I think that changes to game modes are also greatly needed. At the moment none of the modes particularly encourage either teamplay or endurance play, and it’s far, far too common to see players just abandon matches early in every mode.
remember the days where dogfighting people actually earned points in match instead of kills / assist only? after that change people rarely dogfights anymore

there's like 10 years of aircraft development in br 1.0 to 6.7ish, whereas jets in the game span like 40 years of technological development and are all from 7.0 to 11.7

Wouldnt that just make it so way more matches are made? So instead of starting 1 with 16 players its two with 8 players, but the amount of players is the same so queue times are the same as before?

I’d love to see bigger maps with modern runways, but multiple runways per team. At the start, players could spawn at random on these runways and patrol. New AI types would spawn such as AWACS or Cargo planes that would have to be escorted or eliminated, having an effect on things like spotting range, radar sensitivity, and repair time on the runway. This would not only encourage team play, but also diversify gameplay and make it possible to play in your own style

It was only the top dog because the SRAAMs were so overpowered and because most planes didnt have flares, now most of its enemies have flares, better speed, missiles, and turning
the Ju288 has created its own biosphere due to features (2×1800kg, air spawn, mg151 tail gun) but Gaijin insists on 4 bombers and 2 fighters teams as some sort if balance. This then faces teams of 6 fighters or me in an A26c and 5 attackers (Gaijin wants me to suffer to win). I no longer see the Ju288 as a guaranteed win but it's a guaranteed big earn before you die.
I hate those things on my team because they rush bases with their speed and then the rest of us in non premium bombers get shredded on the way to the airfield.
i think Gaijin took a look at how DCS goes with the Modules for the pricing, they do sell Full fidelity modules for 70-80$. or took a look at Wargaming and how they fincance the games.
Yeah except DCS's modules are very high quality, and can contain multiple planes (iirc the Mirage F1 module will receive more variants later down the track) whereas gaijin is just copy paste
One of the issues is that the BR system was not designed with missile tech in mind. The AIM-9B was introduced in the late 50’s and the and Lima in the late 70’s. These are completely different systems. This would be like justifying placing the P-51C and the P-51H in the same BR bracket because they have the same letter and numbers in the front.
I’m in agreement about needing fewer player in each match at top tier for the smaller maps. In regards to RP, it winds up exactly the same because RP is almost entirely based on how long you’re alive. I think 6 people would be the sweet spot, but 8 would make more sense because of squad sizes.
8:34 Another major issue is the Ju288. I like the design of the He162, it's such a weird plane but it's neat. Too bad when you wanna fly it you either get uptiered to everything that can murder you, or you're in a 5v5 match with you, and 4 Ju288's vs 4-5 enemy fighters who also all equally outperform you.
This comment is going to be a big one so get ready but I know I’m not alone on this. Bombers need a rework. First thing we need to establish is more bombs to destroy a base. What will this accomplish? A few things, and if you know anything else comment it, strike aircraft such as su-25, su-7, a-10, and so on, will disappear from air rb. Obviously not completely because there’s more targets than just the bases. The idea of this is to add strategic bombers and stealth bombers. Let’s establish another thing, “Strategic bombers” as a title. You’ll notice that planes such as the B-29 or TU-4 have the title “Long range bomber” there is no aircraft in the game that has the title of “Strategic bomber” at least to my knowledge. What I’m suggesting is any plane added with said title or similar, and has a carrying capacity of over 25k pounds should be given a spawn height like no other. I don’t see planes like the B-52 or B-1 ruining tank rb. They’ll likely cost as much as a nuke with that kind of carrying capacity. I also believe more forms of countermeasures should come to the game such as ECM. This would greatly enhance the survivability of said aircraft.
Gotta say I disagree with the proposed spotting distance on EC. It might work as a band-aid solution but imo doesn't work in the long run. Maybe we can see something like 3 point checkpoint capture like in GRB to nudge players flying in a few groups?
We really need a separate Air RB EC mode with respawns and then normal air rb at top tier should be 7 vs 7. 12 vs 12 is way too crowded for those small maps at top tier.
@J Wilt nah I say they keep the current random battle game mode for the ADHD zoomers that currently enjoy it and create a RBEC mode for everyone else. Otherwise the people who turn current air rb into a complete clusterfuck furball would do the same in ec.
I think Gaijin's problem is that every patch they need to add more and more new stuff and the more powerful the better all the while not increasing the BRs accordingly. New features should equal new battle ratings to fit those new features
Adding cannons to an F-4u punted it 2 BR's above it's 50 cal predecessor, a 2 BR jump at the top end gets you from a MiG-21C/F-104A to a MiG-29/F-16... the BR system is a broken joke.
