We never get an exact date, so there's a theory that Cato Sicarius is dealing with a trial of Ventris or some such lengthy event that had him away from the company and Titus was acting Captain during that time.
From what we see in the game footage released so far, this is incorrect. The game takes place post Guilliman’s return and Cato Sicarius is either off doing the test Guilliman handed him or being the Captain of his personal bodyguards. The captain of the 2nd Company is actually the guy we see in the trailer asking if Titus has any problem with being demoted to Lieutenant afaik.

Great recap. I'm glad that the first game is canon now and we got to know what Titus has been up to. I never liked the "Titus is a blank theory" either. My assumption has always been that his resistance to the warp manifested early into Titus' career when he was the sole survivor of his squad that confronted and slew a Chaos Sorcerer. However, being a Psyker and smiting the enemies of humanity with bio-lightning or other psyker abilities would be pretty wizard and I won't mind seeing that in SM2

You truly delivered justice to this legendary game. Fun fact : Space Marine was my first TPS AND the only TPS I have ever played until Helldivers 2. Since I'm a RTS player, this game has standed out from the rest of my steam gallery.
My hype for this Sequel is growing stronger every day. It'd be insane to use Psychic powers halfway through the campaign and considering one of the enemy factions you fight it would be especially cool. I didn't know the story of the 1st game was continued through other ways than Boltgun (I haven't played Space Marine until maybe 2 years ago) so knowing that Inquisitor Thrax himself got corrupted is kinda ironic. Also cool to know how Titus ended up becoming a Primaris Marines. Anyway, I'm super hyped for the game and really hope it delivers better than most AAA games lately but I feel confident! (and fuck Leandros, me and my homies hate Leandros)
Me too! I’m really hoping it lives up to up to the hype. Ya Boltgun didn’t have that many additions as it was definitely more gameplay focused than story, but it was cool to revisit graia and hear about some SM2 characters. Thanks for watching! SCREW LEANDROS
Leandros is a nerd, but keep in mind that from where he’s standing: 1. His commander’s first action is to blindly disregard the rules of the Imperium, almost have his head cleaned off by orks, Have a chaos lord call his commander a “brother” a bunch, his commander is able resist raw warp energy which the Chaos lord is like “oh shit, you’re pretty in-tune with the warp” which no one can explain, your commander is spared by chaos lord despite the fact that he’d almost without a doubt lose the fight, and the whole time basically saying “you know the Imperium rules suck. Maybe think for yourself?” Like it’s kinda reasonable to think maybe something’s wrong
Not a lot people hate him for that, as you said those are some good reason to be concerned. What we hate is that he called the inquisition, as, per the codex astartes, if there is such concern the correct course of action is to inform your chapters chaplains who along with the librarians will conduct a thorough examination of said individual. So not only was he kind of whinny through out the game, but he then committed an act of hypocrisy and betray by getting the inquisition involved. Hope this explains 😊
This video is so cool, I laugh many times. Sidonius quote, Nemeroth turning into Prince and so on. Especially thank you for cute Lieutenant Mira's model
2:03 Now I could be wrong but I remember somewhere that those Guardsmen had just finished fighting another ork waagh and where suppose to resupply before being redirected. So these boys and gals held out while understrenght from the moment they entered the system.
If I remember correctly, the events of Space Marine happen at a very specific point in time that Cato Sicarius (the current 2nd Ultramarines cpatain) was either at a hearing/trial or on another crusade (I can't remember off the top of my head), which actually allows Titus to be the stand-in captain of the Ultramarines 2nd company, allowing the game and its sequel to be canon :) Edit: so I may be dumb, but it’s also possible that Titus was captain straight up before Cato
I know nothing about Warhammer lore and you just totally pulled me into learning more with this video, really excited for this game to come out, thank you for the video and love the drawings.
