I have XBOX One X and a Vizio M-Series 65" 2017 TV and 4K Blue Ray looks great on TV. HDR stands out as well. Now that Dolby Vision is come this will be a great solution for Blue Ray, Streaming Netflix and Hulu.
Considering the fact that it's a console and it's able to play 4k blu rays with Dolby Atmos and HDR. And all the games that play better on the X. Great value for money in my opinion.
For real, God of War, Uncharted 4, Horizon Zero Dawn, just to name a few are so amazing on.....oh wait...
All jokes aside, if you're willing to spend the money on an Xbox 110, then you should be willing to buy a PC. Any game you can play on the Xbox, you can play on PC. Which is why I have a PS4 Pro and a gaming PC with a GTX1070.
@@ThisGuyDrives Can you play 4K movies on your PC or PS4 Pro?
Mr Anderson God of war is a bad game.
@@ThisGuyDrives You are wrong. I own a Custom PC and X box One X and can tell you that games like Red Dead Redemption and God Of War are not available on PC
I like my strategy games sat at a desk or on my laptop, and I like my action games and films in 4k on a 55" TV.
Hey just watched your update video....I really enjoy your videos and appreciate what you do! Please don’t let these internet trolls get you flustered and put out such a aggressive video. You speak in facts and always inform keep it up I really appreciate it!
Thanks Rell!! Sometimes I just have to get it out, you know?
I don't want to say your incorrect in the Atmos thing, but you are. Atmos is enabled all the time...sure, BUT it WILL matrix down any signal that doesn't include positional sound into a 2/5/7.1/2 channel audio stream so your receiver needs a firmware update or something because my pioneer rcvr handles the content perfectly.
I did a lot of research before I ordered my Blu-ray player and when I watched HDTV tests video comparing a 4K Blu ray player vs the Xbox One X I was happy with my choice. I bought the Panasonic DMP UB700 and It's amazing when it comes to video processing. It's rocking with my Epson EH TW9300W (6040UB in the states) and the options you have to set-up your home Theater system is on a different level. It really simple. If you what good picture quality, buy a dedicated br-player.
This is my first video of watching and it was very helpful your I really chill guy so ima sub
Thank you! I'm super stoked to have you as a subscriber. I've got a lot more cool content on the way!!
Thanks for explaining all of this !
As long as my video games play silky smooth, the blue ray player is just a bonus😎
Danny P. Bingo!
Actually, the "*Blu-Ray player" is the main piece of the pie when it comes to movie entertainment.
For Blu-ray playback just select the Blu-ray pass through option in the audio settings and your AVR will handle all the audio processing
Does this “pass thru” Dolby Atmos sound from disks as well?
Great video, Lots of useful information.
@Techno Dad, I didn’t notice the atmos always on Xbox until sometime between March and May. I finished my home theater last October, and it definitely was not messed up like it is now. My AVR(Pioneer Elite SC97) so switch all the time depending on what I was doing. When Spider-Man Homecoming came out was the last time I saw the change ofaudio type. Weirdly enough the Blu-ray was Neural X and the 4K disc was Atmos
Thanks so much for the info.
The Atmos all the time issue mentioned in the video is actually a huge asset if one has an Atmos Soundbar. The upmixing on the XBox is the same as Dolby Access on Windows 10 machine (same issue with Atmos all the time) and it sounds much better in most cases than the upmixing on my Samsung K950 soundbar. You can send your other devices through the hdmi input and get upmixing from all your other devices, but you must feed dolby to the input as it won't accept DTS. So for fandangonow, discs or files with DTS HD (VLC) using the Xbox for playback gets you DTSHD upmixed to Atmos. Frankly with a lot of Atmos tracks upmixing the dolbytruehd or dd+ core often gives better voices, ambience, and music via the Atmos all the time on the Xbox. As far as video goes the Xbox is not the best with anything. Acceptable video. Its killer app is the Atmos all the time "problem". FandangoNow DTSHD great, but not 4K HDR yet. Only device that does Netflix with Atmos and now DV/Atmos once out of beta.
