If you have never played a Warhammer 40k game before this... if you love RTS games, there are some more games that I loved. The Dawn of War series from like 20 years ago. Graphics are definitely dated, but still good and the story was really good.
To be fair, they said new enemy "type" as in a unit of tyranids and chaos marine, not a new "faction". That would be a hell of an undertaking as it would require story/lore reasons. But I could be wrong.
I am ok with a full priced great complete game, actually kinda miss it, bought the game played it for couple days now, nothing but good feed back , I take my time so content is a non issue for me right now, over all we need more of this kind bold, polished and complete games.
New enemy _does not_ mean a new faction. Either Tyranids or Thousand Sons are getting a new enemy type added to their roster. That said Orcs or maybe a Chaos Warband would be a sweet addition later down the line.
It's definitely a lot of fun. It will be like helldivers a blast for 2 months and get repetitive. Once the next expansion or story missions come out play again for another week and drop it.
I've been on the fence with this game, and given it only has 6 co-op operations, I think I'm gonna wait until they release the horde mode, and hopefully there will be more operations too. I appreciate the review.
If you want a 40k horde hack n slash that really encapsulates the 40k vibe... Darktide... the game has its faults, but the combat loop and visuals are phenomenal. You have miles more agency over the combat than you do in SM2
It will definitely be worth buying when they finally fix the servers. Gameplay is amazing, but right now it’s a toss up of if you’ll even get to play or just get stuck in a load screen trying to start a mission. I have 16 hours into the game already, yet I’ve only done the stories tutorial, and 9 operations………..
The game seems lack of content . It will die before devs put something which actually create some raplayability . I would love to buy it but I will not. Another thing is why thousand sons are so 💩? They are also space marines they should be a challenge and I see hordes of them murdered with ease. Why they shit on the lore .
For anyone who doesn’t know anything about warhammer lore but is starting to get into it because of this game, the imperium isn’t necessarily the “good guys” it’s more like siding with the nazis because you get invaded by the xenomorphs from alien…
1st point of the bad part is the sole reason I'm not buying this game, as someone who played (still play from time to time) darktide, space marine 2 feels like the same game but as a space marine, and there's two things I like a lot in darktide besides the gameplay: the music and the randomness from the different character personalities, now I don't know how good the music for space marine 2 is or if the dialog is anything besides DIE HERETIC but so for I know nothing about it, IMO it's not worth the price and will happily wait for a sale or for it to drop on game pass
Just hold until it is heavily discounted. You'll thank me for it. Or look at a bunch of gameplay footage and reviews before you buy. The 'Very Positive' on Steam = 'Very Misleading' and does not reflect the state of the game, just the length of the hype-train. You'll see a majority (even the people who recommend the game) say it is VERY short and somewhat repetitive. The people who don't recommend go further: to them it is boring and the gameplay/core-combat loop is 'average' at best.
Yeah I agree w p much all of it. Once they go back and optimized some things, matchmaking, armory data pickups/leveling, I think this can go far. Also yeah, horde not being baseline in a game About overcoming hordes seems like a miss
My only "buyers beware" for this is currently a lot of console players are having network issues when trying to play with friends, constant "joining server" infinite loads or getting kicked at mission end with no rewards. All stuff I am sure will get worked out but can be frustrating since the main buying point is being a fun game with friends
New enemies coming are single enemy unit types, not races... If you want Orks, pick up Space marine 1 and have fun with a better story, better characters, and honestly, more satisfying combat
I'm a solo player and the biggest reasons I probably won't play this game is because it's geared toward co-op play and it costs $59.95. With the limited content that Fallout mentions, it wouldn't be worth it for me.

You need to put a little time in and unlock the cool weapons - the smg on sniper, the meltas, etc, but man it fights destiny pvp for how enjoyable it is once you do.
If you have never played a Warhammer 40k game before this... if you love RTS games, there are some more games that I loved. The Dawn of War series from like 20 years ago. Graphics are definitely dated, but still good and the story was really good.
“Imperium of Man, good” according to Games Workshop that’s definitely not true.