Forge World Graia in the Segmentum Tempestus, not to be confused with Forge World _Graia_ in the Segmentum _Tempestus._ Being fair though Space Marine came out before AdMech had any models that weren't the IG Regimental Enginseer so thats why you don't see legions of Skitarii defending the world or the Graian Crown turning the Ork fleet into scrap metal... wait its already scrap metal... what do you figuratively turn Ork stuff into?
2:49 he does the Halo 3 orbital jump and does one better over Master Chief by doing so without a helmet, thus earning a steam achievement? Or Red Bull sponsorship! :D
Captain Titus has a phat ass. On a separate note I hope they’ve improved the Imperial Guardsmen animations from the demo. But ultimately I’m hype for SM2
Dude, the writing in this video is so insanely good. Loved every minute of it. Actually makes me want to play the first game now. I want you to be my history teacher, lol.
I feel that shows how potent the weapon is. Iirc it’s confirmed to work on tau, so it’s a pretty powerful weapon considering its warp based system. Thanks for watching!
Ya I agree. I think GW did a lot of stuff to make it fit the lore better than initially thought, so it seems they want it to be actual canon. Thanks for watching!
Really cool looking back before the game was out at your take. I actually really love the latent psyker theory and hope it becomes canon in whatever they do next since they didn't really touch on it before and spent their time 're-establishing' Titus' character, which honestly was probably the right choice. I do hope that we see him again soon and he gets up to full 'captain level' shenanigans again like in the first game. I'm more than okay if his feats rival that of Sicarius given it's now canon he was captain of the 2nd *before* him- I'd actually like Titus' character to develop to the point where he's a serious contender for Calgar's position and they could do a cool subplot where perhaps he has to choose between pursuing that and the path of a Librarian (because let's be honest GW needs the flexibility with their writing to be able to keep him canon and fit him in 'nicely' with the blue bois) I'd really like to see him in books and full on stories after he's been set up well enough, espetially if they write it so that the games cover his biggest events and the lore fills in the gaps and other major-but-not-quite-as-huge events. I also really want to see him meet Guilliman in game tbh, that'd be very hard to pull off but amazing
Never seen your channel or videos before, but looking forward to SpaceMarine 2. Never played the first so was looking for a lore catchup and your video is the standout best pick IMO. Best art and humor. Thank you!
great video! As a tip, I recommend briefly explaining terms and references to the warhammer lore, such as warp, chaos, etc. as new people are not going to know what they are referencing. I'm a big fan of the total war games so I mostly knew all the references but I know a lot of people do not have any prior context to the world
Man there are so many hype moments in this game, but the one that sticks out is at the end where you charge across a defended choke point full of demons and Chaos Marines with members of multiple Loyalist chapters fighting besides you. I can't wait to pay the sequel, but i hope the ending is as good as everything that precedes it.
Im a big 40k nerd and how I always rationale the videogames is that the broad strokes are true. In Space Marine the Ultramarines 2nd Company, who were temporarily under the command of Titus instead of Sicarius for some reason, assisted in the Grimskull war. In Boltgun a member of the Ultramarines did better against Daemons than expected In Blood and Teef an Ork managed to kill more White Scars than would be expected for a Boy

Just beat Space Marine the other week in prep for space marine 2. Watching this made me laugh so hard.
You’re so accurate on the story.🤣
Ya I was doing the same lmao, just took some notes during the cutscenes. Glad you enjoyed the vid!
This has such late 2000s-2010s humor. I love it.
I had to click like 10 videos and exclaim in frustration of why I couldn't find a video exactly like this to fill me in. Thanks!
Lameandros is now his canon name, this little sh** !
🤣🤣 it’s fitting for such a dude
“Ummm, aktchuallllly this goes against the Codex Astartes Community Standards Captain Titus. Your armor has been disabled from using a Boltgun for 30 days.”
You see like a cool, humble and well informed guy. Thank you for your work. Like your drawing style a lot, I know ( my brother, my neph and my brother in law are artists ) how difficult it is to draw like this. I liked and subbed five minutes in the first vid I watched.
5:06 Captain what?!?!
