One of the best reviews i've ever seen, great job.
most detailed and helpful review i seen of this monitor, will be getting it for sure ty
You did a great job on this video. I appreciate your going into detail, along with real world tearing. I ordered this yesterday.
+iVideo1011 awesome!
One of the best review of that monintor. Nice!
Finally someone illustrated in simple terms how variable fps works with a static refresh rate. Gj
Best review I have seen, keep up the great work!
Great profession review! I'm considering that monitor, and You really told everything! Great Work!
Got mine last year, Still the best monitor for gaming, Love it 😊
Can I reach 100Hz (OC) with a single GTX 1080 on Asus ROG PG348Q with ''very high'' or maximum details/resolution ?
For example, how many FPS can I reach playing with GTA V REDUX with high ''details'' ?
PS How much distant I have to stay from the monitor to watch it well?
Table depth? 80cm, it's enough? (considering its base obviously)
great video.. very detailed short and to the point... thank you
amazing review dude congrats!!totally gonna buy this monitor after few days......i cant wait dammit!! :D
By far the best review of this monitor on UA-cam.
What a great review.. Thanks a lot sir!
Thanks great review
Great review man!
+Fellipe Almada thanks!

great review i subbed
nice review, very in-depth.
thanks for those chrome extensions, very useful!
Thanks for this Review :)
Decent Review, Thank you
Great review!
I am viewing this Video on my own Asus 34 rog swift, lol By far the best Ultrawide monitor i have purchase. Highly recommended!
Omg I just got the monitor, and I so Happy.. And I want the picture you have, that is soooo coool.. where can I Get it ..?
i.redd.it/ajo8uyjgyn5x.png Found this one, can't seem to find one with the mask in blue/purple like his..
Great review. I'll probably get the PG279Q, this wouldn't fit my desk unfortunately, i'd have to change it all up and it's just the way i want right now. Besides this res would need more power and i think 1440p at 16:9 would be a fine balance for my GTX 1080 to play at max settings no AA and still manages to get between 100-165 fps. Oh and i loved that wallpaper where did he got it from?
Good job! Looks really nice! A minor thing... 100 Hz, not 100Htz. Cheers mate!
Awaiting my fifth (5!) PG348Q from Asus RMA.
All full of coilwhine, and a number of different gsync issue. Its a 60hz ultrawide that can be partly OC to 100hz.
I was also speechless.... because of the IPS glow and bleed.
I received this monitor two days ago and WOW! very impressive.

My desk is 65cm deep so you should be ok. It's probably a little too close for me, but it's not too bad.
I haven't found a game I can't play on very high/ultra yet.
200x80 (x80h) it's enough?
My desk is about 150cm wide x 65cm deep, you should be fine.
200x80 (x80h) it's enough?
Yeah, this monitor just dwarfed my 60 in desk mainly due to the stand. I might get one of em arms and you can turn off the logo light
yes - you can turn the logo light off
hi can you tell me how you have yours calibrate i just got mine today
Does this have any window management software like the Dell Display Manager for it's ultrawides?
I just got the monitor today and three things of note.
1. You mentioned the depth of the stand but people also need to be aware that the screen also sits really far forward. As in, it's not just those legs that will take up desk space. Even pushed right up against a wall, the screen is about 10 inches away from the wall. It might fit better in a corner but due to being ultra wide, probably not so much. A vesa mount would be much better but then you lose that gorgeous stand.
2. The backlight bleed is real. In each corner there is backlight bleed and its sue to the poor construction. If you run your finger over the edge of the screen the backlight bleed will disappear until your release your finger. It's like the panel isn't squashed together properly. In one corner, there's even a squeak if I gently push the screen.
3. In each corner there is quite a bit of IPS glow. Since the screen is so big, and due to point 1 you'll be sitting much more closely to it, the viewing angle on the corners will be much tighter than usual. The image is still clear. It's not like a TN panel but there is a distinct glow so the viewing angle of the screen isn't all it's meant to be.
It's a great monitor but for the price, I would have expected better quality. My previous LG 34 ultra wide had no backlight bleed, great picture from corner to corner and cost a mere £540. I'm not sure if it's just down to the curve. I'm sure I'll get used to it. At the moment I'm just happy with g-sync and 100hz
Hey how come there is no big deals about response time with console gaming but pc gaming it's all about response time. Both my tv and my pc monitor are 60 hertz refresh. My pc I can feel slight response delay. With GTX ten eighty.
Debating between this the lg3488uc (not sure if this has better colors) or the dell alien ware AW348DW I'm a video editor first I've read that the asus has the same panels as LG but can't decide lol
Would you buy this monitor used today? Got the opportunity to buy a used unit in mint condition for 600$CAD (retails for 1400+tax) or would you think something newer would be better? (Around tthe 600 CAD limit). Its been used for 6 months or so.
Can you run that monitor at 1080 with lets say 120 or 144 hz refresh rate? I know it's locked to 100hz at 1440 but what about lowering the resolution accordingly to 1080 and setting higher then that 100hz refresh rate. Is that possible with that monitor?
any chance you could provide me with the dimensions of the monitor (without stand)... I get conflicting info from different websites..
Great review btw.
+juulmon 32-3/8" by 14-1/8"
I want to experience PG298Q's 144Hz but i also want this Ultrawide screen! I still can't decide which monitor to buy :( I don't care about blb as long as it is not too much like every ips screen has it.
hmm. on your video the monitor color seems alot blue ?
i just got this monitor with a GTX1080. Its nice but i could use a little more gpu power. Lets hope the 1080ti comes out
I agree I have x34 which is about the same and my gtx 1080 is ok. Wish I went with gtx 1080ti originally 5 months ago oh well
@@lan-elkrypton6887 It seems to run fine on a gtx 1070 I watched benchmarks, so 1080 should be fine unless you want 80fps max settings.
Great review but the music was too loud imho.
Worth it to buy used one for 600?
is there any difference between 100hz and 144hz? i wanna buy an ultrawide, currently holding up and waiting for the 200hz ones hitting maybe soon but my patience runs dry and thinking of buying the 348q asus, at 100. would there be any difference in terms of fps visibile to the human eye? i ve been playing bf1 mostly and that runs very good at 60-80 but it can go up to 120 sometimes...i think that 100hz is more than enough for any game to run smooth. i don t see the big fuss for going more than that. but maybe there is, i never tried it. i would give it a chance tho'. what do you guys think? i'm talking about strictly fps now. i would pay a couple hundred bucks more for that HDR, quantum dot if it makes a significant difference in visuals. i'm only buying a monitor once every 5 years so fuck it, YOLO.

