To fix the scaling of the original BMW menu - go to settings and there should be a menu where you type in 1314 and select 8". Loads of videos of this floating around.

I have the same module as you (with DVD) in my car. I have installed a new screen as you have done, but I can't get the radio back in place. How did you get enough space for the cables in the back?
Are there any dip switches on the unit? Usually they're used to configure the original iDrive to your new screen.
How did you get your I drive controls working? I have nothing/no where to plug mine in and no harness to allow it to work

I just finished installing this, the only issue I have is every time I start the car I have to connect to the car in my iPhone Bluetooth settings, also there is no E90 car select in the car settings only E60 CCC small, so my selection wheel doesn’t work is there a way you got that working?

I'm looking to do this install on my e90 328i in the future, but I do have a quick question. When I bought the car, the radio wasn't working and I took everything apart to see what the problem was and my personal diagnostic was that it overheated, because the radio proportion didn't have the little fan in the back. Would that be a reason that my iDrive screen isn't working? I would like to fix that before I spend the $ on a setup like this. Let me know, thanks!
Edit: Would I be able to fix the problem if I bought a new radio, but this time the fan isn't missing? Lmao
To fix your i-drive’s aspect ratio issue, just go into the android’s main setting. And change the aspect ratio, it should then revert back to it’s normal size fitting into what it was previously

You have to change the resolution so the old screen gets displayed normally in the settings

Hey quick question. Do you know if you can still reset warnings and codes? Because on an I drive car, you usually reset them through the i-drive unit.
Yes you can go back to the regular ccc I drive system and use any of those controls

This is how to stop your Android screen from switching back to iDrive when you press the M button:
1. Settings > Factory
2. Password = 1314
3. Vehicle > MODE Key Selection (scroll down) > Disable
4. Done

For the CCC UNIT, Do you need to route the AUX cord to center console or just moving the fiber optic cable would do? Because from SLOWSPEED’s installation, he didn’t connect the aux cord to the center console and audio works for CarPlay. So I’m just curious if aux if absolutely necessary

@@mangekyosharingan3020 Hi, just installed my new unit a few days ago. Yes, you have to route the AUX cord to the center console along with moving over the fiber optic wire to the new harness. You must do both to achieve sound. Hope this helps

I have been having trouble with my ccc unit in my 2006 330i and i wonder if i do this swap with the same ccc unit will work , because my screen is no working rn and i wonder why it happens , if i need to replace the ccc unit in order to get this apple car play

Cropped sceen: wrong setting in screen settings (menu via code 1314)
M button: you can change the m button config with tools like KSW tools, this should solve it.
I set up everything correctly but there’s no sound I’m wondering why does anybody know
Only thing is some models have the pro nav so it's a tight squeeze with the 5th speaker behind the headunit
And the GPS won't fit so u have to disconnect

Does this by pass the original CCC? For example, my existing CCC may not be working, so would this allow me to use the idrive system with the CCC bugging out?
Probably not if your existing ccc is not working
This XTRONS unit is just a display with a lot of fancy options; all audio is produced by the CCC. If your navigation or CD player is not working, the XTRONS unit will still probably work, but if you’re not getting audio, the XTRON unit will only give you pretty pictures.
You need the ksw unit with ksw toolkit app. You can disable unit hijacking the M button. Since you disable it then it works just like it did with just iDrive screen

Hey so I just finished this job and now no air will come out of any of my front vents, but the back ones blow louder then usual, what did i mess up?
Double check to Make sure you have both plugs Connected to the AC controls

Anyone have sound issue? I recheck my wires over and over. Radio work but as soon as I try to play music from my phone. Sound only comes out the driver speaker.
Check the pins of audio connector android to original ccc. Pins might be in different locations due to different regions, lhd/rhd

I’ve successfully completed this install, and the only advice I can give about getting the CCC back in place is-keep trying. Keep repositioning the wiring until you get it to work. It’s going to be a very tight fit, but it can be done.
My idrive button does not work anymore. Do all of the functions work via toch screen is do I have te replace the button first?

No this only works for pre lci. You are lucky your car uses the CIC idrive system which has much better aftermarket solutions

How you got your parking sensors display at 11:48? I tried every settings in advanced settings in the unit but nothing works :(

Depends on the reason it’s not working probably
The screen will work for carplay but u will have no audio since audio goes through original ccc aux

You may have to go back in there and get some other wires connected. Had the same issue but fixed it asap, gotta connect a green and white wire or sum like that into the new wiring harness

Yeah replace the aux, that wire only goes to the rear ac controls and plugs in there so it’s pretty easy.

I’m confused on what your talking about I never use idrive to reset the oil change u can just use the instrument cluster , sensor the oil change reminder is almost pointless because realistically you should be changing it way more often than bmw recommend for these cars