Captain titty
You heard him (:
I did not
Crazy how good your content is mate all the creativity and clear passion for Warhammer fucking love it, ya channel is 100% gonna blow up soon enough lad!
Thanks a lot! I’m hoping so, it’d be awesome for more people to see my stuff!
Of course Titus has such a badass name like Demetrian
I am replaying the first one right now! So perfect timing as always. Also the subtle change to Grimskulls pants when he became a material girl had me dying lol!
Ya it was fun to replay the game for this video, everything just gets me more hyped for SM2! Lmao glad you liked that gag🤣
@@KrakDuk look at you getting paid to play video games! Dreams are coming true!
I loved discovering this channel recently because everything is literally drawn on your face, with no excuses for those who don't understand.
I only just beat this game for the first time a couple weeks ago. Great game!
Leandros is a nerd, but keep in mind that from where he’s standing:
1. Maybe think for yourself?”
Like it’s kinda reasonable to think maybe something’s wrong
Not a lot people hate him for that, as you said those are some good reason to be concerned. What we hate is that he called the inquisition, as, per the codex astartes, if there is such concern the correct course of action is to inform your chapters chaplains who along with the librarians will conduct a thorough examination of said individual. So not only was he kind of whinny through out the game, but he then committed an act of hypocrisy and betray by getting the inquisition involved.
Hope this explains 😊
Shut up Leandros
Nice try Leandros.
Nah. Screw Leandros
The drawing of the guard in the bottom right at 2:07 had me tears in my eyes. He definitely heard there were no reinforcements 😂
This video is so cool, I laugh many times.
Sidonius quote, Nemeroth turning into Prince and so on. Especially thank you for cute Lieutenant Mira's model
Beautiful video, great drawings, strategic value absolute indeed
Thank you very much! I appreciate you watching!
The Ultramarines. One of the best, if not THE best space marine chapters ever...
🤣🤣 I gotta do some more space marine chapter videos
I hate how there are DOZENS ultra marine successor chapters but for someone reason we only EVER see the boys in blue...
2:03 Now I could be wrong but I remember somewhere that those Guardsmen had just finished fighting another ork waagh and where suppose to resupply before being redirected.
So these boys and gals held out while understrenght from the moment they entered the system.
If I remember correctly, the events of Space Marine happen at a very specific point in time that Cato Sicarius (the current 2nd Ultramarines cpatain) was either at a hearing/trial or on another crusade (I can't remember off the top of my head), which actually allows Titus to be the stand-in captain of the Ultramarines 2nd company, allowing the game and its sequel to be canon :)
Edit: so I may be dumb, but it’s also possible that Titus was captain straight up before Cato
That drogan joke at 1:00 made me subscribe lol
Huge dubs, glad you liked it. Thanks a lot!
Same 😂
no joke I subscribed as soon as I heard it, came to say so and saw this comment
I know nothing about Warhammer lore and you just totally pulled me into learning more with this video, really excited for this game to come out, thank you for the video and love the drawings.
By the emperor, im not even done watching and I love this video Duk!
Awesome dude! Glad you like it
6:06, bro chill 😂.
Spoilers for space marine 2
Leandros is the chaplain you see throughout the story missions hawk Tuah
Couldn’t believe it, smh
Forge World Graia in the Segmentum Tempestus, not to be confused with Forge World _Graia_ in the Segmentum _Tempestus._ Being fair though Space Marine came out before AdMech had any models that weren't the IG Regimental Enginseer so thats why you don't see legions of Skitarii defending the world or the Graian Crown turning the Ork fleet into scrap metal... wait its already scrap metal... what do you figuratively turn Ork stuff into?
Bro cant get enough of that sky diving high.
%1000 as nerdy as I expected this to be and I’m here for it
Dude, the writing in this video is so insanely good. Loved every minute of it. Actually makes me want to play the first game now.
I want you to be my history teacher, lol.
Love your content, jokes, and video style
Thank you!
