The only noticeable downgrade here is the volumetric lighting that's missing at the beginning. Otherwise it's basically the same + even some added environmental objects. Also the performance in the demo is abysmal, the final game seems to run well as far as i've seen from streamers today.
i think the demo look a lot like ray trace lightning that's maybe the reason why: shadows looks clearer, emissive lightning is gone and the performance got up
It's PC, you don't need to downgrade to get "better performace". That's the whole point for graphics settings. There should be 0 justification for forced downgrade on pc

I also see that they reduced the Ray Tracing effects, also good news to the performance. Very good job, I'm really happy, that they delayed the game's launch by a YEAR. the incredibly small lighting backdrop and volumetric downgrades aren't even a big deal. They added fire and some effects to a few areas, the water he walked through had no effects really in demo, but it moves more realistically in the full release. Imagine the retail game having visual upgrades to the demo. Couldn't be Ubisoft.

looks like they decreased the atmospheric effects to make the game more clear and for better performance. And most of it can be achieved by reshade again who wants it. So there is no reason to hate the game because of that and people who have that kind of system and wants the similar effects of the demo then try reshade. Or if the game is made on UE5 then you can use UUU5 to unlock/add all these same effects. Looks like gears type of game, i am definitely gonna play it.

In the demo, lights have more details, more bloom to high end lights, more and better volumetric lights, seems to have a higher quality cinematic motion blur, maybe better occlusion ambiant, more muzzle flash effects, ennemies aren't lighten which looks more cinematic
If by "lightened enemies" you mean the yellow outline, thats the active use of the Auspex Scan ability. The demo either doesnt use it, or didnt have it yet. You can fight without it, but it's not recommended

Its not muted. Demo Video was probably subjected to color correction, to make it more appealing.

Demo is shot in 25 FPS to achieve cinematic look. Also color correction was applied.

Volumetric fog was toned down so much that the atmosphere didn't feel the same. Main character self-shadow also newhere to be seen in the final game.
Also the FPS in the retail is about 2x better .. more importantly
