellent result Marty - now the truck is a thing of beauty. It looks amazing well done.
Agreed! A superb resto job. It's great we can vicariously enjoy Marty's hard work. Bravo!
That was quite an undertaking. But the results were Outstanding! Just beautiful........................

Beautiful job!!! The tipper truck seems like it just leave the matchbox die-cast factory!!!
turned out really beautiful, what a nice model. Glad to see you got Kevin on some meds too
That's quite a dismantling process you went through... thank you for so much detail...
🙏🏼
I hope Matchbox didn't have as hard of a time as you putting decals on! LOL The model looks absolutely gorgeous. You have done an outstanding job. Thank you Marty.
Stunning
Mesmerizing
Hypnotizing
I didn’t realize how quick 37 mins have passed.
Thank you for this great job.
This may be your most beautiful restoration!
It’s brand new, Marty! No one else could have done this as much justice! Love it!

An absolute beauty!!
This brings so many memories of my childhood, it was my dad’s truck collection and we use to play with it every holiday. Thanks Marty for refreshing my memory.
Just finished my dinner, and this pops up as dessert. Purrfect!.
Hi Marty. I still have this exact model, still in the original colors and decal. It is a bit used, but it was a joy watching you detail this model.
Plus Marty. You are almost a genius with these self making solution. The plastic "self made" windshield looks pitch perfect for that model. No one would ever suspect that windshield would be a "foe one". I’ve got the same model in original blue and yellow. A fantastic model. Brilliant restoration
What a beautiful restoration Marty, one of the best I've seen. Top job.
Nice work Marty. I had one of these models and I drove it into the ground. It didn't survive any of my modification programs.
May it RIP.
Very nice restore. So professional. World-class craftsmanship. Worthy of new containers. You should print some new boxes for those. Thanks for posting.
Your awesome . You and Bob Ross are my two favorite people to watch on U tube .

This is probably one of the best models I’ve seen you do, superb job!!
Really beautiful model,,,,Really nice finishing
This is a super job! I always loved this Dodge LCF model. It took me many years to finally get one in reasonable condition.
This one brings back memories. As soon as I saw the image, I knew that this was the one that I got sometime in the 1960s as a boy of maybe 8 or 9 years old. It certainly was a favourite, and I do think that I still have it in a box of old toys stored in the roof. The colours look great. you gave quite the new life to this model!
Your best one yet👍👍👍👍👍 Many of the ones you restore, I had as a youngster and wish I kept.
Stunning job marty. Judging by the end bit with the transfers, there was a fair deal of trial and error involved lol
Best vid yet, this is 40+ mins of pure escapism. Thank you
Another Beautiful restoration Marty. That will be a nice addition to your collection. Check with your hobby store or an automotive paint supply store for plastic parts stripper. It will make cleaning the plastic parts much easier. Cheers until the next video.

I really prefer cars , but what you've done here is awesome ! Bravo !
That was some nice work you did on the Dodge Tractor with Fruehauf Tippers it looks good as new.
Dodge truck and trailers look BETTER than new. Great makeover! Brilliant fix on the windscreen - didn’t even notice it by the end of the video.
Superb job and a clever temporary windscreen too - at a glance you wouldn't know.
