    Egg yolks have a gelatinous property in them that will thicken when frozen. By adding in salt or sugar before freezing, it will stop it from happening. Add in 1 teaspoon of salt per cup of eggs for eggs that will be used for savory items like scrambled eggs, omelets or souffles.May 1, 2020 I googled and this might be useful to you or others.

      Thank you,the UK is now rationing eggs so I'm starting to buy and looking for a work to store because Christmas will definitely be crazy, actually salt is used in almost all of the egg's preparations so salt not a bad thing.

    Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've been looking at videos that tell you to freeze them in silicone muffin containers (whole) or in ice cube trays. But they never go to the full extent of showing you how to thaw and then how they cook up. I sooo appreciate that you do show us full circle. I'm definitely going to use your method, as scrambled and in recipes is the only way I use eggs. God bless!

    Freeze whole eggs overnight. Pull out individually. Peel while frozen. Slice into 4 slices. Place slices in rows. Freeze and place in ziploc. 1) Fry individual slices 2) brownie in a cup use 1 or 2 thawed slice(s).

I bought 2 boxes of 60 eggs each and just put the whole box in the freezer because a friend told me I can freeze my eggs to preserve them a bit more. I should've done my own research. 🙉 Now I'm assuming they are all going to get freezer burn or maybe no longer he good. Any tips on what you would do in my situation?

  • @svtcontour

    Sorry maybe I missed something, but isnt the issue with your whole frozen egg that you have not thawed it through all the way? Looks like you just partially thawed it but the yolk was still frozen. Thawed some more, then there would be no issue.

    • @MOMables
      @MOMables  2 роки тому +2

      No. The issue is that the texture changes greatly. Eggs should be whisked before freezing. The yolk, after thawing, doesn’t reconstitute well on its own but ok when mixed with the white.

      Yes. Then you have 12 eggs to use at once in a scramble.

    • @MOMables

      Get a glass of extra warm water... Place whole egg in the glass. Leave it for a few minutes, it will bring the egg's tempture down to room tempture fairly quickly.

      If you soaked them in warm or hot water or microwave them you are basically cooking them. Only use tap water or leave on the counter while you are prepping your other ingredients or drink your coffee.

      You can absolutely add milk to the whisked eggs and that’s one last step you need to do!

    I use the soup tray container, o have 4 spot for 2 cups each, I add 3 eggs in each and after freezer I move them to one ziploc bag .. when I need them I just take one portion ( 3 eggs ) and done .
