Very nice presentation, Seth! I've had several RO installations. One thing I like to do is to have the RO faucet closer to the right edge of the sink so that if you rotate the faucet all the way to the right, it is still just inside the sink, but you can fill a large pot by resting the pot on the countertop, sticking a little bit over the sink. Then you can fill the pot without having to hold the pot at the same time. The center of gravity of the pot is still on the countertop. My RO faucet's center is about 4 inches from the right edge of the sink. Cheers.

That is a good idea! I guess I will just have to keep the sink clean for filling pots with water.

Your video was helpful to me . I installed mine a couple of days ago .
I received a different fixture for the water inlet adapter though . The one I have does not have the inlet tube locking piece . It is just a standard barb type fitting with a nut . I thought I was missing the locking collar, so I sent a message to the company via Amazon and they called me the next day and told me that they had customers who experienced troubles with the original style inlet adapter ( such as you have ) and they now only use the new type ( such as I have ) . However, I had already fitted the tube to the barb, before they called .
One reason that caused me to be certain that I had an improper piece is that I found it impossible to fit the inlet tube over the barb . The hole was barely large enough to get started, but the tube was too rigid to get it to move further up the barb . I resolved that issue by boiling some water and putting the tube into it for about 45 seconds . Once I did that, the tube fit on the barb nicely .
You may wish to inquire to the company about getting the new adapter . Apparently the water hammer shock that is experienced in the tubing, when the unit turns off, may cause the tube to be ejected ...
BTW - What TDS reading are you getting for your tap water before and after filtering ?
My tap water is over 250 before and about 12 after .

Its amazing the cotter pin clamp to secure the water line connections where chosen over a compression fitting? I only suspect that in time they will loosen the connection fail. A bit cheesy on the engineering side for such a complex 5 stage water device? Just my 2 cents...

  • @landscapevision6553

Not a installation question however Is the TDS meter actually measuring the water output at the faucet exit? Is there a sensor connected to the faucet device? The other Waterdrop model registers the TDS reading internally and appears to to read the TDS at the facet exit? Would be nice to do a TDS meter test at the faucet exit to confirmed the output reading? That way the proof is in the putting. Thanks

The installation process for the Waterdrop D6 reverse osmosis water filter:
    1. **Preparation:**
    - Unpacking the Waterdrop D6 reverse osmosis water filter kit involves carefully removing all components from the packaging and laying them out in an organized manner.
    - The instruction manual should be consulted to ensure that all necessary components are present and accounted for.
    2. **Shut Off Water Supply:**
    - Locating the water supply valve under the sink is typically the first step. This valve should be turned off to prevent water flow during installation and to avoid any potential leaks or accidents.
    - Any existing leaks or water around the installation area should be addressed and cleaned up to provide a dry and safe working environment.
    3. **Purge Pressure from the Line:**
    - Purging pressure from the water line involves turning on the faucet and letting it run until the water stops flowing completely. This step ensures that there is no residual pressure in the line, which could cause issues during installation.
    4. **Attach Adapter:**
    - The provided adapter is used to connect the water supply line to the reverse osmosis filter unit. This adapter ensures a secure and leak-free connection between the existing water line and the filter unit.
    - Proper alignment and connection of the adapter are crucial, and it should be tightened securely using appropriate tools if necessary to prevent any leaks or looseness.
    5. **Install Faucet:**
    - Drilling a hole of the required size in the sink for faucet installation is a precise task. Care should be taken to choose a suitable location for the faucet that provides easy access and functionality.
    - The mounting washer with a hole is placed onto the sink surface, and the power cord of the faucet is fed through it before securing it with the appropriate nut. This ensures a tight fit and prevents leaks around the faucet base.
    6. **Connect Tubing:**
    - Using the provided tubing to connect the water outlet of the reverse osmosis filter to the faucet inlet is straightforward but requires careful attention to ensure proper insertion and connection.
    - Blue clips are used to secure the tubing in place and prevent it from coming loose during operation. These clips help maintain the integrity of the connections and prevent leaks.
    7. **Install Drain Saddle:**
    - Drilling a quarter-inch hole in the sink's drain line and attaching the drain saddle is a critical step in ensuring proper drainage and disposal of wastewater from the filter unit.
    - The red tubing is inserted into the drain saddle according to the manufacturer's recommendations, ensuring a secure fit to prevent leaks or dislodgement.
    8. **Prepare Filter Unit:**
    - Removing the rubber tabs from the drain outlet and inlet ports on the reverse osmosis filter unit is necessary to facilitate proper tubing connection.
    - Pressing the tubing firmly into the ports until they reach the recommended insertion depth ensures a secure and leak-free connection. The use of blue tabs further reinforces the connections and prevents accidental disconnection.
    9. **Complete Installation:**
    - Double-checking all connections and fittings for security and leaks is essential before proceeding. Any loose or improperly connected components should be addressed promptly to avoid issues later on.
    - Turning on the water supply and allowing the system to flush for the recommended duration ensures that any impurities or debris are flushed out of the system, ensuring optimal performance and water quality.
    - Testing the system by filling a container with water from the newly installed faucet verifies that everything is working correctly and that there are no leaks or malfunctions.
    10. **Final Checks and Adjustments:**
    - Verifying the proper functioning of features such as filter life indicators and faucet swivel ensures that the system is operating as intended.
    - Making any final adjustments or modifications based on specific needs or preferences ensures optimal performance and user satisfaction.
    11. **Completion:**
    - Once all steps have been completed successfully, the installation process is considered complete.
    - Cleaning up any mess or debris from the installation area and disposing of packaging materials properly ensures a clean and tidy workspace.
    - Enjoying clean, filtered water from the newly installed Waterdrop D6 reverse osmosis water filter is the final reward for a job well done.

Water drop claims 600 gpd. How can this be when the highest membrane rate available is only 150? And with a waste water ratio of 1.5:1, the membrane will foul in no time, depending on how hard your water is. 4:1 is crazy but correct and will lengthen the life of the membrane.