To me it’s just good to have the options. And to have all my devices up to date with DV.
Thank you so much for the information, it was helpful for me
You’re very welcome!
Thanks very informative.
Thank You So much Techno Dad... You really saved me like a real Dad. I was planning to buy Xbox One S here in India only for the feature Dolby Atmos... Thank God you have that review on it.. I would rather upgrade my Apple TV to 4K and I should be good to go. I hope Apple will provide Dolby Vision maybe in 2020. Anyways. Thank you so much. Subscribed and liked.
No problem, glad I could help!!
Great video! I have a Xbox one S with a 50" Samsung UHD 7 series tv. Works great ! I might go w/ a dedicated 4k player down the line tho
Still rocking 2015 No HDR/DV 4K TV, so Xbox one S works just fine for Me. Bitstream on/off Ok switching for Now. Thanks for the info.
Me too still using one s streaming is getting expensive I buy dvds off ebay and dvds u can watch any time streaming takes movies off and gaming is expensive
I see a potential 1 million sub channel. All the Best 😎👍
I have 4k TCL 50p6000us running Linux os connected to Yamaha YHT 1840 (HTR-2071) via HDMI (ARC) and the sound cuts off every 2 seconds streaming Nextflix with dolby digital plus. Please anyone can help to solve this? If I turn off dolby digital plus it works fine. I dont want to use optical cable as alternative.
Hey after an update last year I got the same ATMOS bug always on of the content ha e atmos it's fine bit if 5.1 ....can even upmix too
Xbox x oled c8 sk9 sound bar perfect 👌🏻
Hey TD... I'm having issues getting my Blu-ray discs to play on my Xbox one X while it's running through my Sony HT-Z9F Dolby Atmos Sound bar... The TV display comes up and says that there's no signal. Any Suggestions? I contacted MS and they just want to replace my console...
Hi Techno Dad. I have the same issue when I am watching Netflix on my Xbox One S connected to my Denon 6400H (which I think is the model one step above yours). Now I don't know if this is related but the other day I was watching the standard blurays of Alien vs Predator (2004) and Behind Enemy Lines and noticed that the dialog was kinda low and the special effects were very loud when ever they occurred. Now this was not the case when I was watching the bluray 4k UHD of Independence Day: Resurgence. As far as audio stuttering or cutting off goes I have not experience that since I only have Netflix. I have a 7.1.4 setup and what I had encountered is when I choose 7.1 uncompressed from my Xbox One S, my 2 left and right surround channels would come out of the 2 back speakers when watching Netflix and playing games.
Honestly if it's better looking than streaming services then I'm fine with it, the Xbox having a 4k Blu Ray player was just a nice bonus for me. I do wonder how the newer Series X compares to the One S/X to see if they upgraded it's capabilities at all.
Thanks for all the info I didn't even know the Xbox was like that
Nicely done 👌🏽
Thank you!
For films I set it to allow my amp to decode. Gives me Atmos when I have Atmos. For games I don’t have the issue as the console is set to uncompressed. Not had audio issues myself.
Do you know if all this processing in the Xbox is chip based or software? I think it is software so they should be able to improve it. Now what someone needs to do is get the to calibrate their monitors\TVs that they have set up and Microsoft to make sure the colors are accurate.
I found out long time ago that console video playback is not so great compared to a dedicated DVD/ Blu-ray player. Still is true today. Good enough entry level player to use till one can transition/ upgrade to a dedicated player. Can't wait for Panasonic 820 to come out to market.
Techo Dad thanks for the video, got my Xbox setup with bitstream using one of the linked videos (I was wondering why my AVR wasn't showing Dolby Atmos when I had inserted one in the Xbox One S.) Relevant to this video, what are your thoughts on the importance of 4:2:0 to 4:4:4 when playing on a projector? Projectors don't get quite the same black as a high end OLED even with a blacked out room ( there's going to be some sort of light coming back to the screen at 100"+ in a regular room.) Thanks!
