I think 11.7 isn’t nearly enough. We honestly need 14.0 at this point.
the problem is that they can't decompress the BRs too fast otherwise that opens up a whole other slew of problems, but they are moving way too goddamn slow

The SAPHEI on the JA37C is better than the HEI it oneshots almost every time. Also the velocity on the gun is the exact same as the vulcan

But still, i think viggen should get a option to use tracers, or they should finally re add radar gun indicator, its realistic, its fun, and its balanced, still cant understand why they dont want to add it back, because guns gonna be too OP or what, lol its missile era, so easier kills for guns should be awesome too, and this radar gun indicator its useless when u opponent know how to fly, its helping u, but its not a insta aimbot kill lol.
@@SuiSideex 30mm DEFAs and ADENs are bugged. IRL they have the most explosive filler out of all cannons shells in the game, but in game they don't fragment as much as they should.

the thing you've got to remember about the viggen is that the engine is tuned for low altitude performance so at high altitude you lack quite a bit of thrust
On the AJ yes, not so much the JA, the JA has the RM8-B (over the A on the AJ), which not only had significantly less compressor stall issues but also performed better at altitude to help with the JA's role of being an interceptor/fighter, comparatively to the AJ's ground and sea attack role. Even still, the AJ was quite capable and fast at altitude, just not nearly as efficient as the JA was.
Gotta love how the vigen in warthunder doesn't have the compressor issues this plane has in real life.. aoa isn't useful when your engine stops making power because it can't get any air lol

Both akan m/75 (Viggen C's special 30mm) and vulcan have 1000 m/s, it's just the akan m/55 that every other swedish 30mm plane gets that is slower

I should’ve clarified, my bad: I’ve done a poor job of comparing the lead distance by likening them to velocity when it’s positional. The Viggen requires more lead because the gun is below the fuse and close to the CG whereas most vulcans are placed after the radar in the nose
I will say, even the AJ-37 is pretty fun. Due to custom loadouts, you can now carry one flare pod along with one gun and the 2 9J's. Aside from aiming the single 30mm (due to no tracers), you got the Viggen-difference down at 10.3, and can afford to run only flares. Honestly a phenomenal aircraft that I think most people sleep on, since I rarely see them, though then again, Rank VI Sweden currently (and most likely will still be the case after the update) can be a pain to grind through.
AJ-37 got done dirty for a the longest time when it had to choose between countermesures and guns, so most people have just ignored it and those that have it don't even know that it's been changed.
Now with custom loadouts it's hands down the best 10.3 in the game, 11.3 worthy flight performance, two AIM-9J's, 30mm gunpod and CM's is a nasty combo at 10.3, especially with the constant downtiers.

@@Spitflyer the AJ is fine but honestly what do u think about Pulse Doppler vs only Pulse Doppler, all the planes carrying those are way more capable, and now the F-4E is probably one of the worst 11.0's
Let's not forget it gets tws and pd at 10.3. Even though it's sort of useless due to no radar missiles, tws is very helpful for finding players late game that are hiding. And can make it easy to setup a kill before they even know you know they are there

Every time I hear someone say "guns-guns-guns" for aerial combat, it makes my Joint Fires mind die a little bit.
The a5c isn't bad just not meta. I've been using it to grind the J7E and so far I have a 3 KD in it. It's just a heavier MiG-19 PT with Magics with meh cas ability. If you're competent with the MiG-19 then the A5c is very simliar just heavier and the rudder locks up. Surprisingly if you can manage to energy trap and get your opponent between 700 -900 KPH you will out rate them. If you get forced to overshoot, go vertical come down and repeat. The Magic 1's are still really good for that BR.

Just like the harriers, these fast missile boats with bad agility are a huge problem, and bad agility is hardly a balancing fighter. Especially considering the majority of planes around this br arent dog fighters anyway.