with a 1080?? yes, that is more than enough. you have nothing to worry about , and the depth is about 30cm :)
What game wtih the street bike called?
Besides the acer x34, i think this is the only competitor in the ultrawide gaming monitor market. i've been watching closely for the price of this monitor. i think this monitor was released in 2015 and now its 2017. it didn't really dip in price. regular price (who cares really, vendors can simply put a fake price in it and sell it for discount, but its being sold at regular price of $1900 canadian dollars) but back in november 2016, on black friday the monitor sells for $1499 canadian dollars. waited for boxing day in december, it's being sold for $1599 so i didnt buy. i waited for another month only to get it $100 higher. LOL. that doesnt make sense. and now that all the holidays are over, its being sold back for $1699. oh well, CES 2017 might have helped, as acer has new 21:9 predator monitors but man, why the max resolution is 2580x1080 i mean why is that? Samsung also have their models and still stuck with 2580x1080. like come on guys, whats the point of 21:9 gaming if its not the magic 3440*1440 or something. oh well, that means this [asus pg348q/acer x34] is still the monitor to buy so thats why them acer and asus not lowering their price. no competitor!
Just got x34 for $500. Works great. Could of got pg348q for $650. I offered guy $620 but he wouldn't budge
Here we are in 2020. I bought mine on a new years sale for 700$. It had horrible Reds, backlight bleed and ips glow. Playing darker games like horror games was impossible, RUST at nighttime was completely washed out by the ips glow. brightness was at 27 any lower and there was no contrast. I returned it for a full refund. This was my first and last ASUS monitor. I dont give manufactures a second chance.
Can I use the USB ports for the keyboard and mouse?
Axel Baez Obregon Yes, I use it with the pg278q which is same system usb, corsair k70 works fine which is pretty power hungry
is there any firmware/software for this monitor?
none is necessary
100 hz ultra wide or 144hz 2k?....
Abel LLL very hard decision honestly
I know hard choose also once u get ultrawide u wont wanna go back
Go with ultrawide much better than an extra 44hz which you won't notice if you play triple A games
Why is the ROG logo flickering?
Alvin Villaflores refresh rate of video is different to the light (I believe that's how it works)
My PG348Q flickers along the top border when over 90Hz. Can't do 95 or 100 without this annoying flickering.
same issue with my five pg348q, dont think it can be fixed, its a gsync problem
Syregren shame no-one seems to be talking about this little feature
C Hill most reviewers dont catch the flaws, there is an "official pg348q owners club" 100rds of pages with the same issues. Its a great monitor and all, but the 100hz OC is at best, partly succesful on the five pg348q i have had on my desk.
That sucks my x34 does the 100 hz. I just got it yesterday for $500 on offer up app
waiting for OLED Curved 4k HDR Monitors
been hearing about ppl waiting for OLED monitors for like 10 years. The time for OLED monitors is not even on the horizon yet.
no complaints? this monitor doesn't have backlight bleeding?
+PQ5 I'm starting to think I'm pretty lucky, in my specific model I have had no BLB (Back light Bleeding) that I've noticed. But I've heard this a prevalent issue with IPS monitors and even more so with this specific monitor. Ranging from hardly noticeable to full blown horrible when viewing a black screen. So just keep that in mind everyone.
PQ5 also doesn't have 4K
No shit
I just got my PG348Q and its absolutley amazing, I have only very slight backlight bleed if you really look and search for it but nothing noticable. I dont think this product have alot of issues with blacklight bleed, the overwhelming amount of reviews I read it had very minimum of a blb issue comparing it to one of asus other monitors the pg279q which had alot of issues with blb and I had to return it 3 times before I decided to go with this instead.
Mine has BLB, I am trying to determine what level is acceptable. In two minds as to return it or not.
Hello
I have question, if i buy g-sync monitor can i use amd cards or no?
Pivot? I dont think so
I have to agree this monitor is absolutely amazing. In fact, I could tell it was amazing before I even un-boxed it... Of course I am joking. But if you can afford this, buy it, you won't be sorry...
There is NO Pivot Function!
x1.25.. much better
I HATE that stand. DESPISE it.
That's a deal breaker ...just one hdmi and one display port