"Weapon that can track psyhic signature of alien species" and he shows Tau. Only necrons have less warp connection than tau
I feel that shows how potent the weapon is. Iirc it’s confirmed to work on tau, so it’s a pretty powerful weapon considering its warp based system. Thanks for watching!
I can’t wait because I’m playing warhammer 40k space marines 1 and warhammer 40k boltguns dlc awesome 10/10.
I instantly liked when I saw the intro, I really like your art style.
Thanks for the recap I haven't played space marine 1 in over a decade
U know, despite this lore being in ‘contention’ it’s still really cool, and it’s real in my opinion
Ya I agree. I think GW did a lot of stuff to make it fit the lore better than initially thought, so it seems they want it to be actual canon.
Thanks for watching!
SPICE MARIIIINEE!!!
Crimson Fists?
YOU GOT NEW FRIENDS NOW SPACE MARINE?!
I aint so easy to kill he he he he he he
Really cool looking back before the game was out at your take. I'm more than okay if his feats rival that of Sicarius given it's now canon he was captain of the 2nd *before* him- I'd actually like Titus' character to develop to the point where he's a serious contender for Calgar's position and they could do a cool subplot where perhaps he has to choose between pursuing that and the path of a Librarian (because let's be honest GW needs the flexibility with their writing to be able to keep him canon and fit him in 'nicely' with the blue bois)
I'd really like to see him in books and full on stories after he's been set up well enough, espetially if they write it so that the games cover his biggest events and the lore fills in the gaps and other major-but-not-quite-as-huge events.
Thank you!
“Shut the fuck up Leandros, FOR THE EMPEROR!!”
"Something something, CRACK IS WACK"
Bro the picture of Titus at 12:22 SENT me 😂
Named Ultramarines just built different bro lol
For real. Named Ultramarines in the video games are some of the strongest beings in the galaxy
This is the best game lore video I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
amazing video sir!
Thank you! Love your stuff!
I hope we see more xenos or maybe even demons in this game,or chaos space marines that’d be so fun
I am expecting we see space marine to fight since they got a working multiple player
This is a mild spoiler but if you don’t mind:
There will definitely be thousand sons based on the trailer so they’ll be fun to fight I imagine
Your drawing of Leandros in this video kills me LOL i love it so much
Leandros holding the codex as they jump out of the Thunderhawk is so good lol
Good catch! Kraks videos are full of this stuff.
Real G's remember Cpt Ardius of the 3rd company Ultramarines in Firewarrior.
His sacrifice shall not be forgotten
I actually read the novelization for it and thought it was actually pretty good. Managed to make a Tau character into a badass by the end.
I love the absolute destruction being laid down on Leandros
great video! As a tip, I recommend briefly explaining terms and references to the warhammer lore, such as warp, chaos, etc. as new people are not going to know what they are referencing. I'm a big fan of the total war games so I mostly knew all the references but I know a lot of people do not have any prior context to the world
Gonna have to replay the 1st one before the 2nd drops.
Loved the way u phrased da tuffest orc climbing up that cliff face only to fall again 😂😂
I wasn’t aware there was other content following Titus and I’m glad I was right that he joined the death watch
Im a big 40k nerd and how I always rationale the videogames is that the broad strokes are true.
In Space Marine the Ultramarines 2nd Company, who were temporarily under the command of Titus instead of Sicarius for some reason, assisted in the Grimskull war.
In Boltgun a member of the Ultramarines did better against Daemons than expected
In Blood and Teef an Ork managed to kill more White Scars than would be expected for a Boy
Recently finished a hard difficulty playthrough of the 1st campaign in prep of the release of 2nd game
I would like to see a boltgun recap but it can be summed up in this popular sentence: "BREAKING NEWS: LOCAL MAN LITERALLY TOO ANGRY TO DIE"
Great video!
Thanks!
Finished the game for the first time last evening and steam says I'm in the 6% of players who finished it on hard. Amazing game I'm so happy
Titus gonna end up a grey knight.
4:15 bro roasted my boy Drogan