The biggest issue with the pricing of the premiums is they bundle shit into the packs just so you have to pay more by artificially inflating the price. (Notice how the $70 packs have more premium time and more GE than the $60 packs). So its blatantly you're not paying the extra for the higher rank plane, you're paying for the extra shite they force onto you. There should be an option to just buy the planes without the added items.
We NEED air RB enduring confrontation at top/high tier. The small team deathmatch arenas just don't fit their playstyle at all. Because of how the game modes work all planes at high tier have to be balanced based off of their air to air capability. This is why things like the A-10 and Su-25 are such a low BR because if they were higher then they would literally be useless. If ground attack was actually viable like it is/was in EC then these niche aircraft would not have to be so under tiered and could actually share top tier BRs and still be very useful and fun to play since they could actually stretch their legs and be used how they are supposed to. A dedicated ground attack aircraft should never be the best air to air fighter in its BR, its just silly. But because air to air capability is the only thing that matters in WT air RB, they get massively under tired. I should also mention that if EC was made the main game mode then not only could alot of BRs be adjusted but more playstyles would be viable and enjoyable which means more people would play this part of the game, reducing queue times and making the grind not seem nearly as bad. Its always strange to me how in depth a lot of the mechanics and features of many vehicles can be but are absolutely useless or pointless because the game modes encourage really quick close quarters battles with very little use of strategy, and that applies to both air and ground battles. I know Gaijin wants the players to be frustrated to encourage sales, but if you reduce the overall player base by ruining your own game then they will never buy anything nor would they ever recommend new players join the game. If people genuinely enjoyed playing then there would be more old and new players actually playing and potentially buying stuff. The only reason Gaijin actually try to improve the game is because there are still people who are buying their stuff. But eventually, Gaijin will push all their players away or they will run out of new shinnies to keep adding. They are selling out the games potential for further long term-success in return for large short term profits based off of crappy/predatory business practices.
A idea I had regarding planes like the Su-25K with missiles that are way better than there flightperformance, that the secondary weapons loadout you have equipped in the hangar can change your br. For example with the Su-25K, if you equip a loadout with with two R-60MKs, you will be but in a higher matchmaker but if you only equip four gunbots your br will be lower. Please let me know what you think of that
I've had this same thought before, but extended to what mods you have researched, some planes that are stock are complete crap compared to their spaded form.
I agree that the premium vehicle prices are getting out of hand. You can get the closest equivalent of a War Thunder fidelity level aircraft in DCS for $7 during sales with the FC3 modules, and the best part is you don't even have repair cost.
I think having a PvE mode for fix-winged aircraft; similar to the one that helicopters get under the "Event" tap, but in realistic, would be awesome. It would give players a place to unwind and just have fun, maybe earn a little RP and SL in the process.
After having flown nothing but props for a few weeks, I decided to go back to jets right as the sales happened. My biggest issue is just how quick matches are. Either I'm being no-scoped from across the map by uptiered jets, or my entire team is massacring the other team in 3 minutes. The game just isn't fun at high tiers.
I dont think "stretching" the matchmaker is a problem, i dont think you will run out of planes to add, Gaijin had simplified the planes since the WW2 era, there are many modifications and versions of planes to add, even you could put them in folders so dont have to unlock them but you will never run out of planes to add if you diversify the gameplay to other things instead of only PVP Dogfights
I think January, Feburary and March may be perfect for those In-game tests, where there is a smaller and more dedicated community in the game in between big updates
There was something I was thinking of a while ago that could replace the br system which is ranks. Each plane is In a rank with aircraft with similar armament and performance and they can’t face planes outside that rank so no downtiers or uptiers just planes having a chance against each other
J-7D $70 premium is the laziest copy paste in existance . The plane is 100% Chinese production but the cockpit is in Cyrilic/Russian .$70 Dollars,yet not a single content creator called Gaijin on this bullshit .
Lower numbers of players per match would not only benefit the gameplay and team play, but also decrease cueing times, as matches would be filled quicker and there would be more matches in total. This would also directly impact the chance of having BR decompression.
The mistake people are making is that they think Gaijin doesn't know about these problems. They do know about these problems, they created them on purpose to frustrate people into spending money.

