Hej hej. Could you do a video about data link systems that could be added to 4th gen fighters and how that could work in game. I have an idea of it being a fov extension to your radar outside your search zone where enemies detected by friendly data link capable aircraft are displayed. Some datalink systems are more and less accurate and maybe with diffrent sizes to this datalink area on the radar. Thank you!
By the way A-7D might do better than this thing even (similar loadout stuff but just subsonic)

I recommend using the TWS Mode on the radar, it’s basically a free blind hunt, it grabs on to a person it sees and gives you all the information you need to know to have a easy intercept. All of this while they are only getting searching pings on their RWR.
AJ37 doesnt get TWS, only the Jaktviggen does

I think the large maps are something we really need for games at 11.3, where everything has long range radar missiles, however anything below that should not play on them, the fact that you can still get a prop game on the canyon map is stupid.
I think the best way to solve it otherwise is to just make RB EC it's own gamemode, something like air sim but with RB difficulty, i would play it all the time.

Lets take your own quote of spit's statement : 'jets are faster and capable of BVR engagements' . Which one of these planes are capable of BVR engagements?
Most planes and that BR bracket have AIM-9 G/J/L who will be 3-4 km range, with the exception of the AIM-9 L that might be 5-6km range.
You need a powerful radar set with long range semi active/active radar guided missiles such as what the F-14 gets.
The issue is that maps like these have been put at BR's where planes don't have the BVR capabilities to do any BVR engagements.
I don't see how one statement mutually excludes the other, there is a place for large with more BVR capable planes being added at max BR, its just not suitable at this BR.
@@kannonfodder4198 sure the map is too big for that BR, but in terms of top tier it is a very good map, second of all, it will make the transition to newer and newer jets more seamless, so that we don't have gen 4's flying the same maps as WW2 era prop planes
You could just use the 1st stage of the afterburner, which doesnt burn as much as the maximum WEP does. Just scroll up once with the mouse when youre at 100% to reach that 1st stage

You can just call it the attack-Viggen to distinguish it from the fighter variant. Also it honestly sounds like you were calling it the jakt-Viggen a few times which is wrong, that's the JA 37 (also before anybody comments I know it's spellt without a hyphen in Swedish, it's just there to make it easier to read for the English speakers..)
Yep, AJ and AJS can be just called "Viggen", and then JA-37s can all be called Jaktviggens
And of course just J-Viggen and A-Viggen.... though that moght become harder if more variants are added

I certainly agree with the opinion on the large maps, they would be great if they came with a different game mode, but with the regular RB they just increase the time until the furball starts, and then needlessly drag out the late game
I absolutely love the larger maps. It’s not like the mindless CQC crap. I wish EC was more frequent with planes, or even jets. Having the fights more spread out where you can ACTUALLY have dogfights while micromanaging your fuel is more enjoyable.

Seriously, I get the problem below 9.0 with this map and especially at prop BRs where they definitely don't belong. But anything above 9.0 is transsonic or super sonic. Just because a selected few vehicles don't work well on this map it's not a problematic map.
Planes that are BVR capable start at 11.0 not 9.0, everything below usually carries short ranged missiles.
@@allena5545 That wasn't the point anyway. But at 9.0+ jets become fast enough that the small furball maps aren't ideal for gameplay with them.
I like the EC maps. The size gives good opportunities for bombers and attackers to do their thing more efficiently

We need these huge maps to be used for a completely different style of play:
RB hardcore(Enduring Confrontation)…No markers for friendlies or enemies so you have to either visually spot or radar scan planes to tell who they are, no time limit and let the match keep going even with only 1 player, a maximum of only 4-10 players in the match TOTAL and about 20 x as many ai targets and objectives.
But that is what sim is for. It would be difficult for newer players to do well if the rb was how you wanted
I was questioning your fuel load at first, but when you ignited the afterburner *holy crap* you weren't kidding, that has to be one of the most inefficient jets in the game
From what I’ve heard, in real life they’ve never gotten a confirmed top speed of AJ-37 Viggen. Because whenever they tried reaching it, they would still be accelerating significantly by the time they’d run dangerously low on fuel.
It has the most thrust out of any single engine in the game pretty sure,

@@znail4675 ummmmm… no. There are plenty of jets with more thrust than the Viggen. The F-16 is one, for example.
@@collander7766 You are only looking at nominal thrust of the engine when mounted on a test bed. That does not always accurately reflect the actual thrust when in flight.
Got the Ja37. Its so good in taking out F14.
And to be honest I guess with better rockets it can still compete at 12.3+ or what Rank 8 will bring with

