- This is a short video on weapon crafting. Upon review of what actually is going on with weapon crafting, it's not too complicated, but the process of crafting is a bit more laborious than first anticipated. At least it gives you something to do.

Make sure you have the perfect roll for striga when you go to craft the catalyst for it. Any changes to your roll require three more alloy if you want to change a trait/barrell/mag
Nah it doesn't. You just need to keep the Caty on the weapon (it removes it in the reshape screen and you need to add it back)

@@Tocsj I literally reshaped mine to give it Accurized Rounds after I tested the catalyst and found that alloy mag is quite useless with the catalyst. At first it did ask for 3 balls but then I put the catalyst back on it (again trying to reshape it takes the catalyst off it for some reason) and it let me proceed without costing me the 3 balls

Most, if not all, world drops need to go into the craftable loot pool. I have no idea why they decided to put weapons that come from specific sources that you can just go farm if you want those weapons as the pool to unveil crafting with.
Thanks datto for the guides you've been posting out lately! It really helps me out a lot as to what to do in the game. So far weapon crafting to me feels really great and I'm having a blast so far on Witch Queen.
Kinda hard to get patterns when the gun itself never drops
I can't progress the Report quest line because the weapons still have not dropped for me.

if you're referring to come to pass and tarnation, seems like they may be exclusive to wellspring based on the triumph, each weapon drops on a specific day though and you can see which one is dropping that day if you hover over the icon for wellspring. Though still can't account for me not getting any tarnations that had deepsight on them the other day when it was the weapon...
@@madsky421 the drop rates are insanely low. I have spent 16 hours total in wellspring master and only gotten 4 red frame drops.
@@Enkletonian Yeah, I was simply saying in general bc at least at first I didn't realize they were tied to wellspring at all and simply thought they dropped like all other throne world weapons bc I was so focused on just playing that I didn't notice the triumph that said they were wellspring weapons
I do wish the neutral element had a more passive way to obtain, but the other mats make sense the way they are.
From what I understand it's definitely not supposed to replace random loot.
You're still better off hoping to get a good roll.
But if you never get what you want this will help, and more importantly this is the way to create "the best weapons".
Seems more like an end game thing than I thought. Which I think is probably a good thing.
It's good in a sense that you will certainly and eventually get the exact gun you want. With the RNG you might get what you want 1st try, or you will never get it at all.
Yeah, bungie said that it's not going to be a replacement and that if you want a more specific God roll, then rng will be the route to go
I think crafting is also meant for those few weapons that are really special to you. Hence making the perfect version of it with your dream perks, the weapon having mementos and showing the date that you crafted them. Whereas random other weapons you can just use a random roll
I definitely think weapon crafting for all weapons makes the grind so much more purposeful. Imagine if you could get an adept Palindrome and, rather than spending ten hours farming more strikes, you spend that time using it.

still on the fence about weapon crafting. will probably be better when there's more weapons and also maybe a screen where i can see all the crafting items i have
These things usually take them a few seasons to iron out and perfect, for better or worse. Look at Armor 2.0 or transmog

Yeah feels like the pool of craftable weapons is pretty small right now. Would love to see them add craftable raid weapons
A small pool at the start is better so there isn't a ridiculous grind, especially for raid.
Rockets are DPS meta rn and both new rocket launchers are really good.
Enhanced field prep + enhanced lasting impression for void, enhanced impulse/auto loading and enhanced lasting impression/explosive light

so FYI, Enhanced Fieldprep on RLs gives two extra shots
the Throne World rocketlauncher can thus reach 10 total reserves with a chest mod, and has Lasting Impression in the other slot
Enhanced lasting impression at level 16 for new void rocket launcher. Does more damage
Can likely reach 11 with two chest mods as standard field prep with two chest mods lets you reach 10 already, was able to do this with a Shining Sphere before witch queen.

I love how they left hand canons out from crafting
Once you unlock a pattern, craft the base version of the weapon and take it into Last Wish, 2nd encounter and farm it's level up. Do not reshape it until you have your ideal setup on it.
For getting patterns, equip all your red guns and go do strikes or something you can just run through fast for a completion, even double farm for Alloy at the same time with the weekly story missions, just remember to swap to your weapons at the end. This week takes about 20 minutes per run and has a good final encounter to swap your weapons for.
So far these two tips are the best I can offer. Sort of sad that weapon crafting is so resource limited, like we really can't craft an entire loadout yet, purely because of the cap on ascendant alloy.
I just wish there was an easier way to get neutral element, why lock that to the rng drop of a deepsight resonance weapon

Tip for quick extracting: if you are decent at PvP you can get a weapon done in one game. This week is momentum control so racking up alot of kills is very easy
i discovered a damage testing area in the Enclave crafting room.
Head around the Relic and go down the stairs where you would usually begin the Parasite exotic quest. Pretty good if you want to see if your crafted weapon will cut it in PvE or PvP.
There's circle plates floating that will show normal damage, crit damage, or ranged damage.

If you hover over perks you can see the amount of mats you have for that perk pool on deep sight weapons.
great guide as always, but it would have been nice to see some information about how much attunement various activity completions give to equipped resonant weapons. for isntance, wellspring gives exactly 42% attunement progress, whereas a heroic public event gives around 20%. i imagine knowing the most efficient way to attune weapons will be key since the cost of high level shaping is so high.
Yeah, I would like to know what activities are best for farming weapon/resonance XP. It is quite boring and slow to farm Shuro
I imagine Shuro Chi, start of GoA, Thrallway, and the new scorn spawn in Miasma are technically the fastest and most efficient way to attune to a weapon. Naturally other activities will give better loot and potentials for more resonant weapons, but for speedrunning an attunement I can't imagine any activity outpacing standard hoard farms.

