      Tammy Frederick the Trini and Guyanese version cannot from the east Indians. I am St Lucian and my family makes it like the Trini/Guyanese. I love this recipe also.

    Came across your page last night after searching for a dahl tutorial which i'm doing today....Your page is so amazing, because i'm always looking for local cuisine tutorials. The best part is youre St. Lucian. I've just been binge watching your IG and UA-cam page. Thank you so much....You are absolutely sweet and beautiful

    Thanks for your video. You are the first person who has focussed on the grain and texture of the ingredients. I will surely try this recipe. You did a very good demonstration.

    Thank you so much for sharing your St. Lucian cuisine. When I was a small child, my mother married a St. Lucian in The States. But, shortly after that we moved to St. Lucia for a few years, and then we moved to Barbados for a couple of years before returning to The States.
    I have such great memories of going to market and getting floats from the same woman every time. DELICIOUS. All of the “street food” was SO GOOD!!! Being born and raised mostly in Brooklyn, NY, I was raised around many Caribbean people. But... There’s just something unique about St.Lucian cuisine.
    Unfortunately, my stepfather was murdered shortly after returning to The States. Over the years I lost contact with his family. My family. So, your videos just bring such great memories for me. I’m so happy I found your channel. I haven’t been able to find other St.Lucians on UA-cam.
    I look forward to seeing more videos. I’m trying to binge watch the videos you have up now. 😂
    P. S. I know St.Lucia isn’t that small... but I do remember it feeling small. Everyone knew everyone else. So, if by chance you or a subscriber know a Stephen Gladstone Thompson Jr., (he is my stepbrother) please reply to this comment. The last I knew, he worked for Texaco. He also played for the soccer team, that would also sometimes travel to The States. He last lived in Castries. Our grandmother’s name was Helena Thompson. Although, I’m sure she has passed away by this time. We also had an uncle who was the what we would consider the Chief Of Police back in the late 70’s through the early to mid 80’s. For some reason, I can’t remember his first name. name. But, his last name was Thompson also. Again, I was very young when I lived there in the late 70’s, early 80’s. But, he did have a young son back then named Kirkland. He had dirty blonde hair and was fair skin. Unfortunately, my mother had also passed away, so I can’t ask her for more information. I know I’m reaching... but thought I’d take a chance anyway.
    Thank you in advance to anyone who may be able to help me find them. ❤️
    I have my notifications turned on, and will be notified if anyone leaves me a response here.

    I lived in St. Lucia, in Vieux Fort, for 2 years, and I have been looking for a lot of the recipes that I have loved. Thank you for posting, and if you do get a chance, could you please list out your recipe. I love certain dishes and would love to have the recipe listed to try and replicate them at home. Thanks again for your work, this was wonderful and delicious

    • @fwb777
      @fwb777 4 роки тому +3

      There’s no dip... this has soooo much flavor on its own. The only dip you require is saliva .. because your mouth will be watering, after the 1st bite
