Breaks are the only thing that keeps you sane, enjoy all you take. Used to drive the model before that, the tractor had front wheels, so it was a six wheeler.
Thank you so much Marty for your wonderful videos. The weekly release shows up here on Sunday mornings, and always goes well with my morning cup of coffee. Cheers!
I live just south of Ocean Shores Washington State in Long Beach Washington, like to get back in Match Box's even though I'm 59 yrs old now, had over two hundred Match Boxes and Hot Wheels in my youth and played with them every day for hours on end. Keep up with your great videos
Welcome home! I trust you had a wonderful time. I will corroborate the denture brush. I used them for many years to clean my projector heads in movie theaters after each reel of film. They are perfect for that job and last for years.
Hi Marty and welcome back. Great work and I think it's awesome that you find the time to post a new video while on holiday. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Thanks for sharing and have a nice Sunday. Best regards to you, Julie, the team behind the scenes and of course KEVIN 🐨😁
Welcome back! I guess the two hydraulic rams you've mentioned are used to steer the tipper, pivoting the two halves of the vehicle to the right or left, much as a modern scraper does. And I loved the "Giant Seagulls" headline!
Always a pleasure to see a new video Marty. I saw that you had a new video out while I was on my lunch break today, but I decided to wait until I got home so I could relax while I watched.
No need to apologize for any wait, mate. You deserve a holiday! Even a short break can reinvigorate your desire to get on with restorations. That said, I'm glad you are back - I've missed you and your entertaining videos.
Glad to see ya back from your well deserved vacation Marty, nice 👍 job on both dumper& loader, especially the part of repairing the frame of the dumper unit. Thanks for the tip on using a set of nail punches, “modified of course “ for rounding axels a super idea. As always your restorations are educational & informative, see ya on your next video. Hello from the Eastern Shore of Maryland!😎🦀🐠🦆🌾🍺🇺🇸
I love the paint removal. It just seems satisfying. I love the delicate music way in the background. Your repair on the bucket was awesome. Your restoration videos are loaded with ambiance. The new nail punch should last forever. Good job as usual. Welcome back.
Absolute 'Fair Dinkum' Mate! Like the nail-punch technique too. . When I was a sprog, around 4-5 years old, I would get dumped on baby-sitter for Sunday afternoons. She had a cardboard box almost full of Matchbox construction trucks, with duplicate numbers of various types - like 43 road-rollers, 24 shovel loaders (Hatans), 52 small dumpers, a handful of artic-dumpers (like this one), standard single shovel tractors and bulldozers with rubber tracks (many missing...) mostly in the same Matchbox 'Canary Yellow' construction-site livery, though I recall one or two being a dull green colour. . Most of these old Matchbox vehicals had no hubs, the wheel and hub were one piece, either in a grey or black plastic, or even cast metal. In the same box were also a large number - prob 30+ - red London double-decker buses and around 20 army 'Ferret' and 'Saladin' scout cars. All these toy vechicals were in varying states of cosmetic condition as they'd all been well played with. It was indeed weird playing with them... No cars, or lorries... Just rollers, dumpers, busses, dozers, Ferrets and Saladins ! Lol! Still, with my then vivid imagination, I was obviously kept occupied for hours with them regardless. . I suspect in hind-sight, that she obtained these as a job lot, possibly from a factory (rejects) sale, hence there being only a few types, but in large numbers. . The same old dear, also lived next to a lovely neighbouring garden, around which ran a model (prob Gauge One) steam railway. The old boy next door would flash this loco up, which hauled around 5 carriages around a raised rail layout. He was as regualr as an 'old school' station master, always flashing up the loco about half and hour after Sunday lunch. He always tooted the whistle to indicate the start of the event... I used to watch keenly from the stair landing window as it chuffed around his garden. . Funny what one remembers, especially so far back... [around 55 years...] Lost count of the number of Corgi, Dinkey, Britains and Matchbox cars I had over the years... All of them collectables now.... If only we'd known. But then, playing would have been very boring at times. I do miss some of them - Dinky's - FAB 1 - Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang (one of the best of all time...), The Batmobile, or Corgi's 007's Gold or Silver DB5, or the Austin 'Learner' car (with realistic steering wheel steering), or the 59 Cadillac Ambulance, with blue light (battery in the base....) and sctretcher.... All fond memories.
WOW! - Sounds like you had a great childhood and plenty of model cars to play with too! - I hope I have helped you to remember some of the forgotten memories of your youth. I must admit that every now and again, a small part of my brain is reactivated and a new memory comes to the surface! - Thanks for posting, all the best, Marty.
Wotcha, Marty What a lovely theme at this Valentine’s holiday - construction vehicles building a future together and the home of ones dreams! How clever!
Great video to start off my Sunday. Great work as always. My father drove a motor grader when I was a kid in the 60s so watching you work on these pieces reminds me of the days we'd go out and eat lunch with him on the job site. Sure sorry those gulls ate the dog. Love the stories I see in those gossip magazines you paint on.
Wow that loader is a 'Hatra' bit of a Holy grail among classic loader collectors...I remember watching West German Army Engineers using them, they were different in the the whole bucket and arms section could be moved through an arc facilitating loading in very tight spaces.
Hope you all had a great holiday Marty. Love the construction vehicles! 🚜 🚧 When I was a little kid, I had the Dinky versions of these. I didn’t start getting the Matchbox ones ‘til a bit later. No idea where the Dinkys ended up, but I still have the Matchbox ones. 😁 Great video and makeovers! Thank you. 👍🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I just did my very first super glue and baking soda repair. A couple of years ago my neighbour had given me a pair of Bluetooth headphones, just absolutely cheap crap that came along with a large case of wobbly pops. Well this past summer I snapped one of the arms off where it preloads/arches to provide tension to keep them on your noodle and I tried to glue it together and I bought gel Crazy Glue of all things in Latin work. So it's finally by the dollar store a couple of weeks ago and I dashed in and bought some liquid cyanoacrylate generic glue. It worked great. And that's fair Dinkum! Salutations from the Frozen Badlands of Western Canada
Welcome back Marty, its always a pleasure to see how you progress in perfection on each new project. And i,m always stunned by the looks after the finishing touch. Doctor MatchBox is a fact!
@Derek Charette 🤔🙂🍕🍕🥤 yum , as someone who just turned 40 - watch the wieght or nurses changing your pants will come before old age , still , more power to you 🥓🍔🍟🍕🌭
No need to apologize. You're not late, we UA-camrs suffer from anxiety. Enjoy what you do and the devil with any self imposed deadline. Rant over. Great job. From the Up Over, Narragansett Bay
Hi Marty, one suggestion for the paint stripper sequence. You could film the whole process of the disolving paint and then speed up the sequence to a few seconds. It would be interesting to see the paint being stripped. Just an idea in case you find it interesting. I love watching your videos. Reminds me of the time when I was playing with those toys :)
Marty, try using your butane torch at a safe distance on the faded wheels. Sometimes heat will bring the color back to the surface. Just be aware that you have to be super careful not to melt. Hope the tip helps. Keep up the great video's!
Damn awesome. Marty I'm a Patreon supporter and you need to have more options so I can add an extra buck or two onto my pledge. It's amazing how relaxing watching you work is. 🤔 Worth every penny!
Dinkem Dumper is my favourite machine builder in the world. Thanks Marty for restoration this model and presentation after restoration.
Great idea with the nail punches! And a super job of restoring these two work horses.
Welcome home. Hope you guys a great and relaxing time. Great job on these trucks.
Breaks are the only thing that keeps you sane, enjoy all you take. Used to drive the model before that, the tractor had front wheels, so it was a six wheeler.
Great to have you back Marty! I missed your videos, I hope you enjoyed your vacation!
The hydraulic ram at the coupling area is the steering mechanism, that explains how it steers with no steering wheels!
spot on
Thank you so much Marty for your wonderful videos. The weekly release shows up here on Sunday mornings, and always goes well with my morning cup of coffee. Cheers!
Lovely restoration... I always liked that Matchbox yellow. Really cheerful toys with the red touches. :)

