Thank you for pointing out the hint regarding the USB C plug
I removed the plugged-in harddrive and it worked perfectly ✌️
Thanks brother, Your solution worked for me like magic. My Macbook wasn't detecting my 5gz wifi, But thanks to your advice of editing location, it magically started detecting it.
Thankyou
Hi, thank you so much! You just saved my life. All of my type C devices where plugged in and that caused the wifi problem.
Dude you just saved me a trip to Apple and perhaps some money. If anyone keeps getting the invalid password response then try disconnecting all usb plugs and it might work. I tried everything else and of all the things this is what helped. Thanks man 💪
Yeees the sleep wake tips worked beautifully thank you so much. Now I can finish homework on time✨
I’m truly grateful for this video. Wish I’d seen it before deleting all my apps and documents 😩
Just found this - a real life saver. My Mac was starting to run its WiFi really slowly which is not good as I have a video job interview this week! Thank you.
Thank you for this awesome video my WiFi is finally working this is great support!!
Changing the package size helped me out thank you!
This video is really SUPER! My MacBook was not running its WiFi steadly. The issue with my Mac was this: I was using 2 pen drivers connected to the USB ports and have tried many alternatives but no success after all. After viewing this life saving video, I found that removing the 2 pen drivers the Wi-Fi access to the router came back to normal. So, if you have such an issue with no access to your W-Fi router (or slow access as well), just try removing your your pen driver (just disconnect it from the USB port). Thank you very much, Phil, from Make Tech Easier!!!!
This video was very helpful to fix my Wifi Issue., Great job !!

I’ve been using my docking station for the longest time. I have two thunderbolt cables for my monitor output. Now all of a sudden I lose my internet connection within 10 seconds of connecting to my WiFi. I show I’m connected but I lose the internet, however, I show I’m still connected to the WiFi and my wireless router shows I’m connected. I just lose the internet. Any thoughts
The you very much 🙏🙏🙏
Sorry to say but none of those worked on mine High Sierra. My wifi is turned on but wont show available networks where there are a lot of networks available.
Exactly happened with me
Its really frustating me

Rooter? 😂
This worked! Thank you so much. I thought I was going to have to wipe my computer.
Thank you babe
Thank you, you helped me solve my issue. MacBook Pro 2018 connected to WiFi for months and suddenly it would not connect. It turned out to be a Logitech transmitter connected to a USB hub (type C connector). How can Apple make such a mistake? Something else I noticed is that if my MAC is connected to a 5.0 Ghz WiFi signal, all my bluetooth devices connect and reconnect; this is a well known issue. Unbelievable !!! Thanks again for your help.
so, there is no way to use that particular USB 3 adapter with internet? i have a FHD video capture device using usb 3, and when i plugged in it my internet connections dies.... any help?
I’m using a 2016 Mac I’ve tried all the steps and sometimes it connects to my WiFi and others it doesn’t but it has no problem on me tethering can you assist in any way?
I am having the same issue. Were you able to find out how to fix this issue?
The wifi does not event detect available network. List is empty. Can u help
HI! so this is what's happening..... like a month or so ago, my macbook pro dropped to the floor (about 40 cm high) but seems nothing was broken not even an scratch. All good and working fine. However, I noticed at home that the wifi was all the time trying to connect, and showing ON and looking for networks every 2 seconds... this affects the wifi performance since I have 100mb internet speed. I thought it was some problem with my home wifi but at the office my internet speed is even faster 400mb and my mac shows the same thing. ON for 2 3 seconds and looking for networks 2 or 3 seconds. Do you have any idea of what can cause this problem. could be the time the mac fell down? or just some wifi issues... I run all possible diagnostics already. thanks!
BTW... using a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) running Mojave 10.14.4 (18E226) and before my wifi always super fast
Please inhave followed all your instructions to have a wi-fi on my mac. In the NETWORK pane, no wifi is displayed apart from Thunderbolt and Bluetooth. Please can you help me to fix this. Or can you recommend a mac OS compatible usb wireless adapter? Thank you very much.
