Been working on an 84 Cutlass Supreme and had to remove all the dash and cluster components to get access to the bulbs. Your video showed me how to safely remove the Speedometer needle. So, thank you and have a beer on me.
Thank you, auction house Elantra had a simple issue where it was out of whack since the potentiometer remembers the zero position. It was super dangerous we had to do 170mph everywhere.
Good thinking very very good thinking great job the only problem with that scenario is trying to remove them without breaking the motor because the motors are very very very finite so curiosities got me where your Motors still working after you’ve completed it that way I think it was a terrific idea regardless
Guys if you have an older BMW or l322 land rovers/jaguar/any high end brand for example. DO NOT TRY THIS METHOD. Some may have success but I guarentee you most will pull the whole shaft out of the motor with the needle still attached and then the whole dial is broken. You need a small piece of metal with a V slit on end to be slid under speedo face and be pushed against motor shaft soo you can hold shaft while you pull. Trust me its very annoying when you kill one or two dials and realise the replacement motors are 40-70£ each
I have followed this same concept several times over- it does work. You do have to be judicious and gentle, but it will work.

Thanks Tom 🍻
Thank you for this! I never would have thought to use spoons, but it worked perfectly on my Jinma tractor gauge cluster.
Thanks for the video. I was afraid I’d mess up my needle but the spoon trick worked great. Thanks again
My dude! Thank you so much I could not for the life of me find a good way to go about this until I came across your brilliant idea.
For once i followed a tutorial and nothing went wrong!
Great info right here.
Great to hear!
I went with the genuine OEM spoons. Only $150 but wow, very impressive.

I was very gentle and precise with the removal and re-installation. Everything worked well after 👍
Awesome pro tip! Worked like a charm on my 2010 F150.
Glad it helped!
Awesome. Was so worried about breaking. Spoons worked great!
That's a genius move - now I can tackle replacing a burnt out builb...
Very helpful and clever.

very helpful, thank you
Love it, 👍🏻 great job.
Worked great!!!!
Thank you!
Thanks man it really worked Thanks 🎉
Does not always work, some needles will never come off without shearing the shaft. Trust me I have seen them pop off easily but also refuse to budge.
Thanks!
Genius!
How about with 2022 nissan leaf?
i only have one spoon, will this still work?
Guess what I’m about to do…