Hi Techno Dad. Can you tell me does xbox have subtitle shift option for blu-ray or for any streaming apps? I'm using 2.35:1 screen and really need to get subs shifted up.
As far as audio goes I can still have bitstream out and just change the bit stream out from dts digital surround ,to Dolby digital to digital Atmos for home theatre(HDMI only). So for the HDMI settings it can stay on bit stream out.You don't have to turn off bit stream off.So you dont have to change it from bit stream out to stereo uncompressed or 5.1 uncompressed or 7.1 uncompressed. Now if you want to you can,but bit stream out can stay on.You just would have to change it from atoms Todd's digital surround or digital Dolby. So there are two menu options. One saying HDMI audio, and another menu sayingBitstream out format. You can also use Optical audio from stereo uncompressed to bit stream out.I think it's impressive that the Xbox one s had a blue ray player and the Sony ps3 didn't,yet Sony is the owner of Blue ray. Also it being a 4k Blue ray player and a game Council is pretty impressive for the price point. When the Xbox one s was released,if you bought a 4k Blue ray player alone it would of been a price that would be expensive compared to getting a game Council and a 4k Blue ray player combined for a little more money. The few cons don't out weigh the pros when you consider everything. It has apps.It has a great headphones experience. It just makes more scence to me.As far as the video. It has allow 50 Hz,allow 24 Hz,it has allow low-latance mode,it has allow variable refresh rate,it has allow 3D,it has allow acc 4:2:2,it has allow 4k,it has allow HDR,and has allow Dolby Vision. That is pretty impressive to me,Just my opinion, but what do I know...............I'm not a big time tech guy.I just go by what the price point was and now is and the options that are available
Bought an used Xbox One S for 60€ and it works perfrctly fine for me
Yeah I use both of my Xboxes (S,X) as my 4K players. With DV coming I see no need to upgrade. I know the video quality surfers a little, but it's not that bad.
Regarding Dolby Atmos yeah mines is to bitstream out but I've never had an audio menu issues with my AVR set to passthrough. Now I've heard the stutter audio from time to time and yeah I've had to change audio back to 7 1 PCM.
Man I need your help here please! I have xbox one x and I want to buy the Panasonic ub820 player did you have test that ? And did the audio will be better if I switched from xbox to player ? It's very limited stock on the ub820 , I need to be sure that I'm buying the right stuff
I have no audio problem with the Xbox One X when playing Atmos on Netflix or shows that don't support Atmos with my Yamaha AV 1070 maybe just a problem with the Xbox One X and your Denon my work Yamaha perfectly fine and I have a Panasonic UB900 what I used to watch all my ultra 4K Blu-ray Xbox one X picture quality is not as good
It happened on all the AVRs I had in over the past year. Yamaha V583, Onkyo NR676, Sony 1080, and both the Denon X6300H and X4400H. Maybe it has to do with specific apps and/or content.
Sorry if this is mentioned in the comments already but if you select bistream on the xbox
and select; let the receiver select audio ( or something along those lines) you are good to go.
My Xbox One S gets loud while playing 4K discs. Does the Xbox One X also get loud?
I have an xbox x going into a marantz 6011 and just bought that new saving private Ryan in atmos but my A/V receiver only shows it playing in Dolby True .I have already got the xbox in bitstream dont know what else to do.
Hi! Yeah, that's tough. I would try deleting the Dolby Access app, and then re-installing it and configuring bitstream again. See if that works.
The Chromecast Ultra also supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision so that would make the Xbox the Third. Not sure why Amazon's cube didn't add DV and it would also be on par. Good video you cleared up the color for me, so I know for sure to buy the Panasonic UB820.
That's awesome! I didn't know that. Gonna have to get one! I should be getting my UB820 soon. I think pre-orders are going to be sent out the end of this week or end of next week.
When watching a (non-4K) Blu-ray on the Xbox One X on a 4K TV, does it make sense to change the Xbox output to 1080p to match the Blu-ray and allow the TV to upscale to 4K instead of the Xbox?
thinking about returning my Panasonic for the X. Has it improved as a 4k player in the last year? I know it added a bunch of features like Dolby Vision.... You should do an update video since the market has changed.
