I didn't know I could freeze eggs. This is helpful as a family of 1 and trying (not too successfully) to cut back on baking, I often times have had to throw out eggs. NO MORE. Thank you so much. See even an 81 yr. old can learn something new. Have a Blessed day.
I tried freezing them as you directed and when I went to thaw them out the yolks never did thaw out and became very gelatinous. I did have success however if I scramble the eggs and then froze them they would fall out and be perfectly usable. I'm also a big egg shell user for the garden! Thanks for all your great tips
I tried freezing raw scrambled eggs using a silicon cupcake pan. 1 egg in each and freeze. It produces nice little egg "discs." I them vacuum seal them and toss them back in the freezer.
We scramble ours and use a greased muffin tin to freeze them, pop the pucks out, and transfer to ziplock bags. We found that freezing eggs whole causes the yolks to have solid particles that don't want to break up once thawed.
I didn't know you could freeze eggs! That's a gamechanger! Patara, thank you so much for all the education you have put out here for free for all of us who don't have an elder to teach us. AND..for making it fun in the process!
I was in high schoool when we got our first home freezer in the late 1950's. Mom and dad were talking about the over abundance of eggs in the summer and how few we got in the winter. I ask why not freeze the extras in the summer. They looked suprised. But still decided to give it a try. We froze 6 at a time which was enough for scrambled for everyone except dad. He liked his sunny side up so we used the fresh for him. Another idea, if you are like me and are unable to have chickens a good idea is to buy extra when eggs are on sale, freeze the extra same principle.
❤️❤️❤️I swear you would be one of my besties if I lived by you. Your awesome! Sending love your way! We are homesteading here to but just getting started cause we moved here a year ago. Already have 14 laying hens who will be used for meat later in life, 1 rooster, 4 goats (two females to milk) 10 ducks, one is a boy, still babies but will be used for eggs and meat after they don’t lay as much, and three African guard geese, still babies. God bless you! Be safe!
Good Morning!!! I can't wait to get a freezer!! I end up tossing so much stuff cause I can't eat it before it goes bad.. And my grandma and great aunts used to put their eggs in a brine?? In huge crocks for when the hens weren't laying... But they had many hens and many in their family.. And sold eggs all the time... I miss the old homesteads and the old simple ways... Great to see you smile.. The babies... And the daffodils...
I wasnt sure you could freeze them. Thanks. Really important now in April 2022 with the war, pandemic and chicken culls due to the bird flu epidemic. 👍👍
Hey Miss P! You are looking so good and healthy. Eggcellent idea for extra eggs! Recently I watched a post regarding Gordon Ramsey scrambling eggs. For 40 years I been scrambling them thinking it couldn't get any better. Well let me tell you something he certainly educated me. Hands down the best technique I have ever seen. So at almost 46 years old I am enjoying eggs from my backyard on a whole new level. I can't say this enough, thank you for sharing your ways and means with all of us. You're a treasure and asset of positivity, education and just good ole down home spirit. Stay well and keep on trucking Little Mamma!
❤️🌻🐔Would you look at that huge egg!!! Thanks for sharing I have a ton of eggs like 40 plus and am learning way that I can freeze them. I also have heard someone tell me to use cupcake tins for the other eggs. I’m about to freeze me a bunch to preserve them and maiming my 9 hens are producing so many I can’t keep up. I use my egg shells the garden too. 🐔🌻❤️
I live in the city so homesteading, per say, is out of the question. But we do have 6 chickens running loose in the yard, and a coop for them. It occurs to me that a one gallon freezer bag could be sealed with a food saver in half, thirds, or quarters, depending on need. I'm learning lots from you. Thanks!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I tried to freeze eggs, once. I had boiled and peeled them, first. ICK. They were pure rubber. I'm sooo glad you showed us how to do it right. Blessings.
Patara my family likes pickled eggs. So I have already pickle about 3 dozen, but in a few days when it gets the day it ready they will start going. But, yes I have also started freezing some of my eggs. 2 eggs, and date I bags them. They are just as good when thraw out. Great share again thank you 😊
Love that T-SHIRT GURL ! Rocky Top all the way. I started learning about a yr ago. Thanks so much for sharing. Now if I can only find room in my freezer!
I would like a bit more information. Now we know how to freeze eggs, next step!! How to thaw and once that is done what can they be used for? Baking? Only scrambled?? Let me know please. Just found your channel and love the goats and information!!
You learn something new every day!! Thank you. I’ve been throwing out eggs as it’s just me here and I don’t use enough. Starting today I’m freezing them. Hugs x
I have a muffin recipe used 5 eggs. I put 5 eggs in a qt. freezer bag. Scramble them, toss in a small cardboard box. and freeze. They lay nicely in the smaller doterra boxes.
Just saw your post. I froze my eggs earlier today. Have to preserve what you can. I bought silicone muffin liners just to freeze eggs. One egg per liner.
I've been watching you for a few months -- but today I wanted to know more about freezing eggs (just incase) and surprise to me, I found your video on eggs. Gonna give it a try with a couple of eggs first. Thx
I freeze eggs in sixes in a Ziploc bag. Date the bag and canteen lift out one, two, three each required and reseal. The shells tend to split in three to five pieces and I just peel them before they defrost. Hungry hens get the shells back. Easy and there's eggs to scramble, inlets or game with when the girls are less productive. I haven't bought an egg in twenty years.
Glad your doing good. Love your suggestions on things. wished I had bad more attention to my mother when I was younger on how she did some things. I did pay attention though on when you have that extra little bit of money, buy that extra can of soup for down the line. You never know what tomorrow will bring.
After they thaw, how long do they last in the refrigerator or do you have to use them immediately? How long to they take to thaw in the fridge? Great idea, I'm doing this ASAP! Thanks so much!
Hello, thanks Patara.Stay strong and we will all carry on.You all are in my Prayer's.Good luck with your new Homestead.Very sweet baby goats.Love,Pia &Family in Ca.♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡......
You are awesome Patara. Thank you for the tips on eggs and how to freeze them, I once thought about freezing the entire eggs with the shells on but I kept thinking otherwise so I stopped.
We put ours in muffin tins and freeze that way and then just pop them out and put in a large freezer bag. I pull out however many I need for the recipe.
I love your name, where did it come from, does it have a meaning, did you already do a video on this subject and if so can you link it? And O.M.G. I love to freeze stuff! Especially when I find a sale, I need a bigger freezer actually, lol. I want to eventually only buy items when they are on sale. Because I have a reserve. Didnt know you could freeze eggs.
About those egg shells....putting a tablespoon or two of crushed egg shells in the bottom of the hole you are transplanting your tomato plant in helps them grow.
I read somewhere that freezing whole eggs this way makes the yokes rubbery..it's proberly better to scramble them first before putting in bags, that's if you want to consume them straight from bag..I will be scrambling mine just 2 at a time..don't bake as much these days so I guess keeping them who ok for baking
Patera...can you do a video showing how to cook eggs if frozen? Thaw first? Defrost slightly? Please n Thx in advance...only I'm seeing this video in 2022!
Loving all the tips & tricks I’m learning on food preservation Froze my eggs in a silicone muffin tray…..not sure why, but when I went to use them ( only frozen for 2 Months) yolks were as hard as a rock HELP what happened
I water glassed extra eggs. Use for baking or scrambled eggs. My freezer was full. Anyway, I lost a full freezer when an outlet went bad. I dehydrate , can and water glassed everything I can.
Thank you very much young lady, that is a wonderful tip only I'm a quick Breads and things like that but I try to make eggless everything but this is a good tip I eat eggs so I will be freezing them thank you
Did this and thought I could defrost and fry. The yolk isn’t the right consistency after thawing. Have you not experienced this? My husband tried to scramble, again the yolks, not great.
My Dad was a baker of a huge grocery store. Eggs came in his bakery frozen in huge gold tins like popped pop corn used to come in. They thawed them in the big cooler. That was back in the day. I have no idea how they come in nowadays.

