I have the 15inch version. Slightly different internal architecture. Changed the wifi card as per the video. All good now 👍. Wifi detected … now a useful MacBook 💻

So I would take wireless card out and turn on with it out. If you still get lagging it is most likely a chipset / logic board issue and would have to replace the entire logic board to fix. If it runs fine with wireless card out then you should be able to just get a wireless card and fix the issue. Below are links for both!

I replaced my battery on my MacBook Pro. Now one side's USB port works but the other side with the wifi card does not work. Any idea what it can be? Didn't take anything apart over there.. Ugh!

I have the same issue and the problem from the hardware but I didn't open the laptop form the inside because the computer specialist how told me that there was no problem in software and now Apple not support this version 2015 !! So there’s no solution because they cannot bring new Wi-Fi cards for this version since Apple don’t support it!!! ??😢 what is the solution 😢😭😭💔!?

I have a MacBook Air M2 (Apple Silicon) and My Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are both not working or greyed out I have reinstalled the OS, erase everything but still not working and on the hardware part I don't know if you have seen the inner part I don't see the Wi-Fi card anywhere can you please tell me what the issue might be and if it's repairable and if possible I think you should make a video on it there are to many people with this issue on the M1 and M2 MacBook Air's

Did you find a fix? A lot of the time we see this is due to a liquid spill. did you open to rule that out? Look near the card and if you see any corrosion etc, use a alcohol pad and clean it up!
In my case I changed the bluetooth connection works normally, I changed the same card as you and the problem continues, can it be the wifi antenna? Another doubt, is there order in the antenna connection cables on the wifi/bluetooth card?
Did you figure out? Also do it show the card working but weak signal? or no card at all?
Hi, whats the name of the cable from the board where the wi-fi is to the mother board? The one you refer on 2:04. I replaced the speakers and had to disconnect and connect that cable and now it says wifi hardware not detected, maybe I messed that cable so I want to try by replacing it. Thx!!

Hi! I changed the wifi card but stil not working. I just realized from your video that you tried an USB as a first step. I did it and the USB close to the wifi card is not working, so what does it means? Thank you for your help!!
So no matter what you plug into the USB port (Like a mouse etc) it doesn't detect?

I took my wifi card out of my 2015 macbook pro (Retina) 15 Inch to clean my fans and get rid of dust, and my wifi is not working but very very slowly.. I understand that this may mean that one of the 3 wifi cables connecting to the Wifi chip may not be connected properly.. Ive opened it back up and reconnected it and my internet problems seem to remain... any ideas?
Not sure if you figured out yet! But id unplug all three and with magnify glass or phone camera check all wifi connectors and cables. Sometime they smush or bend and wont plug all the way in! with tweezers you can straighten out etc!
If the USB port does NOT work like you tested here what would that have meant. I have this same model and had the same issue. I replaced the card and yet the issue persists. I have noticed that that usb port on the wifi card side does NOT get detected when I plug something in it, like you showed here. What does that mean?
So try replacing the entire I/O board, can see the board around the 8 minute mark!

my MacBook Pro 13 late 2014 stopped connect to wifi and the icon disappeared,, all of that after upgrade to Big sur OS, USB wifi doesn't work and only USB to wire network working.
I read some where that it need to change the wifi card and i m not sure if this will help or not?
That's odd since the wireless card should support Big Sur. But since its cheap and easy to replace I would try and replace it. They don't make a late 2014 on a macbook pro, only make mid in 2014. Here is a card that will work!

I am having a similar issue with my MacBook. However, when I look in the net work preferences Wi-Fi isn’t even an option. I only have an option for ethernet or to tether off my cell phone via USB. I’ve tried to add it, but again it doesn’t show as an option at all and the Wi-Fi button on the top right hand corner is grayed out so it doesn’t let me select it, any idea if this can also be a Wi-Fi card issue?
Most likely a WiFi card issue. If the card is not detected or causing large amounts of errors in the operating system, it will disable it and thus it completely gets removed from the menus.
Hey, thanks in advanced for all your help. I installed two new wifi cards, im thinking they are faulty from the jump because wifi nor bluetooth works. BT “connects” to my speaker but no sound. Although on my original wifi card sound does play via BT speaker. So I figured try a new IO board- boom, still no wifi. When I go to Network and attempt to add a new service, WIFI isnt even an option, only Thunderbolt 1, 2, and BT Pan is available. Also, it states Airport Utility is not installed. Im going to buy a third wifi card since I think the ones i got were lemons. Otherwise, what do you think the problem could be? Should I factory reset?
@@bluntash3794 Factory reset would be a good idea just to rule out any software issues, otherwise perhaps liquid damage on the board somewhere on the traces between the wireless card connector and the SMC.
@@computerspecialist8533 ty for the prompt reply! Dang. Liquid damage would be near impossible, wifi stopped absolutely out of no where! But im gonna do the reset, and i ordered a wifi-usb connector for now… otherwise time for a new laptop
@@bluntash3794 Any luck with the same? Facing the same issue as yours. Was on Monterey when this happend on my 2015 macbook pro. Wifi showed an exclamation mark, then went missing completely. I downgraded to mojave, cataline - the wifi sign went completely missing. Went back to Monterey , the wifi icon showed up but again greyed out with no option under network preferences. Bluetooth works. Just realised, now Airdrop is missing too. Are these two connected by anychance?
Fun fact - Airport Utility shows installed on Mojave but was showing not installed on Catalina. Forgot to check on Monterey. I am on Mojave as I type this. Will gong back to Monterey and then trying NVRAM / SMC reset help?
Unsure if it is the card or if me deleting some files from system preferences (few plist files) and restarting caused it. Trying to rule out everything before I replace the wifi card. Thoughts?