It still does not support DV on a 4K disc.
I don't have this issue thankfully, it detects whatever audio output is coming from it. I was having an issue where my Xbox would reset my TV through my vizio 5.1.2 sound system. Then my TV got an update and it somehow just fixed itself and has been fine ever since.
My receiver is on atmos all the time too but i dont have all these issues
Yeah, it probably has to do with lots of factors. Could be cables, AVR brand, specific app, specific shows. It could be any of those things.
Any idea if any updates fixed the studdering issue from 4 years ago?
it could be a receiver issue as well. I own an Xbox one S, 4k- atmos Onkyo receiver and LG OLED65G6P and I don't have issues with audio at all the receiver recognize the Atmos until movies start playing
I think that's why I recently they updated it for the audio is a lot better you can go straight through
I can't get my 2600H to say Atmos. I am using a 5.1.2 setup. When I pick bitstream/Atmos my reciver only says multi channel. Using 5.1 uncompressed I get multi channel + Dsur?
Did you set up the avr for Atmos? What does your amp assign screen look like? What does your speaker config screen look like? Email me if you need help - technodad55 at gmail dot com.
I too have the audio problem with Dolby Atmos being active all the time. I am using an LG SK9Y with Dolby Atmos. No matter what sound format I switch to Dolby Atmos is being outputted. On some discs with only DTS, I have to turn off Dolby Atmos on the Xbox X because no sound is outputted. I also had a problem playing 3D discs. The discs would only playback in 2D, even though the discs played back in 3D on my PS4 and OPPO players. I researched this problem online and the only solution that worked was to change the AUTO HDMI setting of the XBOX to manual and that forced played the discs in 3D. I'm new to the Xbox X system and I think they should address these problems, very disappointed that these issues have not been fixed. FYI everything is up to date as far as firmware goes. The OPPO player which is not up to date in its firmware to preserve the ISO playback still played everything perfectly. Is anyone else having issues with Blu-Ray 3D playback?
When I first had the X, launch week, it didn't show Atmos until it actually played Atmos. But sometimes it would not play Atmos when it needed to. Now it is forcing Atmos and stuttering. How is this so difficult for them to figure out?
Not sure. I think t has to do with so many different aspects that they just can't keep up with everything
Does it do vision with a disc
do you sell the cambridge audio cxu hd?
Fortunately what you said is enough for me hehe just wanted to know if there it was something like image stuttering or audio glitching too hard i mean if 5.1 fixes the audio stuttering then no problem thanks for the info
It does matter to me. I noticed when I play 4k on pc on my 600 dollar tv, the difference is noticeable from x box one s. The s is not bright. Feels like the Xbox one s it's missing quality. Picture quality looks cheaper. I'm talking about the 4k blu rays here. When it streams 4k it is good though 🤔...maybe it's the 4k drive that ain't that good
I have a question about some things. I bought a LG 49UK6200PLU TV its just a 49" UHD 4K TV. So my next question is can I buy a blu ray player that provides dolby vision and actualy get it or is my tv not compatible? Also I bought a UBPX700 Sony 4k player and returned it because it was open already? I want to buy the LG SK5Y sound bar I want Dolby atmos what do you recommend I do to get dolby atmos
Does it show Dolby Vision on the box of your TV? I can't find anything on that TV here in the US.
Even Though not everyone has the atmos bug. atmos is working fine my end, plus since update for rgb fix, colours in 4k are now correct. it's a great player and value. mis leading video.
Yup..he needs to update this video.
It's the same UHD player in both , why the comparison vid?
When I open the Netflix app on my Xbox one my tv goes into hdr even though not all the movies on Netflix aren’t in hdr
OMG! I totally FORGOT to mention this! It's been a real problem for me as well. Thanks for the reminder. This really needs to get fixed.