Has your issue been solved? I’m having the same problem
Thanso
EVERYTHING FAILED EXCEPT THE LAST IDEA YOU HAD! THANKS!
My MacBook Pro is in recovery, as I’m due to sell it soon. It’s a mid-2009 model. The WiFi icon is not showing on the screen, when it boots up in OS X Utilities. I’ve opened the MacBook up, checked the WiFi cable and airport card - I cannot see any problems.
I’m still so confused.
Any help is gratefully appreciated!
Hi I have an old a1186 Mac Pro . I’ve brought a new WiFi card , went to install it and theres no wires that should connect to it . I’ve got the bt wire which does the Bluetooth. I’ve turned it on abd it’s not coming up with any WiFi hotspots like my sky tv router ?
Can you help?
Not really certain I can help with specific hardware issues by remote control. You could always take it into an Apple Store and they might be able to advise you what's wrong. Good luck
Like and Subbed earned, you showed a second of how to restart SMC for desktops and I did that correctly and it fixed it thank you. If you are on desktop mac and your wifi is litterally not turning on or turning on for a literal milisecond and you trying to restart many times, add new interfaces or other methods. Do the steps on the screen at 3:41 this should fix your problem
Still My wifi is not working 😢
@@nahidsafdari3605 mine to it actually only worked for me for about a minute its sad
I need help. I sent my MacBook air for battery replacement. The Wi-Fi worked fine when I got it back. But after speaker replacement and a system upgrade, it isn't connecting to Wi-Fi. I tried the steps from your video, all of them and it finally worked. But once I shut it down and restarted, it not working. I tried doing the steps you showed again, but the same error occurs. It connects to mobile hot-spots.
the Wi-Fi is working fine on all other devices and the password is correct.
Yep! Mine was USB-C as well. Specifically, it was a Cloner Alliance video capture device Chert 4KC. If you want to use this device, you will have to use an Ethernet cable to get your secure connection. Thanks man! Very helpful!
Hi Phil...the WiFi is not an option at all in the sidebar of the Network window.Strangely, I have High Sierra on a partition and WI FI works fine. It's just when using Monterey.
Like mentioned in the vid, my WiFi doesn’t work because I have a dongle plugged in with an hdmi and Ethernet plugged into it. I need these things plugged in AND the WiFi.
What is the solution besides just unplugging the dongle?
My solution was to unplug the dongles, connect to WiFi, then plug the dongles back in. The connection stayed solid.
@@NanoTellez 3ks,very useful
Actually... After a while, even that doesn't work anymore. So I've started trying to wrap some aluminum foil around the dongle plug to shield the antenna. Sometimes that solves the problem. Sometimes I have to fiddle with the foil.
Soon Apple will come out with a $500 piece of foil tape to solve the issue...
WTF!! I disconnected my USB and it starts working off, Thank you so much for the video mate 🔥
Hi I upgraded my mac book air 2012 from Catalina to macOs Big Sur and since NO wifi...Please help me¡¡¡ I already tried all your tips...
Still not able to get online. I have a MacBook Pro Mojave OS. My WiFi shows 5 bars and my phone can connect but MacBook will not. It was working just fine until yesterday. The only thing I can think of is that I downloaded adobe creative and I had a technician login remotely to do a speed test. The speed test showed it was fast and worked. I went to bed and overnight could not log back in :(
My home wifi always connects, but trying to connect when visiting friends in Michigan, it will connect to wifi, but NOT the internet. Any ideas?
none of this worked for me :( Just bought MacBook Pro 1TB with 16GB and Catalina pre-installed. I erased a partition I accidentally created, reinstalled MacOs and restored from a previous backup... deleted those files in the Sys Config folder (per other videos) still no internet on my new computer... using old comp now, so I know the internet works... just not on my new laptop. It is afterhours for apple care and I have to work this weekend... don't know what else I can do, but try to go to sleep!
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Clifton
