Very good review and a great overview of some of the aspects of the monitor. Thanks so much!
Thanks for watching!
Congrats on the monitor it looks brilliant, great video again. Keep it up!
Thank you!
I just got the pg349q so keen to use it
I'm playing on asus pg348q from 2016. Still works great and 100 hz works as well
Hello, i have noticed another big difference is that the curvature in PG349Q is much more aggressive (1900R) compared to PG348Q (3800R). I lean towards getting your monitor as i prefer less curve. Excellent review cheers!
Agreed that's why I'm keeping this one for so long over 6 years old my pg348q
I just bought this along with my new Origin PC, and it looks like I made the right choice!
I have had this monitor for 4 years and i keep wondering should i upgrade but realistically this monitor still bangs
Tommy Pearson It’s aged like fine wine.
@@tommypearson9260 hey buddy can you tell me if the image quality is good compared to 2020 monitors?
I just got this monitor for 400€ used . Can't wait for it to arrive !
Damn I can't seem to find them lower than £600
I recently got this monitor from my local pawn shop for $250 and I just ordered a Lenovo legion 5 with amd ryzen 7 5800h and rtx 3050ti graphics will these 2 products run well together
‘When I preview the stuff I’m putting on UA-cam in fullscreen mode it doesn’t fill the monitors 21:9 aspect ratio’.
Was that what you were trying to say?
The end screen annotations down work on 21:9 so for content creators that could be a deal breaker if they like to do that. Most videos aren’t 21:9 UA-cam also so you’ll get the black bars on the outside.
Anyone know of a quick way to change the display between HDMI and display port without going into the menu? Thanks.
Cheers, what is the weight without the stand? In the manual says 11.2kg (net) 15.5kg (gross) not sure what this means, with stant? No stand? In google i read only monitor 7.7Kg so bnig difference. The reason is im trying to buy a monitor stand for it... Thank you
Now that's a wide lad of a monitor.
It’s an amazing monitor! I’ll be switching back to a 16:9 though so I can to end screen attachments for my UA-cam videos
Hey thanksfor doing your review! im considering this monitor for the same purposes, have you calibrated and tested the color of the monitor? im considering buying this for my Razer Blade15 laptop.
I haven’t outside of doing my own color profile in the nvidia control panel.
can you do split-screen on this monitor?
how are the colour saturation on this monitor. i usually just play story based single player games and i need the colors to be good
It’s really good
hey you know the joystick on the back. i have a issue with it so when i try to use it in the monitor settings its kind off lose and the sensors dont follow what i do with the joystick
!
nvm
i followed instuctions that into the settings lol
I bought the monitor for $424 and I can't complain. I went from a 16:9 QHD that had 165 Hz and 100 Hz doesn't bother me at all.
can that red light be changed? i like to run different colors on my setup every week to keep the place lively. dont think ill be able to stand having that red light be constant
You can’t change the color just the brightness or turn it off
Why didnt you mention that ultrawides do nto work properly on iPads and MacBooks through USB C adapter? It flickers and turns off and on every few seconds or so.
At the time I didn’t know that since I don’t own a Mac. For Mac users though it’s more common knowledge that you need specific external monitors.
i can b uy this used for 400 eu. i think its a steal.. you will only find 34 inch at that price range with va nowadays.
I am building a desktop rn with an i9 9900k and a rtx 2070 ti i think i am going to buy the 120hz version of this and i wondered if that is a smart move? Thanks
Yea, just keep in mind certain games on ultra setting won’t touch that 120hz. You’d need a 2080ti for that
@@1UpNerdcore so with that in mind would you say getting a 144hz 165 hz monitor 1440p would be just a waste ???!!plz guide i was confused between a 27inch 1440p 165hz vs a 34inch 120hz 1440p..i was torn between a bigger screen vs more hz
@@sulphuricacid16 competitive game all the time (csgo, valorant, dll) pick 144hz/165hz 1440p. Casual game (story) and sometimes competitive pick 34" 100hz/120hz. Personally i will pick 34" because next gpu launch later this year
Please reply what is pirce of monitor
Asus seems to have a lot of QC issues with this model. Common problems include horrific back light bleeding and dead pixels. So I strongly suggest that anyone buying this monitor make absolutely certain that they can return it without issue.
Too bad really, I love pretty much everything about this monitor. But I won’t take a chance on something that costs this much.
I personally haven’t had any problem but I’ve also heard they will cover any of those problems for free. It’s a hassle to send you monitor out to get fixed it it’s an option.
Got mine for 230 yesterday pg 348q
Was that mouse the G903 with the mousepad charger??
It’s the 703 with the power play :) I’ve done reviews of both, I love them!
Does this monitor have a saturation and sharpness setting?