The 288 never ruined any br tbh. Gaijin’s ridiculous model of 6v6 with 4 bomber slots was a ludicrous idea from the Beginning, especially because it’s ONLY for 5.0-7.0. They did that on purpose. It’s Braindead BR compression business model. Gaijin knows what’s wrong with the game. They created they problem.
hearing the map thing really made me agree. I was playing an 11.3 game on Korea and was getting spammed by Aim7Fs I used the mountains to defeat all 6 of them. It felt good being able to do that, felt like there was a degree of skill in how I was flying.
The problem with less players in top tier is the fact that even now some games end in literally 2 minutes. If we have less players, then this issue will become more prevalent. We need decompression and RB EC instead of smaller teams
Honestly, i've sort of moved to DCS for the higher end jet stuff, it fits what i'm wanting out of top tier more and more with time. The tiny maps forcing me to run right down the throat of enemies with not much room to properly manoeuver, stock MiG-23 with no flares and 2 R-60s getting shafted by AIM-7Fs and -9Ls. Lower tiers are even worse, i've been flying the F-105 recently and the number of times i've had R-60Ms fired from front aspect is actual hell. You can't do anything except die. All it would take is just some BR decompression, RB EC (as a separate event so normal people don't get angry), that's it. EC would make the stock grind easier since there is plenty of AI to hunt, aswell as much more options for multi-role than just normal Air RB. I mean, when was the last time you saw anyone take an Su-22 with Laser Guided missiles into Air RB? But yeah, i'm more or less out of higher tier WT atm, it's just not very fun anymore
I'd love DCS if it had optional mouse aim and better controls. I have a joystick (Cobra M5) and even then I find it nigh-unplayable without rudder pedals and a TrackIR. I can't even do something as simple as bind Shift and Ctrl to throttle up and down respectively as those buttons alongside Alt are reserved for modifier buttons, but I can't use the much more convenient Tab and Caps Lock as modifier buttons, and some axes practically require an actual analog device since they can't be chosen to be made relative or absolute as you're stuck with what the developers decided, where the pitch axis is relative when controlled by W and S, meaning it doesn't recenter when you let go of either key. Absolutely mental. If there's one thing WT got right it's most definitely controls.
@@NoMercyt99 It really doesn't have to be. WT Sim is perfectly playable with just a mousejoy and a keyboard because WT has genuinely fantastic, extremely flexible controls. DCS simply does not, it requires spending a shitton of money on peripherals not because they're actually needed (like a headset and a pair of motion controllers are absolutely needed in VR games) but solely because its controls aren't designed with anything else in mind.
The F-4F could carry aim-9L's not E or J's IRL, it should've gotten 9L's long ago since everyone at your br runs around with SARH's except for you But they didn't give it the 9L's because "it's performing well in it's suited br"... Yea because fucking no one plays it...
I hate the trend of adding one Vic (f84f, f16, f104) and giving them out like candy, and then the MM is mixed and it just feels like a wargaming MM where nation isn't a factor
Might as well go to dcs, I got it about 8 months ago and love it, has an amazing mission creator as well and they are working on the dogfighting ai, can be a real challenge at times not to mention all the 24/7 servers, just a better game for arial combat