Hey I am trying to figure out what my issues is. I have MacBook Pro 2015 mine shows it’s connected but it doesn’t load or load very very very slow when I click on something. Apple wasn’t able to help me much they said it could be wifi card and quoted me something above my budget. Do you know what the problem could be? If so is it something I might be able to fix without further damaging. Thanks
Hi, it could be the WiFi card indeed (assuming you mean loading webpages). They are only a few dollars on eBay so it could be worth trying to swap it out. Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. Does it only show a few networks in the list when you go to connect? The only other possibility could be an issue with the antennas which are located inside the screen but there are several of them that connect to the WiFi card, but I would think its unlikely they are all bad.
@@computerspecialist8533 yes I mean loading the websites. The only way it works is when I am super duper close to the modem. As far as network I think
It shows me all that’s available.
I would say your issue is most likely the wireless antennas. Make sure they are correctly connected to the wireless card or replace the wireless card first. If that doesn't work, without replacing the screen where the antennas are located, you can buy a USB wifi dongle instead.

Hi my speakers were echoing so I figured I tried to uninstall and install again. Then my wifi button stopped working… I have a MacBook Air 2015. My speakers still echo but now I can’t go online… I tried to use my USB port on the other side and it works.. I brought it to Apple and they said everything seems to be connected.. any clue what happened and how to fix now?
My Bluetooth button works by the way so it’s not the wifi card right ?
It could be just the wifi section of the card even though the bluetooth works. Also you could try booting into recovery mode "Command key + R" during boot and see if it shows there (Would eliminate software issues!)
@@computerspecialist8533 Hi thanks for the reply. I went into recovery mode but I couldnt find an option to check my internet, when I tried to do recovery mode to go back in time for my laptop, it says no internet connection.
Since one side of my laptop's usb port is not working, does that mean maybe it is not reading my wifi card? I don't think so because the bluetooth is working.. do you think I should replace my wifi card or will it be a waste of money?

@@davechu326 Replace the entire board and I would try with your wireless card first. If usb's work and wireless still doesn't work after board, then try wireless card also!

I have the same problem, says "Wi-Fi hardware is not installed" but the usb and bluetooth works just fine, will try replaceing with a new chip and hopefully it works

i got a replacement chip form ebay using my MacBook model no(A1502) and then followed the instructions in this video and on ifixit's website to replace the chip and reinstalled macOS(Monterey) and now it seems to be working good as new. no problems so far. This video really helped, shoutout to the channel

@@auliawahyudi9965 Does it show the wireless card and have a weak signal, the 3 small wires are the antennas. If they are the problem the card should work but have a bad signal.
@@auliawahyudi9965 Yes you can do this but they never work as good as the internal. I would try taking the card back out and clean the contacts and all around the area with an alcohol pad.

I've just replaced my A1502 (mid 2015) screen. However, after the replacement, the Wi-Fi is dead. Bluetooth is OK, USB are okay, but the network is disabled.
Any clue about what might be wrong?
So the Bluetooth is built into the wireless card on this model. I'd try reseating the wireless card. Take completely out and clean contacts with alcohol, and also blow air inside the wireless card port. Also make sure its fully shut down begore this, not sleep mode (Shutting screen etc.) Top left click apple logo then shutdown in the pulldown menu. If this doesn't work next check to make sure none of the wireless antennae's wires where damaged during repair. I have bought units that have WI-FI issues and then see the antennae wire wasn't routed properly, so when they screwed the bottom on they put the screw right through the wire! Also seen this with webcam cable! If neither of these work, there is a chance the WI-FI / Bluetooth card went bad, maybe the bad motherboard took it out! Just hop on eBay and get another! Yeah the fact that the Bluetooth worked and the Wi-Fi did not would seem to be the card. Not to mention to this being a common issue with this model, hence this video 😂

My Problem is a little bit difficult to understand: After a little, little bit of water entering the side with the Wi-Fi/BT Combo, I dried everything, and Wi-Fi now is not working, exactly like in your video, but BT is working as usual. I thought, when the card is damaged, then the whole card is not working anymore. What can be the reason?
I would check the board for any signs of corrosion first, if you can't see any corroded board components then I would swap the wireless card. Try on a fresh copy of macOS or install media to be sure its not software related. While the BT and WiFi are on the same module, its technically possible for only one of the two to stop working.

@@computerspecialist8533 Ok, here’s the update: After removing the Wi-Fi/BT Combo, I noticed a little bit of liquid under it, which I immediately removed and let it dry half a day. After reinstalling it, it miraculously worked 😀
