4.0 still has a bunch of these, and most just bomb bases and run, or ground pound and die. Shame. This thing is amazing at hit and run, probably one of the best planes to do so. Did a 7 kill game in a Dow tier just by HnR.
This plane grinded most of my British props, so it has a special place in my heart.

Took it out for a spin after not using it for months, 800m convergence and stealth belts, easy 6 kill game
I remember the Wyvern being a terror back in the day when it dropped. Rarely see it as much these days but it can be a real nightmare when im playing slower planes at low tiers if the player has a general idea of energy management.
My favourite tactic is just go full speed on the deck right under their fighter climb path. The entire enemy team dives down to follow you and loses their altitude advantage.
it used to be 4.7 with an airfield spawn iirc. i played about 500 games just fking with the enemy's climb. would still get the occasional p47 or p51 that would chase you right to the edge of the map and get a lucky fire (fires n e v e r extinguish in the wyvern) so you wouldn't see the outcome of the match but i like to think that if the allies aren't complete braindeads, my sacrifice helped.
I see it almost every game, then again I mostly play Britain...

I just came out of 10 games with minimum 3 wyverns each
Realy love the wyvern, it was my first plane to get crew up to 75 and have free ace crew as well. I think the best thing for the wyvern is the fact is a rank IV and 4.0br. you can grind all of rank V easily
It's the secret of how I got all of my English crew's levels maxed out, I just traded it in and out of each slot. The thing is probably the best grinder the Brits have.
Been playing the Wyvern in EC3 a lot this week. The sheer speed you can maintain makes it a really easy plane to dictate fights in. You always have the option to ditch out and reset the fight as long as you pay attention. Great showcase Spit.
Love to see a video of my first and still-favorite premium! Little tip as a Japanese learner, the "Ki" in Ki-44 is pronounced like "key" in English.
Vowels are a bit different over there but they're consistent in their sound;
a = "ah"
e = "eh"
i = "ee" (like the e in me)
o = kind of its own sound (like the o in cold)
u = "ooh" (like the u in plume)

I mean it used to be higher but people play it like an attacker/bomber so that's why it's BR is low, not saying it's justified.

Well, very few can, but funny enough, the one the comes closest is also British: the MB.5, at 5.0. And I love that stupid plane for it.
@@TheAmazingCowpig mb.5 is still significantly slower on the deck though. But slightly faster at 2 km.
I think the P-63 can but only after a long time. The Typhoon MAY be able to do similar but I’m not 100% sure on that
@@Spitflyer only at 3km and higher. Tempest can catch it at seal level, but barely, also p-51h, f-2g and bearcat can do it more reliably
a turboprop from 1953 at br fucking 4.0 is insane, gainjin mustve been on so many drugs putting it there

IMO after playing the Wyvern for an awful lot of time, it got acceleration and speed nerfs that make it feel like shit. If Gaijin were to revert those nerfs and put it at 4.7, I'd say it would be fair for both sides.
I think it used to be at 4.7 but thanks to a lot of braindead idiots dying in it, Gaijin decided to put it at 4.0.
And, Gaijin changes the BR of the vehicles on our performance in game.
I got a friend to buy it since he was curious about playing the British tech tree, safe to say he loves it almost as much as I do, it's my most played vehicle btw.

For the massive power of the Armstrong Sidderley Python, it's hauling a damn heavy gal at 7 metric tonnes even empty weight. Damn thing is almost in the same weight-class as a twin engine medium bomber.
I saw the wyvern in any br from 3.0 to 6.7
All my craziest carrier landings have been with this thing
Everything I start a new line I cry a bit because I know I'll have to deal with wyverns at 3.0 all the way to like 6.0 because they work no matter their BR lol

More then a little unfair! airstart in RB air , plus 4x 20mm Guns, fast (Turboprop) and when not flown with Brainafk you cant catch this dam beast in RB air, Wyvern`s BR is too low.
Tried this for 5 matches, every time I climbed the whole team was down low and when I tried to go for the 1 enemy climbing he was shot down before I could reach him.
This game really went to shit
Have you done a video with the clipped wing Griffon Spitfire? That's been one of my favorite grinders for the British tree. I like it much more than the tech-tree one, since Griffon Spits are less "turnfighter" to begin with, so the clipped wing compliments it nicely whereas it really fucks over the Merlin-engined MkXVI.
In War Thunder can you eject from it while underwater?

Only thing more ridiculous than this is climbing in an il2 (1942), that thing is a reversal beast, I get an average of around 5 kills a game, don’t even bother bringing bombs or rockets, just climb to 2500 to 3000 meters and rack up the kills
can i ask how you have that crosshair with what looks like gun placement?
Pretty sure the ring is just where the mouse is going to point the plane to, and the crosshair is guns aim.

yes but most wivern player jus go in with bomb dive and try to kill a few target. this is just a plane for grinding the tree for most player, I very rarely see Wivern actually dogfighting

It's funny how Wyvern is amazing in ARB while being garbage in AAB (Source: I have the Wyvern and it's one of my biggest disappointments, if not the biggest one)
It's similar to Do-335, which is also garbage in AAB (premium one is ok-ish because of its armament alone), not sure how it performs in ARB tho.
The tech tree 335 is like the Wyvern but with less guns, less bombs, slower, a worse turn-rate and a 0.3 higher BR.
It is better at climbing though.
If you want to enjoy the Wyvern in Arcade take it into naval.
Triple 1000 pound bombs every 40 seconds is outrageous against boats and you're fast enough to bully all enemy bombers. Ridiculous fun and makes a lot of SL.
@@thedigitaldummy3098 Well, being better than Wyvern doesn't say much but yeah. Climb rate doesn't matter much in AAB unless it's outstandingly good or outstandingly bad.
