    As a beginner with two cane corsos aged 2 and 10 months, I enjoyed watching your video on the Martin K9 e-collar. Can you recommend which one to buy?

    • @BLACKWOODCANINE
      @BLACKWOODCANINE  7 місяців тому +1

      Oh man, I started with a Corso. Miss her dearly.
      Honestly, as a beginner I think the Martin system collar is has too many options. I would recommend a dogtra 1900 or an e collar technologies 300. Those have enough features to satisfy majority of the things folks need. I will also say if you are a beginner, please get in contact with a local trainer who is well versed in e collars and do some lessons with them before testing things out on your dogs.

    Excellent video! I’m in the UK and bought a chameleon 3b, finger kick and k9 remote and it’s a great setup. I ended up getting another finger kick so I can use low level on one and correction level, if needed, on the other - all whilst having treats or leads (leashes…) in either hand! There doesn’t appear to be much info available about the detail and use of all the features, as you alluded to in your video, do you know of any resources so I can maximise the value I can get from this remote for my dog?

      Honestly, I’d reach out to Bart and Michael to see if they have any Gold Graduate Trainers in your area. They can teach you more about the system. There are SOOOO many ways you can use this thing.

    Do you still recommend getting the Chameleon? I realize this video focuses on the remote, but I’m curious about your perspective on the Chameleon collar, as there isn’t much detailed information available about it. I’ve been considering replacing my ET with the extender with the Chameleon for some time, but I’m unsure about its reliability and durability for long-term use. I would greatly appreciate any information or insights you could provide. Thank you!

    Do you notice latency with IIIB & K9? Mine has a noticeable & consistent latency compared to Educator & Dogtra without the finger kick; with finger kick the latency is even worse.

    • @BLACKWOODCANINE
      @BLACKWOODCANINE  Рік тому +1

      Actually, no I haven’t noticed that. I usually press the button a couple times after I turn it on to make sure it’s working before I put it on the dog. I pretty much only use the finger kick and it lights up immediately.

  • @workingweimaranerfromindia1467

    Martin Systems has continually push limits with a ton features. A problem I've had with them in the past has been reliability. I've own three collars from them and all of them were broken within 6 months. I'd love to see a follow up on this collar in a year.
    Excellent production on the video! Honestly this is the best produced dog video I've ever seen.

      I have 2 collars. My old one is still ticking. No issues. My new one is kinda new… well like a year old. No issues though. I am not a fan of the old way of charging them nor how some of the contacts can just unscrew and fall out. This video is more about the remote though.

    Looks good. But why so few levels of stim? At 100 levels, the mini educator would be more precisely tailored to each individual dog. At 18 levels the difference between each level is too much and you can never be as precise as with other brands. Every dog’s sensitivity is different. It only makes sense to be able to tailor the stim level.

    • @BLACKWOODCANINE
      @BLACKWOODCANINE  Рік тому +1

      Honestly, I’ve learned that a lot of those levels are a waste. I rarely work a dog on an in between level after 15. The jumps are usually by 5.
      If I’m using a chameleon, I actually have more flexibility via the app. I can change the intensity of the levels via the app.

    • @SamHaberONE
      @SamHaberONE Рік тому +1

      In the app you can customize each level to the exact stim you want. It can actually be set up to provide an even more subtle jump between two levels if desired.

    Way too many add ons that don't actually come with the collar. 1000+ for some conveniences you don't need vs 300 for a collar you'll use for a year or so then sell because your pup is well behaved.
