This is an installation overview of the Waterdrop G2 P600-W RO water filtration system.
If you're looking at the Waterdrop G2, the G2 P600-W is the same model base with a slightly higher flow rate. I highly recommend the faster flow rate if your budget allows.

If anyone is looking here for help, drilling the hole doesnt need to be difficult when using the right tool.
All you need is a hole saw with a pilot bit made for stone / concrete / granite.
The small pilot bit in the center is slightly longer and easily keeps the core bit from wandering as it enters the surface.
The bit used in this video could also get the job done, but you would first need to drill a hole thru a 2x4 or piece of plywood that you could clamp to the surface to guide and keep the bit from wandering until it has begun boring.

Enjoyed watching this since I'm close to installing one. It looks like the hole drilled could have been a lot smaller, like 1/2" maybe, did the instructions guide what size you drilled into the counter? We have a granite countertop as well so I'm watching a bunch of these videos. 👍🏽
Yes, you can certainly go smaller for this installation. 1/2" might be too tight, but I don't recall the instruction manual saying anything about a recommended drill diameter. If you haven't already, I'd suggest you get the Waterdrop first and then measure. Should've done that in the first place SMH, haha.
I agree smaller hole. Only reason for larger hole is preassemble, feed all in from top. Then slide split washer on underneath... Great vid, bit scary at times 😲😉
You need a center drill for that drill bit, then it much easier to hold centered
Thanks for the review and instructions. The pass-through metal bolt for the faucet doesn't look that big. You could have gotten away with a half-inch hole instead of the suggested 1.375.

I'm thinking of installing this system. We currently use those Brita filtered pitchers. How do you like this system overall? How is the taste of water? Is there anything you dislike about it?
So far no issues with my system! The water still tastes the same as it did on the first day. I know my espresso machine is loving the limescale free water as well!
Many hole saws come with a place to put a drill bit in the center of the hole saw to use as a guide for the hole saw, this manes for a much cleaner hole, just saying. I enjoy your videos.
Thanks for the comment! Yes the hole saw I bought did have a drill bit in the center, but that kept slipping... Should of took the time to do a pilot hole.
What is the water output flow like? Could you make a video showing how long it takes to fill a measuring cup? That would be super helpful for me.

why was it warm? was that just after the 30min rinsing or is it warm still?
Did you have to make the hole that big? Looked like the diameter of the faucet was only half inch. I have this system new in box and the hole is making me nervous. Dont think you needed to do 1 3/8. Anyways thanks doesn’t look that intimidating now that i saw your video. Baby is cute. I have two that age dont want them to grow up they like cartoon characters :)

it's amazing how you just plug the tubes without any fixation into the unit (?) and no water is escaping while using it...? I have a phobia that something would start leaking eventually with so many connections (I'm linvin in a several storage apt.) -_-'
Hi, thanks for the video. Did you see a huge water and electric bill increase after using this filtration machine for a month?
Great question... I've been wondering that myself. I haven't noticed any huge spike in water or electricity usage, but I want to someday get a more definite answer to this. The water bill is actually not that bad, and drinking water is only a small percentage of the total water usage, so I'm not worried about that. Waterdrop also advertises that it's a 2:1 drain ratio (2 glasses of clean water, 1 glass down the drain), so you can calculate it that way as well. Measuring electricity usage is a bit tougher, and I would have to get an energy meter to really see how much power it's using. Until I get one, I'm thinking of conserving energy by hooking up a smart plug so I can automatically turn it off when everyone's sleeping. That being said, I don't think you'll see a huge increase in your utilities just because of this machine. Seems pretty efficient.
How is it working one year later? How often do you need to change the filters? Any issues getting filters?
It's working great. I haven't had any issues and haven't had to change the filters yet. We use it daily, so we should be due for a change, but I'm relying on the filter change indicator, and that hasn't prompted me to do so.

Your said the water comes out warm? Is that just because it was done with the initial cleaning cycle or is it always slightly warm?
Yes, I think that was just the initial cycle. The water that comes out now is the same temperature as the tap.
Any reason you didn't just use the hole from your air gap and use a high loop instead? Looking to install this but don't want to drill a hole.
No real reason other than it sounded like a good excuse to drill a hole into my countertop (I've always wanted to know how hard it was... learned the hard way🤣)! I'm not 100% sure on the actual procedure, but using a high loop seems like a good alternative. Let me know if it worked! Good luck :)
For those who don't want to drill a hole in their countertop, there are also faucets with integrated water filter faucets (2 in 1) . My question is, if you move and want to take the system with you. How do you "clog" (for lack of a better term) the draining hole?

How frequently are you changing out the filters? And about how much do the replacements cost?
Haven't had to change out the filters yet (6 months of operation). I'm keeping an eye out on the filter indicator, but so far no issue.
Most ROs are once a year. I just installed my g2. Looks like around $75
Does the unit make a lot of noise when using the tap?
I wouldn't say it makes excessive noise, but it's definitely not silent. It's only audible when you turn the tap, and since it lives underneath the sink (the sound is attenuated quite a bit), it doesn't bother me.
I just got this and love it. Would you know how to turn off the automatic shut off to this system?
Awesome! I've tried looking up the automatic shut off, but can't seem to find it... Could you please elaborate? Mine is on 24/7, and water flows whenever I turn the faucet on.
This unit does not have a reserve tank and is on demand filtered water.
Aside from this an ASO(automatic shutoff valve) is just that ... Automatic .

Dude, you ruined your counter top, definitely used the wrong drill bit. They make special diamond bits for granite with a center bit to avoid scratching the surface like you did. Holy crap. Granite is not cheap
