If you are using the R27ER at long range (15km+), unlock the target after you fire it. The missile has inertial guidance and datalink so it will keep flying to the target as long as you keep it lit on radar. Then relock the target when the missile gets closer. This gives the target no RWR lock warning for 90% of the missile's flight duration. If you time it right the target will have less than 5 seconds to react. TLDR use it like an aim54 but you have to manually lock the target again.
Unless one enemy player is Spaceclimbing this doesn't usually work early on in the game when nobody from the enemy team has died, everybody's flying low and it's a target rich environment which is is what you'll spot 90% of the time down range.
There's no way you can accurately re-obtain your intended lock with that much clutter.

I feel like the Yak-141 is a good addition to the game. It's not game breaking or OP, it has a niche and it does it well, it has a few quirks in its flying performances that really punishes people who both don't know how to fly it and fly against it.

This plane is slept on by way too many people rn. This thing can dominate 12.0 matches. It's essentially the combination of the hmd and the ability to carry 2 27ERs in combination with 2 27Rs. If you have good situational awareness you will win almost every heading and there is nothing you can do to defend against it.

Pretty sure it’s not exactly the same. Similar, but there are only a few ways that this can be done. I’ve heard that there was an American VTOL project with that type of system, before the Yak 141.

It climbs so well, for fun I climbed both the f-16 and yak-141 from high speeds at sea level to a 90 degree climb and the yak-141 got a couple km higher at 15km before I stalled.

Yo spit_flyer can you try and use the Spitty F mk.XVI because theres one vid that review the mk.XVI with commentary but i need more details like all of the details of how to use it i got for a reason because its unique so try make a full in depth review of the mk.XVI. (plus do a comparison video of the Griffon spitfire in the tech tree) I did bought it then i get the LF mk.IX and i know that the others might prefer the LF mk.IX nor call it the best Spitfire of its type!

While much less useful, the Phoenix is still bigger and longer range than the 27ER. But the ER is far better and more useful in basically every situation.
You should only use vtol all the way up to 56% that allows u to use AB at the same time

What graphical settings do you use?
Everything as high as it goes, no DLSS, no SSAA
To be technical, the AIM-54 Phoenix has the longest range. However, as far as threats go, the R27ER is leagues ahead of the Phoenix, though the Phoenix is a Fox-3, so the Tomcat could disengage once the Phoenix is within 20km. Still would rather have the ER tho
Yeah Soviets get it easy with the ER, no counter ingame rn, I’m thinking aim120 a / b since they entered service around the same time