Absolutely awesome restoration , Marty !!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome home! I trust you had a wonderful time.
I will corroborate the denture brush. I used them for many years to clean my projector heads in movie theaters after each reel of film. They are perfect for that job and last for years.
Giant gulls ate my dog. Awesome. Hope you had a great holiday. Great vid.
Your newspaper covers always crack me up.
Hi Marty and welcome back. Great work and I think it's awesome that you find the time to post a new video while on holiday. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for sharing and have a nice Sunday.
That’s exactly what they do.
😯🦅🐶 lol
Volvo do a similar 'Goose-Necked' dumper with the same steering, scary on a motorway!
Always a pleasure to see a new video Marty. I saw that you had a new video out while I was on my lunch break today, but I decided to wait until I got home so I could relax while I watched.
Nice to have you back. Great little project!
Ohhh! Worth the wait! Everybody needs a vacation, yes. Splendid job on cleaning up those sun faded components. Have a great day over there!
No need to apologize for any wait, mate. You deserve a holiday! Even a short break can reinvigorate your desire to get on with restorations. That said, I'm glad you are back - I've missed you and your entertaining videos.

No need to apologize Marty..
You and your wife need that holiday time...
Great video as always ..

I cant imagine explaining to others how entertaining it is to watch someone restore tiny vehicles. Keep going.
I missed your vids. Glad you’re back 👍🏻👍🏼👍🏽👍🏾👍🏿👍🏾👍🏽👍🏼👍🏻
Thanks for the idea of the paint brush clamps! I bought a box of 20 for my projects.
Hope you did have a nice holiday. Everyone needs that. It is always a pleasure to watch your videos.
Very nice restorations. Both construction vehicles looks awesome. As always beautiful, interesting and entertaining video. Greetings from Germany.

Cup of coffee, donut, and Marty's - recipe for a great Sunday morning.
Welcome back Marty! Good to see you back and once again doing more great work. We’re satisfied with that!
Glad you made it home safe and all. The cylinders on top of the dumper neck are the steering cylinders for that type of machine.
Glad your trip was a safe one and enjoyable one . As usual another great makeover Marty. See you on your next makeover.
They both look ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!! Beautiful job!!.. These both look ready to go back to work in the rock quarry!!
I love the paint removal. It just seems satisfying. I love the delicate music way in the background. Your repair on the bucket was awesome. Your restoration videos are loaded with ambiance. The new nail punch should last forever. Good job as usual. Welcome back.
"GIANT GULLS ATE MY DOG". One of my favorite segments of Marty's videos is the paint booth scene when we get to see the newsprint title.
Good to see you back Marty 👍🏼. I restored one of these Dinkum Dumpers many months ago and enjoyed it too 😀
Excellent paint work on this one, Marty. Looks really great at the end when you were turning it to show off your work. Really nice!
Absolute 'Fair Dinkum' Mate! Like the nail-punch technique too.

Those hydraulic cylinders at the pivot are for steering. Same as articulated farm tractors.
Beautiful and meticulous work as usual! They look great!
Hi Marty you're an inspiration to me me and my boy have started our first model belly dumper truck hugs