I also have a question. When I watch your top tier videos, you seem to be climbing most games. Whenever I climb I'm automatically the taret of 40 Phoenixes, so I usually fly low to the side and flank. Now I know I can just 180 and dodge them easily, but it does get kind of annoying. Do you also do this or is there some trick to not being constantly targeted
I’ll normally climb once I max out my SL speed so I don’t waste the energy. If I need to dodge the phoenixes I’ll have speed and alt to do a 180
Notch and drop some chaff, and it'll drop lock, if it doesn't just turn and it won't be able to keep up, the Aim54 turns horrendously

Grand canyon would be a good map if we actually had RB EC

Large maps arent a problem, he is just finding excuses because large maps arent "content friendly" (that's the real reason, admit it)
Climb with 1st stage, level out, enjoy, hold the full AB for combat
I love the big maps, especially for grinding
I avoid getting shot down for starters and I can make 30-50k rp depending on what attacker I'm using
Anyone know if the aj37 can take out a base? I want to unlock it first so I can grind the other jets with it. Not sure if its good for that tho
Love those large maps, but, BUT - you need plane with radar and team that wont press J after loading into map. Lately I had some issues with spotting which is horrible at these big maps with anything without radar.
The EC maps are way better than the small ass maps RB normally has…
Any advices about "getting" there, Spit? There is J34, J29, J32, A32 and nothing seems enjoyable among them...
If you are open to advice, i recommend the J29A, then J29F to unlock the aj37.
J29a is pretty much uncachable at its BR and you can do some good tricks with combat flaps as early as 600 km/h.
J29F is a bit less competetive but easier in how to use it. Also has Aim9B's
Sadly the lansen doesn't realy work out (for me at least) as it has no flares bad missiles turns like a brick and is very slow.

I'm going to disagree with you on 1 point. I really like the big maps, but only for TOP TIER jets. it actually gives them room to fly instead of take off right in the line of fire. I got the Grand canyon map at 5.0 one time... it was awful ended up doing a canyon run instead of fighting.
Rocky cannon is a beatiful map, what a shame it doesnt fit the team deathmatch meta air RB has become (like all EC maps).
I can't fly worth a crap much less dogfight so I like the bigger maps. Graphics on max and just look around and have fun until I get got. Your dogfighting knowledge is impressive I wish I knew half the stuff you talk about in videos
I do know I have flown over rocky canyon in a rank 3 bf-109f4. Boy was it’s a very interesting experience that you are in a prop on a big jet map is a weird one and I was the last guy on the team and I didn’t know the last guy was a b-25j-30
tbh i have been finding the crusader less and less playable because of compression. it just cant manuver hard enough to dodge 7fs, r60s, (most of the time) etc and it does have flares but theres a lot of times where they dont make the cut to help evade missiles and it goes the same for chaff. its dogfight performance is great but it does not have 9cs, it does not go mach below 2500m and it performs kind of like a bus when exceeding 950kmh. it just cant really stack up to the f14s, sometimes mig23s, viggens, kfirs. you get the point. then again it could just be a skill issue.
I know that the grand canyon map is absolutely bs, what do you think how I feel when I get thrown on it with my 5.0 bomber?

Fun fact, the massive canyon map is the only EC map I get in props and it's immensely awful. For some reason it's the only one I've ever gotten in props, and it's i think the largest one.

@spitflyer I love your videos but I don’t share your opinions on the large maps….. I prefer the larger maps when you actually have to use your radar to find enemies and manage your fuel just adds an extra layer of gameplay that I feel we as pilots need.
Watch as Gaijin move this jet to make their premium more appealing by not having a proper counter at that BR
I guess we can agree to disagree on the maps. I hate the ADHD rapid-fire knifefights. These sizes of maps give top tier planes room to stretch and actually function as intended.
As long as it's just in supersonics, yeah. Trying to cross the whole map at 700km/h in a subsonic jet is painful. The only other thing is that the AA is way too lethal, you can't go ground pound if you don't want to spend time spotting dots.
I 1v4 clutched grand canyon in a harrier gr3.
the map is so large I was fighting them 1v1 time after time and in 3 out of the 4 fights i just forced overshoots because they where 3xF-5Cs and 1xF-104
the F-104 lost a head-on and i killed the last F-5 with 2 mins left on the game clock and 30 seconds of fuel remaining
It sure as shit is better than getting prop maps in supersonic planes, what's the point when you can cross the entire map in 2 minutes
I got this map with my Wyvern, half the players left in the first 5 minutes
these planes would be so much nicer if they added afterburner modes normally the viggen has 3, the first takes a bit more fuel but is a lot more powerful than using it at 100%, 2nd stage is the same but compared to stage 1 and then stage 3 which absolutely INHALE the fuel but it is INCREDIBLY powerful. Ingame we only have 3rd stage fuel intake with 2nd stage power
Hey btw you get this map with 4.0’s. I got this map to no end grinding low tier Swedish bombers. It was the worst. (Think I was in the T18B?)