Is that a bad thing? I saw Jurassic Park at hdr lol
Yeah garbage gang it messes up the colors I use the Netflix app on my Samsung Qled tv it’s way better
Actually this happens on lg television app streaming direct
It's not just down to Xbox one X
MS are working on the allways Atmos problem. The issue is apparently because of Dolby MAT switching that confused some AVRs. Finding a solution is apparently not easy, and I have no idea how they are going to fix that...
Not sure why the Audio stutters, but it happens in Games as well, and MS seems to be unable to find and fix the issue so far which is worrying.
My xbox one x won't stay in bit stream and atmos. It just takes a sec to fix but it won't stay. I have a k950 sammy atmos sound bar too.
Strange.
Hi techno dad, how to connect x box s to 5.1 home theater and 4k tv simultaneosly. If i am connecting my tv through home theater i am loosing 4k hdr content to tv. Please advise me to how to connect to home theater without losing 4k content on tv
Hi! What AVR do you have? Also, you would connect your Xbox into the AVR and then send the video out to your 4K TV.
@@TechnoDad Thanks for ur reply, i connected my xbox output to avr input and avr output to tv. I am using high speed hdmi cables. My AVR is sony htiv300 which is capable for 4k pass through and 4k upscaling. I made all required 4k settings in tv and AVR. if remove avr and connecting xbox output to tv directly means its working fine.
Can any one tell me Xbox one x supports .m2ts and .mkv format over hard disk contains Dolby atmos and Dolby vision
I don’t think so...
I expected if there would be any word on projector connection from Xbox one S/X. I have epson 4010 not native 4K. Using Xbox one s and Roku for streaming. Purchased apple 4K but thinking if I should open it or return it!!! There was a struggle getting Dolby atoms setup done in Xbox but finally got it.
In terms of picture, would the Apple TV makes difference in picture quality on my projector?
Hi! I think you should be fine with the Xbox going to your projector.
What is the part # for xbox one s blue ray dis player? Because I want to get the right one.It got old in trash .
I'm not sure.
I have a xbox one x to play games and the himedia q10 pro for movies
I’m happy with the One S as a blu-ray player but underwhelmed by it as a 4K blu-ray player. Was thinking of upgrading to the One X, but now, after your video , I’m not so sure. :(
I would go with a dedicated player
TY TD!
I think that the most important pro is that we get double D on a game console. The processing will not affect the quality. Thanks for the video.
Whats the best tv for the Xbox one x? I currently have an LG 47in tv.
It's tough to say. What model do you have?
Hi have an xbox one s and a sony soundbar that supports for 4k passthrough and Dolby atoms works well no issue
I'm planning to buy a One S, the issues that he mentioned are fixed? Is the image quality great?
@@Tunometecabra96 do you think that xbox one s is better than a ps4 pro
@@mhughes1272 not the S, the X sure thing why though?
Very knowledgeable thanks now I know what I wanted to know. Only one thing is how to set the xbox one s to upscale normal blu rays. I will stick to my Sony upb x800. Just thought this may be a good alt player to use if I got a uhd TV for upstairs. But I am not going to be happy with this as a uhd player. But if I can get it to upscale blu rays properly it would be worth using for that sometimes as then I am not using hdr. I tried every setting I can think. You see my uhd player says 4k/24p when I play a normal blu Ray. But this just says 1080p when I play a normal blu Ray, no matter what I set it to. I love my uhds but I still got a ton of blu rays that aren't available on uhd yet. Anyway yes very informative video. Picked up a sub.
Thank you for sharing your experience Zombeat, and thank you for subscribing!!
Hi, just watched your video. I bought an Xbox one S on a budget for movies and games a few years ago, but I’ve been wanting to get a dedicated player for months. I have a 65” LG OLED and decided to order a LG UBK90 4K player. Hopefully I made the right choice.
Hi! Not a bad one. I haven’t had issues with my UBK90
@@TechnoDad you have a better suggestion that’s an LG? I’m always open to suggestions .

The constant audio switching is what pushed me to get a dedicated player.
