Although I am new to model restoration, I have history with full size vehicle body repair. A good job does require fiddling around a bit, taking patience. But the final result is worth it as you masterfully show. Thank you.
Hy Marty, these are the horizontal guide rollers and the pulley on the left of the rear winch. With this restoration you have once again outdone yourself.
Hey, Henry , sorry it took so long! - Thanks for supporting me and my channel. As I said, "Without you this video would not exist". A thousand thanks. :)
Yet another makeover of yesteryear. Really nice job I remember seeing these heavy lorries on the road, as regards to to the rear end of the truck the rollers were for winching loads onto the the trailer, the cable was hidden in the big box on the back.
Brilliant work and craftsmanship! I was looking to restore a vintage Tootsietoy 1956 Pontiac Safari wagon to match my project car and found you by chance. Your tips and examples gave me the confidence to dive right in!
I'm more into HO scale model trains but I still like to see old toys restored. Years ago, when I was a young kid I did have a collection of Matchbox toys, though I lost them when my parents moved to a new place.
Very interesting video, very nice work. As far as the fan goes, when I used to paint in the garage I would tape a house air filter to the back of a box fan. You don't need that much air but they make small desk type box fans that you could put a disposable filter on. 👍👍
@@MartysMatchboxMakeovers I am so glad I found your channel.. I too am a matchbox collector.. I really enjoy watching your videos.. Do you have any photos of your collection.. Thanks.. Benny..
Very nice, a handsome piece to say the most. Pretty sure it's for transporting heavy machinery or even locomotives or traction engines. The lowloader is definitely dedicated to some purpose as that. I need one for my layout, hopefully one turns up somewhere.
Marty, To save tape that is not sticky anymore, try putting the roll in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Typically, it will revive the stickiness and make the tape useable again. Great job on the restoration.
I think that the features moulded on the rear of the prime mover, are meant to be winch rollers. I have the orange coloured large version of this, and that's what they resemble. An excellent restoration of a really cool toy. Thank you!
Good job. Might try using a small soldering iron instead of the torch. I find it more user friendly. Blasting anything that small and soft material will always remove some of those small details like grill. Love watching your videos each Sunday morning with my coffee. Have a good day Marty.
Part of the time consumption within your hobby surely comes from setting up the camera and filming the scenes of you, executing the different steps of the process of restoring the models. A work we are very happy with, as it is so well done Marty.
When this vehicle was boxed, the tractor sat on the trailer. If they put the tractor in front it would have been really long, and therefore the box would be too long. So when you see this in the original box the paint on the trailer will be chipped where the truck sat. This was caused by the truck moving back and fourth. Even though it moved just a tiny bit, it was enough to chip the paint. Great job as usual.
Jesus William, you legend. What a great memory you have. You "reactivated" my brain. Yes, I now recall as a kid the chipped paint on the trailer after it was taken out of the box.
It was also in a box set, the trailer was in a long bottom slot and the tractor in a separate slot above it. The set also had a construction shovel, a BP Tanker and a two piece Tractor-trailor.
@@timfaracy754 Great work Tim, I recall seeing the boxed set I think in a catalogue in an antique type shop in Greenwich in England. I should have bought that bloody catalogue too!! Oh well.
I love to see one episode on tour of Cabinet Collections. Would be a great review. In fact, multiple episodes would be the better (with links to your previous restoring videos). Thanks for your work to our future generations.
Very nice body work. I am impressed with your success soldering this material. Also, that you were able to work the material after soldering without breaking it. Beautiful result!
This was my favorite Matchbox as a kid. My drawbar went missing. I used a paper clip to fix it back then. It still looks good today! Love your videos! I am retired now and I am going to try restoring them some day soon. You've inspired me. Thanks!
Beautiful restoration with warm and charming narrative along with a nice sorta the good old days-match-box-like-feeling theme music .way to go Love of an English teacher from Iran.
The repair job was excellent along with the tow hook. Your tall display case reminds me of going to the store and seeing all the matchbox’s displayed. Great job again Marty
Top notch job Marty! You tackled ok an very challenging restoration proyect 😎👍 My favorite part was your "magic hand pass" (20:41) when you made up the truck trailer hook 😁😂😅 Thanks for this beautiful resto job, best regards and keep safe & healty 🙏
Outstanding job! Walnut shells at 6 inches, you DESERVE a pat on the back, and no way are you alone at having to redo a project. Keep up the great work 👍
I can imagine that particular set wouldn't have been cheap in the 60s. That would be a big Christmas or Birthday gift. You have done another amazing job on what was a wreck. It's amazing that little truck can pull the huge trailer.
Excellent finished project. You're very talented, finding creative solutions to difficult problems. You give concise explanations as you work. Keep up the good work.😎
It's not the quantity of videos you release but the quality of them, I really enjoy watching and learning new things.
🍺 cheers....!
A Great Sunday afternoon's enjoyment of a new Video and Model. Thank you, Mr. Marty