@@Demo-nv4lo because he's talking about the high angle of attack and alpha of the ja37c, the mig 27 has the same characteristics as the mig 23, where as the sukhoi has supermaneuverability and has like double the AOA and alpha of the ja37c(fact check this if its double, it might be less)
Are you doing Harrier Gr7 soon ? I'm curious to see how you play it, I can reliably get 2-3kill per game with it and I really enjoy the game play. the plane is very ''niche'' in its performance compare to any thing else at 11.0
iconic aircraft, tho it performs wierd in WT compared to DCS in low alt. In DCS is acceleration is unmatched at sea level

You gotta play the il2 (1942), that thing is absolutely ridiculous, just climb straight into enemy, let them dive on you, and rack up reversal kills, I’m averaging 5 kills a game with it, absolutely unreal and broken plane
You forgot the F-8 and j-8b those planes are very adept with taking on viggins
In the current meta the viggen isnt very good, before the f14 sure it was excellent but now its just not very potent at top tier.

Funny you mention the A5C. I was actually thinking about buying it to grind my top tier china. I prefer putting a talisman on a tech tree plane that I like. But china air around 9.0-10.0 is so bad. Theres not a single plane that made me feel like I could grind to top tier with. I used to play the f100A a lot a few years ago. Was very fun back then. But these days its just useless. And thats the same thing with all the other planes at that br. You have guaranteed uptiers to 9.7 every match. Or higher. China at that br has no flares at all. Even the starfighter at 10.7 has no flares. Its all just so bad right now. It makes me feel the only option left would be to buy the A5C.
i'd wait for the new q5a that is coming next patch, its a tree version of the a5c

@@kirby1601 You're wrong. The Q-5L can carry PL-5 and PL-7 (Aka Magic 1). Depending on the BR it's gonna be even better than the A-5C.
Have you tried to fly the J7-II? It's definitely my favorite plane to fly. The gun feels amazing and the performance in 9.3 is amazing. If you haven't tried it, give it a chance.

That's an L take. Just because they CAN bleed their speed when they turn doesn't mean they HAVE to. Just learn to fly delta's properly. The only real disadvantage of the Delta's we have now are the missiles they get and amount of missiles.
That being said, you're going to eat those words pretty fucking hard when we get the EF-2000, Rafale, Gripen, J-10, Tejas (maybe, it's Indian), and later versions of the M2K (Mirage 2000). Don't forget, the 2000-5 and 2000-10 can fire the IR and active radar versions of the MICA missiles (which have thrust vectoring btw), can also carry 6 (all IR or ARH) of them instead of 4 on the 2000C, they also have upgraded radars, and tuned flight performance with flight control computer, airframe, and engine tweaks.

I remember specifically hunting Viggens, because I noticed that Viggen pilots often think they can dogfight me.

We’re already at 11.7 instead of going to 14 or higher etc. they can literally just decrease the spread in which you get uptiered or downtiered. So instead of a 11.0 jet getting downtiered to 10.0 make its so that the lowest it can go is 0.7 or 0.3 a full 1.0 spread is crazy. There’s enough vehicles in each tier that you don’t need to face top tier jets at 10.0 and early Korean War jets at 9.0 😂 not saying they shouldn’t increase the BR to 14.0 at some point, but they should start with this first.
what grapchis card do you use and what are your settings?

To be honest I would agree with 11.3 but I guess that just the UA-camr bias Because my missiles see one flare and give up on jet. But it would be nice from Gaijin to give JA37C it's Rb 74s (which are pretty much aim-9Ls) and extra flares and chaff pods
How’s the overall Swedish tech tree? I’d really like to go through some smaller country’s aircraft, but haven’t really decided yet. I’m looking both for good (not necessarily amazing, just good) props and good top tier. I have the 23-MLA and Tomcat, and I’m really looking for something new and not just missile spam

@@yfbb1 though the D draken has a better engine, it actually is worse at acceleration and turning, since changes to aerodynamics really increased the weight. So, really, it’s advantage is only missiles, which is kinda not good. Not to say that the Aim-9Js are bad, but having only them at this br is underwhelming. Really think that draken deserves 10.3, especially when two MiG-21s are there and are basically better on everything except low speed turning
For props, it's quite hard to play. I use the b18b and got me to jets in 2 weeks, I recommend using that until you reach the jets (the early ones are really trash, I'd still change since the research efficiency would be less effective at tier V). That's my experience with props in Sweden, if you want fighters, then go for j21a or a21a (I mainly use the A21A, I don't use J21A cuz idfk what I was doing), good enough turn in at speed, fast at a dive and guns that kills anything it touches, down fall is bad climb rate, accel is worse than j21a since it's heavier, and your engine is on your ass, so if someone decides to go their and shoot you, your engine will basically die.
@@moldyheracles Thanks, i def will try out these. Also, since i already started the tech tree - i can recommend myself the J22-B. Its kinda average but it has great climb (you are pretty much on par with P-63s), 500 rounds per 50cal and an astonshing power/weight, that can outturn on verticals even the best props at 3.7. So definetly try it out if you wanna have an energy fighting experience