3:41 idk, fighting against f16 and mig29 ever match in a 10.7 with very meh missiles, and no countermeasures feels pretty compressing. But I will admit I prefer that to the a10/a6e/su25 mess in 9.0-10.7ish
as a strictly f2p player I would be more willing to spend money on war thunder premium content if the prices were cheaper. Personally I would be more likely to give gaijin money more frequently if I saw lower prices across the board considering they are just selling pixels in a video game I think more than $50 for a single vehicle is criminal but that last part might just be me. Overall lower pricing would indeed make me more likely to spend more money. Probably just a personal thing though.
Same, and I’m no longer F2P. Once I finished grinding the Russian Air tree in update New Power, I started spending money on the game for premium time and other stuff with the only prior purchase I had being the M26 D.C. Ariete so I could unlock Italy during, iirc, Christmas 2019 because the low tiers were fun and I thought the rest of the ground TT would be too.
Regarding México as an example of wages, the peso is worth a 1/20th of a dollar approximately, and 80 pesos (4 dollars approximately) an hour is seen as a "decent salary". So that's 17.5 hours I'd need to work to buy one plane. I half agreed with $60 premiums (I purchased mine all on sale) but damn, 35 is what I'd say a screw you to the playerbase
repair costs should never exceed 10k as some way to lazily make planes unplayable so that gaijin doesnt have to actually balance the matchmaker. Its freakin obnoxious that there are vehicles that are community favorites that basically no one wants to play because you go broke simply by playing them. It's cancer.
On the topic of ground and pounding, I love how people complain about the A-10 because "they just stay on the map and ticket bleed while you are flying back to base" Its not my fault you couldnt clear the map and we all have a gentlemans agreement to fly back to base after we have all fired our missiles.
I don't think Gaijin realises that if they put the prices to a fair level, they would get so many more buyers - thus making the same profit but making the game more playable for more people. I bought 1 premium, the KA50 black shark (I like the helo IRL), and regretted it. £52 and I barely play anymore - it didn't help me with any levelling and actually cost me more silver lions to use than I was making from the matches
we also lack diversity in high tier its mostly fighters and a few strike craft sprinkled in i miss something like a b1 or b2 bomber there that would also encourage more team play like when protecting the bomber from the enemy fighters and it wouldnt be like in 80 of my games where someone flys in the mass of enemies fires 2-4 missles and leaves
The final nail in the coffin for the F-4C was the A-5C being added. 9 times out of 10 when I get shot down in the F-4C, it's because a Magic 1 got sent after me.
I haven't played War Thunder in a couple of months due to how badly it performs with out perfect internet. I know that is a me problem, but the game is still notorious for lag and ping messing up perfectly good shots. I think if they rework the code, they should try and build a less pingy one.
I find it funny how it is better to go to work and get an hourly pay and then buy the plane than to grind for it because you will spend less of your time like that event for that Po-2M
Feature creep can be a symptom imo. You know its realy fustraiting when at 10.0 with the f4c(i am the f4c) i have teammates who have 60+ flares ,all aspect 20+g missile,and better turn time while in the f4c i have aim-9e's(!) And bizmo turn time. Yeah i can bomb but when i cant drop my bomb bc i get shot down with all aspect missiles. And the su-25 is lower battlerating the the f4c
as a fellow F4C player i agree. There is also definitely a reason the F4 types with flares are a higher tier... but 0 flares and missiles only really effective within 7000 ft (5000 is approx gun range for you europoidians) at 10.0... even with godlike dogfighting ability, great speed, radar lock ability, and great acceleration/decelleration, its barely playable because the 40G missile from an Su-25T (11.0 vs a 10.0 because BR compression is great) that can hit me at 15000 ft exists.
About grind in Poland minimum salary is like 800€ and all Gaijin prices are bound to EU region so you pay 60/70€ now for top tier premiums. Compare that to the minimum salary in Germany which is like 2000€.
If you don't spend money on this game you will likely never get to top tier. That's just reality. It can take years just to get to tier 5. Every tier past 4 is exponentially harder to grind than the tier before it. By the time you get to tier 8 you're talking about near on a decade worth of grinding if you don't buy a premium.
Every vehicle BR 6.0 and above (the SU-11 at 7.0) has an incredibly strong premium that dominates its BR brackets that is payed massively. It makes those tiers just unfun to play- so I don't. I only play props now, they're more balanced and more fun. Gaijin took the fun away from jets by selling OP premiums.
You can clearly see how power creep and premium vehicles destroyed russian top tier , The mig 29 as it is ingame is pretty good but . But the problem is in Top tier Jets you have to have a good team , and russian top tier is spammed and spammed with Mig 23 ML´s and new people that have no idea what they are doing , on the other side US didnt get premium plane above 10,0 , so no new people in top tier US jets , I played russian top tier for ages , people now complain Mig 29 is not enough F14?! thats laughable when top tier was MLD vs F14 not much people said MLD is not enough , that because if you are a good pilot MLD is enough to 1v1 a f14 , and before the apex predators update F14 was the spammed plane , where poeple would buy F5c and grind straight towards F14.
6,0-6,3 Br is not really played because of Ju 288C spam , i like my french F4U corsair or the french bearcat but its not fun flying straight for 20 minutes just to catch a bomber
on the topic of your Br propsals, i think that the 262 A1A and the 262 Jabo should be brought down to 6.7, as the 262 was produced in 1944, whilst all of the american jets were made in the late 40s or early 50s.
The awacs idea is pretty interesting, you cant bomb airbases in high br airrb, they could replace it with taking out awacs/make an obj for fighters to do to reduce people who hide on the airfield wasting time
when i first saw rank 8 coming I was hoping for 12.0 or 12.3 max limit but apperently 11.7 is enough even though the J35 can now face even more aim 9Ls and the R 27ER and if they readd the R 73 it would face undodgeable missiles