2:03.. I hate this with a passion. So much unnecessary grinding just to get a blueprint. It's like trying to acquire a catalyst and then you gotta unlock it, which is annoying enough.
I hope they change this in the future.

5:37 apparently if you want to reshape Osteo Striga with the catalyst applied requires you do add the catalyst again with all the costs attached to it. Better decide on what you want and then apply the catalyst
That’s about what I expected. Though I wasn’t looking into the news as much as I was in D1, so there’s that.
Just a heads up; if you go to DIM and hover over a trait on any weapon, it will show you how much of that resource you have.

The system is pretty good, I was just dissapointed by the lack of weapons. I don't see why we can't craft something like the new Veist sidearm. They are world drops but they could have made them require something like 10 extractions to make it take longer to get them available for crafting.
portably why the number is so low is more of test the waters first see how folks like it or dislike it and then add some more on as time goes for more weapons to craft

Question. If I have maxed a gun out and decide to craft another if the same gun. Will it keeps its level. Example: I have a level 8 ragnhild-d and decide to craft another. Will the new one come out as a level 8 or level 0?
Not surprised by the grind. This is, after all, the same game that thought we wanted an absurd grind for transmog.
I don’t know I feel like it might be easier to get most weapon through random drops than to craft them. The materials needed seem very hard to get, and it just doesn’t seem worth the time
It's not bad actually. If you only craft with standard perks (thus equivalent to the random drops) it's not that burdensome at all and then you're still leveling up the gun and can add enhanced perks later if you want. I think it's a great system. Don't like the cost? Ignore the enhanced perks and make your preferred "random drop" pretty easily. Have some resources to spare? Drop an enhanced perk and be happy.
It's supposed to be a more long term goal. Keep grinding normally and eventually you'll have the resources to craft a god roll
Datto, this isn't a walk through, I can see my weapon has Attunement progression. but when t says CLAIM, nothing happens. so I'm stuck. I'll have to find a link that explains it in greater detail.

So as far as I know, a weapon’s level is not shared among copies of the same weapon. So if you want to craft another copy of a weapon with a different roll, you have to level it AGAIN.
yh this is actually a bullshit idea, problem with this is if I want 3 unique rolls to complement the 3 chars I have (which is valid) I basically need 3 versions, all of which need to be at level 16 to obtain access to all perks and use 3x the resources to shape/reshape the weapon.
Also its probs gunna be more efficient in the long run to craft "new" versions of the same weapon than it is to constantly reshape it to adjust to playstyles. really pissed the levels at least are not stored account or weapon frame based
Is there any point in crafting a second, or even third version for an alt/s? Or just DIM it over when needed?
So is there any reason to level a gun past 20? Or is it just a progress tracker type thing?
Also screw the drops on Wellspring. Been doing it non-stop all day and got 1 RED BORDER in 28 runs.

Is Destiny 2 worth playing again if I have not played in 6 months - 1 year? Is the new Witch Queen something to buy to make it worth coming back to Destiny 2? I have the PS5 and Series X both, if The Witch Queen is worth buying, what console is better to buy it on as far as finding friends to play with for activities? I have not done raids in many yrs because I usually dont have friends to play with, but am wondering if Witch Queen is a game changer or is Destiny 2 basically the same ole same ole lol.. let me know. Pretty sad, I used an ascendant alloy because a pop-up on my screen harassed me to put an enhanced trait on my glaive. then I found out I need 3 to get osteo... gotta wait till reset to get my 3rd from rahool

That same quest also forced you to go get that alloy placed there just for this purpose. If they hadn't forced you to use one, they wouldn't have given you one for free.

It would be nice to know what weapon drops from which activity - Wellspring is fairly straightforward because it says these are the weapons that are available each day. (It only took 55 runs to get 2 Tarnations) But for the rest?
Can the swords that reference the entertainment sword from halo be emerged into one at the crafting table?
I have a question since you can't masterwork crafted weapons but you get enhanced traits what is the best option for god rolls Are the old school god roll drops with a masterwork better or worse than the best enhanced crafted god roll? I dont see much conversation about this or any video comparisons. Any thoughts? Or is the level 20 crafted weapon boost supposed to be our masterwork?
If you level up a weapon, and then craft another version of the same weapon, does that automatically have the same level? Basically, is the weapon level shared across the entire blueprint or just to that specific weapon?

you can also *technically* use the API in the Destiny companion app to look at it the same way, but for some reason, it says the cap for those legendary materials are 10,000 🤔
enhanced auto loading and enhanced lasting impression on the stasis rocket sounds incredible
Enhanced impulse is good too, reload speed much faster and makes the projectile speed much faster, therefore it's less likely to miss.
Stasis rocket also can use the font of might build
This is a whole new level of rng and grinding. Hardcore players are going to have some op guns and hopefully it doesn't break crucible.

It's kind of weird with ascendant alloys. Not only do they cost 400 sharts at rahool which is kind of a lot, but the weekly mission to get them also seems to be bugged. I did and LFG for a legend run of the mission where we got plat and over 100k points, but only 1 of 3 people got it which is kind of frustrating. The reward for alloys on the mission also doesn't say (rare) or (common), it just says that it's a reward
I still need to do one last quest on legendary to get the triumph... I got annoyed at the mission with the cabal under the pyramid because i died 13 times in a row. Did the rest on legendary though.
What if you masterwork a red border weapon at level 1? I did it's a
good roll but I can not progress with it now?

I wish the resonance and xp for a gun would level up with usage from my abilities too. Gonna develop and unhealthy habit of ignoring my abilities to progress the guns.
I have done 8 story missions, 1 on legend the rest on heroic. The drop rate is low. Also the wellspring seems to be bugged been farming it all day and have not received a single drop from it