Gonna have to disagree with you with EC maps, I think they add breathing space to toptier games which was very much needed. With the introduction of 4 generation fighters the traditional maps would lead to missile pile ups 2 mins after takeoff and just sucks overall since you cant be aware of 12 planes all at once. Now at least in EC maps you can pick your target and it can allow for some dogfights without the entire enemy team joining in 30 seconds after you merge with the guy.

I don't think Spit understands a majority of us need to grind to get to these planes that are good against "wallet warriors". It's beyond frustrating and is complete and utter shit to go against these premiums in the meantime. Jets aren't worthwhile even with the upcoming update.
Whilst this is true, remember that planes below them can’t do anything against them and most of them can’t out turn the planes or out run the missiles. Sad days
Im still angry about no tracers for the Swedish 30 mm. Either give it tracking radar like they had or give it tracers again.
I have had a ok time in this jet. Im not really sure what to do at the start of battle since it only has rear aspect tracking. The aim-9 Ps doesn't track good at that BR compared to the opposition. I might just be bad tho

@@Katherinanya hello. This comment is quite old at this point so now after around 11 months later I have the ja37D and am halfway through to the Gripen. The Swedish 30 mm is incredibly random. Due to mostly 2 factors, no tracers and the gun changing position depending on what kind of jet you play (for example the J35A has 2 canons implemented in the wings but the J35D only has one cannon on the left side). What semed to help me was to activate Vertical Targeting and have gun zeroing at 800 M. This took a little bit to get used to but the VT and zeroing made it so I barely had to compensate for drop which eliminates one of the problems.
One thing I also had to train my brain to do is ALWAYS lead more than you think you need to because even if you miss your first shots the second burst might hit.
Going back to the different canon placements on the jets, the ja35D gun is not in the belly of the jet as it usually is but is instead on the left side, like the AJ37s gunpod. The high velocity from the gun makes it fire on the left side of the target if the target is to close to you. For example you meet an f5c in a head-on, you have vertical targeting on and guns zeroed at 800. What I usually do is wait for them to be around 9-600 meters away before firing a quick burst just off-set and above the target and then pullout from the headon. Alot of the time they dont even see you fire so they won't pull after and just run into the 20 rounds of 30 mm rounds.
As for a prolonged dogfight I would say conserve ammo, never waste more if you are too unsure about the hit. Simply tapping when you can eventually crit them once or twice. It's better to pull out of the fight with ammo left instead of being in the dogfight when you just burned up 150 rounds into nothingness.

@@Katherinanya also in the headon. Sometimes if you have vertical targeting you have to aim below the target (not by much but around where your top crosshairs touch the target). This is pure chance and me guessing if it's going to miss or hit, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt

Rocky canyon has the honour of my most boring match, since i got it in a 4.3 match with my french yak, my god it took 14 minutes to get to the halway point and by then all the bombers had destroyed the bases and there was nothing left to do. Its just so pointless and would only really work with high gen 4 aircraft like the tornado, f-16 or the mig-29 imo

The guns are absolutely trash. Gaijin seems to forget that the reason swedish jets didn't have tracers was because they had a radar lead but they havent modeled it in yet so its just unusable.
JA 37 and later versions also have auto-aim mode where the computer takes over to aim the plane correctly.
I think that they had it with some more jets like phantoms and i got removed, bc in arcade there is radar lead present and working but in name of balance they removed it from rb

Well the mirages also get big rocket pods that should work also as fuel tanks
It is not modeled correctly. It should have 18 flares and a MASSIVE CRAPTON of chaff which is stored in rolls in the middle section but oh well...
@@zahnatom yep its supposed to have like 400 chaff its the same for the a32a it should have about 450 per pod so 900 total but only gets 32
@@einar8019 its unfortunately hard to prove to gaijin because its not a set value of chaff packets but rather just rolls that get pushed out of the end and break off into small pieces...
also about the flares: they could be double stacked but idk thats just speculation