Sharpness yes, I can’t remember if it had saturation but I don’t think so. I sold it 4 months ago.
are most games compatible with that wide of a screen?
Yes
Uhh that looks sweet
Thank you! It’s an amazing monitor!
Hi, is this better than the pg349q?
No, that has 120hz panel vs the 100hz mine has and they added rgb lighting to the back rog logo
Would a single 1080ti be enough for this monitor ?
Yup! That’s what I had before my new ryzen build and it worked great!
Would you recommend this for casual and semi-hardcore FPS titles?
Absolutely, if you have the hardware to hit the 100fps this thing looks smooth. Competitive FPS like CES go might benefit more from a 240hz panel but the FOV on an ultra wide is also an advantage
What table is that on?
Autonomous standing desk
how does it compare to the lg ultragear850? i can get this one for 630 euro and the lg is 780 euro btw i use a gigabyte vision oc 10 rtx 3080
Are you talking about the 850-B or just the LG 34inch ultrawide?
@@1UpNerdcore yes the ultra gear
Both of those are ultra gear so which one?
I have this monitor. On 100hz it has scanlines
Alienware AW3418DW has the same issue.
And it really pissing me off..
In ~80hz scanlines disappear.
Did you contact asus? Is G sync turned on?
@@1UpNerdcore Its no use of contacting ASUS, because its limits of the technology. Overclocking side effect.
Gsync on. But when off, i see scanlines too.
Here more people who suffer from this: ua-cam.com/video/d9uiFYgzk34/v-deo.html
(Check the comments too)
That sucks man, I’ve never had that problem. I wonder if it’s just a bad panel?
@@1UpNerdcore I had this problem on many other Gsync monitors. So I dont know..
Had this panel for 4 years now. Had it overclocked the entire time. Never seen any scanlines. #ripyourpanel
On clearence sale rite now for 700 CDN yay or nay? I have a GTX1080 and i7 7700K at 5Ghz. Picure quality is most important to me. My old monitor was a TN 27" 165hz acer predator.
It might go down after all the monitors are revealed at CES so if you can wait to see I would. If after 1-2 weeks it’s still 700 then ya it’s a good deal since it is G sync at 100hz ultra wide.
what about this 2022 is this still your monitor?
I review monitors so I don’t use one for long
I bought mine for a $1000 when it first came out i was considering a newer one but seriously it's not a big deal
By the time this monitor is really outdated there will be some good range monitors to go with i'm four years deep i don't see a reason to change yet i am running a RTX 3090 with a Ryzen 3950x
Dang how’d you get your hands on a 3090?
@@1UpNerdcore I got lucky I guess I went to EVGA at 6am pacific time and got it in my cart but the payment got stuck so I gave up.
Went to sleep woke up EVGA confirmed email i got it almost fell off my chair lolooolollololol 💯
@@tommypearson9260 I've also got this monitor going 4 years deep and I'm waiting on my 3090 build with a 5950X. Was contemplating upgrading the monitor as well but came here to see if others thought it was worth it yet. You've helped :)
@@johndavos924 3 years later i am still on this monitor haha i am running two ultrawides now and not looking back using a 13900k+4090 this monitor will not give in 🤣🤣
How much desk real estate does that stand take up?
It takes up a good size. You’ll need at least a 48+ inch desk. Mines 54 and you can see how much it takes up but that’s for the whole monitor. For the stand along about 12-15 inches.
1 Up Nerdcore the depth of my desk isn’t the deepest, ordered an amazon basics stand for it, thanks!
New version available pg 349q with 120hz refresh rate
Amazing monitor
and $$$$$$$$ also
hey man, can you play league of legend on this monitor?
I don’t have the monitor anymore, I sold it back in February to get other monitors to test and review
I have a laptop with a gtx1050. Will this monitor be good at 1080p?
It’ll be okay. You won’t be taking full advantage of it. You might look into a 1080p ultrawide that’s cheaper
I found a used one of these for 500
I just bought the last one at bestbuy for $700
Nice, let me know what you think!
Sorry man, but 980 TI is not better than 1080 TI. A friend of mine that monitor with i7 4790K, 32GB ram, and evga gtx 1080 TI, and get over 100fps in many games. I hope you will figure the problem out. Cause 1080 TI is good enough to run that monitor with 100 fps. Unless its cyberpunk 2077 and many other HIGH detailed games.
i frickin broke my joystick thing =/
This monitor came out years ago...
Yup...
Got mine almost new for 500$
Nice!
Same just bought one on offer up for $500 like new with all accessories and box. Manufacturers date feb 18. Very nice colors 100 hz is pretty good gsync. Great size. I have a rtx 2080 super and i7 9700k so plays games pretty good