I was trying to get some more jets unlocked the last few weeks and everything you have said hit every point about problems i have been dealing with mainly the SU-11, even when its on my team its not fair cause they are almost 3x as fast as other jets in 6.0 to 8.0

One is that rn, console has a lot of problems and I’m not just typing about the aiming thing. Console players have no access to a LOT of features like the market or dev server. (I think). We can’t adjust our graphics settings, the game does it automatically, and it doesn’t work at all so at top tier we have a RIDICULOUS amount of lag. And the aiming system (I lied). No matter what, console will have a disadvantage to pc when aiming, but there’s some serious problems that can still be fixed. You can’t adjust sensitivity, just just the aim acceleration, there’s not enough room for creativity on the control adjuster, and when you try to use the aim track, it zooms so far in and places the enemy at the TOP of your screen so you can’t pull lead without aiming off screen.

You've missed one major issue. The main issue war thunder has it that the Devs don't care about air RB and have no intention to make this an enjoyable game, they only care about profit
There was a time where we had Tier 1-20. Meteor mk8 was Tier 20 and the prem Typhoon 1b/L was Tier 10. But that was not fancy enough or some other gayjin bullshit...
how they should fix the 6.0-6.3 br is by moving the Ju 288 to 6.7 and placing a br lock at 6.3 so anything 6.3 and lower can’t up tier to 6.7, 7.0, 7.3.
6.7 is way too much for it fighting 7.7 jets would be death before you can do anything at 6.0 in uptiers you still see the SU-11 and other jets that just shreds you before you or your gunners can do anything
The primary thing the game actually needs is balance, The most sucky sucky tech tree IMO must be Swedish air tree. Only the earliier and the Viggems are the playable about that tree. I heard someone complain so much about the Swedish air tree in an air rb match once. They said that they needed to add the Gripen to make it playable💀
Cost of premiums adjusted for countries? LOL nope. In Poland they cost exactly the same money as in USA, while an average earnings per month are around 800USD. It's fucking bullshit to pay that much for a game. I spend a lot of money already, but I'm done. Gaijin needs to be better. Until then, no spending. I honestly hate them as a developer, they are up there with EA and Blizzard.
i propose a fix. So i found a br 10.7 that u get 9.7-10.3 games every time because of premiums but you are in a much superior plane so you just stomp the wallet warriors until they give up and its a win win because you get a shit ton of rp and sl. Current planes i recommend for that are f104s, j35D,F104J and G ,mig21 smt, mig 21mf.

