I find that these full pots are also many different cuttings that are shoved into the soil so it isn't just one plant. So some of the cuttings aren't as healthy as others.

My favorite plants are the jungle cactus! I'm a long time aroid head but those different and neat looking jungle cactus are quickly edging our aroids!!! Your micans is looking so much better! Yay!
@@BotanicalWoman I'm guilty of overwatering so I have them in a chunky cross between cactus and aroid mix in TC It let's me water them a bit more than if I used a slower draining mix. And I live in Louisiana so we have humidity galore lol. I did just get some rehabs from a friend in Cali and they do have a bit different growth than the established ones I have. Her mix is similar to the one i use so yes, I do suspect it may need a bit higher humidity over all. My favorite plant is my ponytail palms. I have 15 that live in 2 pots.Their names are Madison and Morgan. I have been growing them for almost nine years. They are living their best life! I love the ponytail palm and I raise them from little babies. I gave them names since they have been with me for so long. Who knew I could keep them alive and growing!! I think they may out live me. My favorite plant (at the moment 🤣) is my jewel orchid. It was a 🎁 a few months ago at 2 inches long with one purple leaf with gold lines that shimmer in the light! Today I noticed that although it is still 2 inches long it is now on its 4th leaf 🥰 My Mican didn’t like the window sill at all!!! I moved it and it started growing.... Hmmm, maybe the Mican is my fave 🥴 Happy planting!
Mine has the same kind of brownish reddish spots on a couple leaves after repotting and not getting a ton of light, so the stress of repotting does seem to do that to them!
My micans leaves are all green, they have lost the bronze-y-ness that was there on some leaves when i had bought the plant. They sit by a Nottheast facing window, bright indirect light. Do i need to work on the soil mix? Please let me know your thoughts and your advice. Micans is my favorite plant. I’m a new plant mom. I love your channel ❤️
About the wrinkly leaves in your video...it reminds me of what happens with the new leaves on a lot of pilea peperomioides. They kind of get domed or deformed. I’ve watched several UA-cam videos about it because mine is doing it. Some say it’s a watering issue (inconsistency, not necessarily under or over) and some say it’s just how the new leaves form and not a problem. I’m hoping it will get better in the spring when I can keep it outside where I’m better at watering.
so this video was made exactly a year ago. I should probably do an update. since i have refresh the medium, more light and not letting it too dry the leaves are looking more normal. I think with lower humidity environments, its more important to get the other factors rights. If you give your plant more water, you should also give it more light other wise you will get root rot. =( Story of my life =)
My favorite plant is the Adenium, the desert rose. My philodendron brasil and hoya krimson queen is my favorite right now. But it's hard to choose as I love my Peace lilys too.
Ohhh fun! My favorite plant is Philodendron Burle Marx. I have them in water and they are just so easy going and the fox face like look gives me smile whenever I look at them. FYI. I love Hoyas too but no plant can beat how fast PBM grows in general :)

But you know here in Indonesia, a lot of natives can't get nothing from their environment, jungles around them, but big company do. From a private collector. I purchased a single leaf rooted cutting for $10. Probably overpaid but I have never seen this sold anywhere else and it was pure luck I came across it on kijiji.

I can't bring myself to pay that. I have learned that waiting pays in the plant world. All these inflated prices will eventually come down!
I wish I could send you a photo, because my little baby Mican has one strand that the leaves are all coming out tiny and wrinkled, but the other strands are fine. I’m so confused.
this philo is a little more fussy compared to others, its needs a good amount of light, ~300 to 500 foot candles, i also have found it really doesn't like to dry out so watering it before it dries completely has also helps. and for me I also had to change the medium as there was a nutrient deficiency. I water with a little fertilizer everytime as well. hope this helps
my plant was potted in something that basically zero nutrients so its an extremely case, hopefully, you will never buy a plant like that. awwww the new white leaves are to beautiful. do you know how long it takes before they turn green?

sounds like you have some kind of pest? scale usually will leave sticky residue behind, not sure about the holes? something is eating it? I would examine for pest and treat accordingly.
do you have a light meter? if not you can download one with your phone for free. lux meter i think is the one i am using. your plant should be getting at least 200 foot candle. if you want bigger leaves i would slowly go up to at least 800 f.c.

I've been loving my scindapsus lately. The micans is on my list too. I just love vining plants.
Scindapsus has definitely been growing on me! I love how thick the leaves are and the matte finish is so beautiful.

from my experience so far, philodendrons do not like to stay moist, they seem to prefer to be slightly dry between watering.