Do you need to connect to the internet or have a Microsoft account to play disks?
No, you shouldn’t. Although, you may have to download the app, so you’ll need an internet connection for that.
There's one more PRO to Xbox: availability.
Here in Brazil June 2020 you have NO NATIVE 4K player on the market. Not one.
That’s true!!
God help Brazil.
Also teckno dad the HD test video u link to is from last year..this too has been fixed in a recent update..any chance of doing a update of this video please..soo much miss information out their on Xbox one 4k playback as it is..long time fan..keep up the gud work
Will put it in the description!
dont . They might have fix some issues but still I'm having issues playing some 4K blu rays having to unplug the power from the Xbox S because some how got stuck doing nothing but showing a blue screen. That's why I got an Oppo 203 , Great player and not issues at all .
no problems on my side.
And like some other user said.
If you playing any kind of blurays (UHD included) you need to check the "Let my receiver decode audio" option in the "Disc & Blu-ray" menu.
You will have zero problems with audio and bluray discs.
Alpha skip ahed preview
Yup! That box is checked. You wouldn't get Atmos if it wasn't checked. I still have problems.
Techno Dad I think you should update the video itself, about the fixed colors, since most people, watching this on an UA-cam app on the tv, consoles etc. won’t be able to read the description.
Hi Techno Dad, in regards to the "forced Atmos" issue I do not experience the same problem. There was an Xbox dashboard update that added Atmos support to the dashboard before any game or movie is loaded. The beeping noises from moving around the menu now play in surround sound. It's pointless and annoying to listen to, but when I try to play non Atmos content my STRDN-1080 switches to PCM, Linear, DTS, etc automatically. I do not need to switch between bitstream on and off when changing content and haven't noticed any glaring audio bugs yet in the last 9 months or so.
That's awesome Aaron!
+Techno Dad
Have you ever tried the One X or One S with a Yamaha AVR and seen whether the Atmos Audio stutter also occurs on Yamaha AVRs?
Hi! Yes, I have. The Yamaha V-583, and the issues persists.
@@TechnoDad
So, back to reporting it to Microsoft...they will hope find and fix it eventually...
What about sound quality? If you're watching the movie, Immortal Beloved , the Beethoven bio pic or Amadeus another bio pic where sound quality is VERY important.
I bought the 65 inch lg oled E9500 and use xbox one as my 4k player. I've never been impressed with any of the disc's, (terminator 2,labyrinth, fast & furious 7 etc) they look bland and muted. Could it be the Xbox? I'm also using audio quest diamond hdmi
Hi Alex. First of all the movies you are watching do not have a 4K DI (Digital Intermediate) so you won’t really be wowed by the PQ. Check out The Revenant, Sicario, Lucy, Chappie, and even a movie like Allied was shot in 6K with a 4K DI. Most movies have a 2K DI so it’s not at its fullest quality due to special effects rendered at 2K. Also, I’m not sure if your OLED has HDR. Couldn’t find anything about it on LGs site...unless I’m blind.
@@TechnoDad Definitely has HDR, when something on Netflix, UA-cam or from a Blu Ray comes on with the feature, it pops on in a notification
Okay cool! I couldn’t see that on the website. So yeah, check out those movies as they have 4K DIs and should look pristine. They look amazing on my OLED. It could definitely be the Xbox as well. Planet Earth II looked good on the XB1X but looked awesome on my OPPO. I think you might be able to find a used LG UBK90 on eBay or something like that.
found if you go to Settings > Disc & Blu-ray > Blu-ray, uncheck "Let my receiver decode audio" the issue is fixed.
Yeah, I already have it set like that, still having issues in the HBO GO app
Techno Dad don’t use that app, but it did fix my issues with the UHD disks I have..
That's awesome!
Great video man! Question. Have you done a video reviewing the Sony HT-Z9F soundbar? If not, would you be willing to? I'd love to hear your take on it.
Hi! No I have not heard that one.