Imagine the worst thing about a game being that it is so good, we just NEED MORE!!!
To be fair, they said new enemy "type" as in a unit of tyranids and chaos marine, not a new "faction". That would be a hell of an undertaking as it would require story/lore reasons. But I could be wrong.
Not even a minute into the video and he called the imperium the good guys lmao
I am ok with a full priced great complete game, actually kinda miss it, bought the game played it for couple days now, nothing but good feed back , I take my time so content is a non issue for me right now, over all we need more of this kind bold, polished and complete games.
New enemy _does not_ mean a new faction. Either Tyranids or Thousand Sons are getting a new enemy type added to their roster.
That said Orcs or maybe a Chaos Warband would be a sweet addition later down the line.
Well I mean we already found a tomb world and made quite a bit of noise on it.
Just finished the campaign and I loved it, after yrs of same destiny drivel this was a great experience, can't wait for horde mode
As a warhammer fan this game tickled my pickle in so many ways
It's definitely a lot of fun. It will be like helldivers a blast for 2 months and get repetitive. Once the next expansion or story missions come out play again for another week and drop it.
I've been on the fence with this game, and given it only has 6 co-op operations, I think I'm gonna wait until they release the horde mode, and hopefully there will be more operations too. I appreciate the review.
If you want a 40k horde hack n slash that really encapsulates the 40k vibe... Darktide... the game has its faults, but the combat loop and visuals are phenomenal. You have miles more agency over the combat than you do in SM2
grew up on gears of war and this game has been really fun so far
YES!! I can’t believe there are critics of this game.
It will definitely be worth buying when they finally fix the servers. Gameplay is amazing, but right now it’s a toss up of if you’ll even get to play or just get stuck in a load screen trying to start a mission.
I have 16 hours into the game already, yet I’ve only done the stories tutorial, and 9 operations………..
just so you know the devs said they won't be adding new factions when they say new enemy it's a unit from the two existing factions in the game
it’s pretty dope……ass kicking marines, big guns, rivers of aliens, what more could you want in life?
Horde Mode is coming in spring so that’s not too far away.
Absolutely yes worth buying
Bwahahaa shout out to the Warframe slip of the tongue about a minute and a half in xD I did it constantly talking to my wife about this game....
"imperium of man = good (no heresy allowed)" 👀👀
You should definitely try dawn of war, probably the best RTS game in existence
Of course it is I knew nothing about it a month ago now it's easily one of the best games this year.
Yes!!!! BECAUSE EMPEROR TOLD ME AND HE SAID I HAVE TO HAUNT DOWN THE XENOS AND HERETICS
“Knee deep in dudes” is crazy hahaha
1st point of the bad part is the sole reason I'm not buying this game, as someone who played (still play from time to time) darktide, space marine 2 feels like the same game but as a space marine, and there's two things I like a lot in darktide besides the gameplay: the music and the randomness from the different character personalities, now I don't know how good the music for space marine 2 is or if the dialog is anything besides DIE HERETIC but so for I know nothing about it, IMO it's not worth the price and will happily wait for a sale or for it to drop on game pass
I was gonna buy it but it’s 110 dollars for the base version 💀
Yes, yes it is
Yes. What are you waiting for!!!?
Easily in my top 5 goty contenders and the best third person shooter in a while IMO
New enemies coming are single enemy unit types, not races... If you want Orks, pick up Space marine 1 and have fun with a better story, better characters, and honestly, more satisfying combat
glad I watched this before buying
60 bucks for a 6-hour campaign and six missions for endgame? I almost bought this. Thx for the heads-up.
Gears without objects, wall cover or gore, weapon pickups!!!!! slowed down! Like no maps … lmao 😅wow gaming is dead
"Imperium of Man = Good Guys-"
I'm gonna have to stop you right there.
This man right here, Commisar.
I'm a solo player and the biggest reasons I probably won't play this game is because it's geared toward co-op play and it costs $59.95. With the limited content that Fallout mentions, it wouldn't be worth it for me.
I play and enjoy it. I really dont care if others do or not.
When they add new classes Im hoping for Librarian/Chaplain and maybe Apothecary