I was looking at the BR of this the other day. It gets a great PD radar and has dogfight sparrows. That's kinda the basic requirement for 11.3
Then if I'm not mistaken the Kfir is 11.3 and doesn't have any all aspect missles

Phoenix spam its absolutely the most no brain strategy in this game
And it works, its fking works dammit
From my experience, pheonix spam almost never works since people are starting to know how easy they are to avoid. The only people it works on are people who are literally afk or have no knowledge of top tier gameplay. I've stopped bringing pheonixes entirely as I would much rather have 2 more aim9H's or 7F's.

The viggen doesnt hold aim 9j's it holds aim 9p's its just sweden named them rb24j but the aim 9j and p3 are basically the same which messes with people but if they added the rb74 all aspect ir missile to the viggen then top tier will implode

I believe the gun on the Viggen is a license produced ADEN cannon like the ones on the Lightning.
(Edit: Apparently it’s a completely different gun made by Oerlikon called the KCA, I was confusing it with the Draken’s guns)
I thought the ja-37 used the AKAN like all the other viggens?
@@mintman825 They are technically, but they’re just foreign designs produced in Sweden under license, they give everything their own designation like the United States usually does with foreign equipment.

Another JA37C video, another piece of evidence missiles/radar/radarmissiles are broken for those of us who have to use ULQ for anything close to a usable framerate, when we two years ago would enjoy a solid and steady 60fps thanks to ULQ. That's my Gaijin.

It doesn't require any skill . At the start of the match it launches to missiles at people with no flares and gets 2 kills . Its a su25 but a bit worse for the game because it can kill people after it runs out of missiles
sorry but no. it is not really competitive anymore, especially not at your suggested 11.3 BR. pretty much everything about it got nerfed. the radar, the skyflash, the rb 24s. its wings are still made out of wood ffs. it just simply does not compare to the top dogs....
you might say "it does everything" but it doesn't do those very well. it has no reason to be at 11.3

Not particularly for the sake of the Viggen but across the board which means that the JA-37C benefited from it.
Radars don't randomly lose lock as easily and the E-2/Skyflash turns almost as hard as a freaking R-60.
@@michaelstodovski2219 the radar is still complete ass. it detects targets yes but it absolutely sucks at getting and retaining a lock. its really easy to notch and surprisingly sensitive to chaff. the skyflash is also just not that great of a missile because it just lacks energy. they're being dodged under 4km which wasn't the case 4 updates ago or so. there was no buff to this radar in particular

just got this thing and currently massively negative KD - I am not a great player but the new 11.7 meta has completely fisted 11.0 and you can't do SHIT in 90% of the games before its over in 5 minutes or you get clapped by a mig 29/F16

I don't understand how it hasn't come yet, a working version of it has been in game for like since the t2 was added and I see no reason it couldn't have it, even if it's not accurate to irl directly it would still work for a stopgap

J35D cant beat the j7E and mirage 2000 tho unless youre good enough to use full real controls during crucial turns, the 35A can without.

@@katgut almost all radars used to have lead indicators, but they were removed from Air RB for realism, along with the missile launch indicator. Although radar lead indicators can still be found in air arcade iirc

Viggen is ofc better but the F-4F is still also 11.0 worthy. In an ideal world the Viggen is 11.3 and the F-14A is 11.7

The warthunder community is hilarious.. everyone thinks a .3 br cap expansion or .7 is going to fix the balance issues when literally almost every br in the game is compressed and has broken aspects.. I mean this, they legitimately need to expand the br system to 14.0 or even more to compensate for all the broken tiers And this will *never* happen.
It still does not have its correct speed though.. it is a MACh 2.1 in real life..
and its wings are still made out of wood