Techno Dad it was released a few months ago. It’s a Dolby atmos sound bar! I think it would make for a very interesting video
Yeah, I can't do Atmos bounce, which most soundbars do. So I wouldn't be able to give a proper review because of my room.
No Atmos bounce, sound comes straight at you with very little overhead effects. Check Spare Change's review, you'll probably be better with the LG SK10Y or Sony HT ST5000.
Caleb Conaway ua-cam.com/video/IB6zmnXHBsE/v-deo.html
Great vid, just wondering how difficult will it be for Microsoft to fix these issues via software update, especially the picture issue? Or is the Xbox one s/x picture processing problem hardware related in away that software update can not resolve?
The atmos issue is clearly software related because it's a feature added later, and therefore solvable.
My question remains regarding the picture? Do you know is it a hardware Achilles heel or software correctable? If it is software related has Microsoft acknowledged the fault and are they working towards fix?
Hi! Not sure what the situation is. It could just be software related but I have no clue where the breakdown occurs.
Now I know why the hd movies look better than 4k hdr movies on my xbox s. I did many calibration using the xbox calibration, the wow disc, and internet programs. The colors don't pop up in hdr, they look better on regular hd.
I have a Samsung ks8000 tv, so I don't think is the tv.
I saw a big difference from 1080p going to the Xbox One X watching movies in 4k HDR and for me it looks good it's just a little bit surprising that I can look even better but same time I only have a $800 4K TV from Samsung but for me it's good enough
Imo, all the things mentioned will not affect 98%of users. For instance I went away from all that crazy sound and only run two klipsh tower speakers in stereo so the audio bug is irrelevant! And as far as the video conversion I'm thinking maybe Microsoft skips that prossecing step to help in video lag as the Xbox is ment to be a video game console first and then a media console! I could be wrong but that's my theory! If you are a movie nut with thousands of dollars in equipment than definitely go standalone but for most people the Xbox one ☓ is perfect!
I can't get atmos working on netflix on xbox one s, 4k blu rays work fine
Xbox One S vs Sony UBP-X700. I'm getting a 4KTV mainly for movies, which should I pick?
Hi! I would go with the Sony X700 over the XB1S
I wonder if turning off bitstream will fix the HORRIBLE lip sync issue I'm having with Amazon video.
Probably! I have to turn it off and select 5.1 uncompressed in Xbox settings to avoid choppy audio on certain types of content.
My question is can Microsoft fix the audio and video topics you talked about, with a firmware update?
Not sure. I think someone told me it was a Netflix issue. I may have been fixed but I'm not 100% sure.
Audio bugs definitely I've heard this myself. Also as of late it seems the Xbox is getting a little lazy on keeping video refreshed seeing some pixelelating. With 4k content and on games. Hope its not my TCL it doesn't get run a lot and its not a year old yet.
I realize this sounds like a stupid question but as someone without Wi-Fi who just purchased their very first 4K television is Wi-Fi necessary to play 4K blu-rays with my Xbox one?
Hi! I don't think so, unless you don't have all the new updated apps on the Xbox...
Thanks! I have a xbox one x and I have the same shudder you referred to. I took back a Onkyo because I thought it was the receivers fault. I will change it to 5.1 uncompressed right away.
That sucks Walt! It's a very strange issue and it doesn't look like it happens to everyone. Thanks for sharing!
you are good!
Thanks!
non 4k blurays have dolby atmos too. that should work too?
Yes, it should
When Xbox get dolby Vision should do a comparison with the Sony x700
Good call!!
Hopefully the series X and PS5 will have ultra hd nailed and give some competition to stand alone players (means standalone players prices will drop).
Halo. Can i play on Xbox One X Blu ray player Dolby Vision Blu ray Disc in Dolby Vision?
Hi! No, that functionality is not yet figured out.
@@TechnoDad Hy. Thank you for the fast answer.
Hello, just to be clear you stated that Microsoft announced DV for both streaming and physical discs. That is not true. DV is only supported on Netflix on the Xbox.
Yeah, I made an update video to this one. No DV on disc, only for Netflix.