I just started freezing my eggs right in the shells and stacked in the cartons. I cooked some and they were great!
I tried freezing raw scrambled eggs using a silicon cupcake pan. 1 egg in each and freeze. It produces nice little egg "discs." I them vacuum seal them and toss them back in the freezer.

Your bowl set made me teary 🥲 my momma had that set when I was a kid. Thank you for this we have eggs coming out of our ears.
Kudos . I grew up this way . Just forgot ways to preserve . My mom would be happy. I now have new appreciation for poultry . Thanks again .
I use a silicone muffin pan, then pop them out and store them in a gallon freezer bag.
Thanks for that great tip!!! 62 and learning something new everyday!🐣❤️

Even a small chest freezer would be a good idea, at least to start with. I buy B/G and it helps on the grocery bill.
I wasnt sure you could freeze them. Thanks. Really important now in April 2022 with the war, pandemic and chicken culls due to the bird flu epidemic. 👍👍
I pickled 20 duck eggs Monday. I like your idea of freezing eggs. I'm going to freeze eggs this weekend. Thank you!

Horehound candy. Yum! I haven't seen that in a long time.

Thank you for all of your videos and glad you are feeling better. Would you just use these for baking or are they good to make fried or scrambled?
Great tip! I was scared we would be overwhelmed with eggs.
You can preserve eggs with food grade mineral oil. If there's a power outage, what do you do with your eggs.
Thank you for the information
Thank you so much for your egg freezing tip. Love your You Tube
This bag method is how Taco Bell keeps their eggs , I was a shift manager for a while in a past life .
I water glassed extra eggs. Use for baking or scrambled eggs. My freezer was full. Anyway, I lost a full freezer when an outlet went bad. I dehydrate , can and water glassed everything I can.
Is there anything special about using the frozen eggs?

Good tip🙂
Great tip
I like my eggs over easy...can you freeze them whole without the shell separately?