100% agree. Gaijin have such a good game going but they need to fix it. I think for someone playing the game without spending any money it's FAR too grindy, puts so many players off
None of these issues will ever be fixed. Not one of them. War Thunder is a video game second and a money machine first. As a money machine, it is functioning very well. When the money machine is printing money real real good, you don't open the machine with a wrench to tinker and fix things. Nothing is broken. Nothing will change until their stock loses at least 20% of it's value.
I went over to dcs to enjoy the bf109k4 because i just couldn’t in wt its either i get up tiered and face jets that can out perform it or im facing a whole team of f2gs
my main issue with game is BR compression but what kills me is my device, intel uhd graphics isnt great and it barely renders vehicles so its hard to even do cas edit: also they need a new heli mode, maps are too big and need more rewards

I’d love to see bigger maps with modern runways, but multiple runways per team. At the start, players could spawn at random on these runways and patrol. New AI types would spawn such as AWACS or Cargo planes that would have to be escorted or eliminated, having an effect on things like spotting range, radar sensitivity, and repair time on the runway. This would not only encourage team play, but also diversify gameplay and make it possible to play in your own style

@@G-_Money The Su-25 players would be able to ground pound to their heart’s content, with the only dangers being the AI SPAA getting lucky and killing them before they get close enough, but Gaijin decreased the chances of that happening even in current EC maps in the RB matchmaker.
So basically a “simcade” mode, because simulator battles are somewhat similar to what you’re describing.

the Ju288 has created its own biosphere due to features (2×1800kg, air spawn, mg151 tail gun) but Gaijin insists on 4 bombers and 2 fighters teams as some sort if balance. This then faces teams of 6 fighters or me in an A26c and 5 attackers (Gaijin wants me to suffer to win). I no longer see the Ju288 as a guaranteed win but it's a guaranteed big earn before you die.
I hate those things on my team because they rush bases with their speed and then the rest of us in non premium bombers get shredded on the way to the airfield.
Ju288 land is where I go if I want to farm ground targets it have fun clapping German players.
i think Gaijin took a look at how DCS goes with the Modules for the pricing, they do sell Full fidelity modules for 70-80$.

Yeah except DCS's modules are very high quality, and can contain multiple planes (iirc the Mirage F1 module will receive more variants later down the track) whereas gaijin is just copy paste

Like almost all flight-sim combat oriented games, they desperately need dynamic game modes, and fluidty.
The spitfire griffon is at 7.0 the same BR as a f-84.
One of the issues is that the BR system was not designed with missile tech in mind. The AIM-9B was introduced in the late 50’s and the and Lima in the late 70’s. These are completely different systems. This would be like justifying placing the P-51C and the P-51H in the same BR bracket because they have the same letter and numbers in the front.
I’m in agreement about needing fewer player in each match at top tier for the smaller maps. In regards to RP, it winds up exactly the same because RP is almost entirely based on how long you’re alive. I think 6 people would be the sweet spot, but 8 would make more sense because of squad sizes.
8:34 Another major issue is the Ju288. I like the design of the He162, it's such a weird plane but it's neat. Too bad when you wanna fly it you either get uptiered to everything that can murder you, or you're in a 5v5 match with you, and 4 Ju288's vs 4-5 enemy fighters who also all equally outperform you.
This comment is going to be a big one so get ready but I know I’m not alone on this. Bombers need a rework. First thing we need to establish is more bombs to destroy a base.
What will this accomplish? A few things, and if you know anything else comment it, strike aircraft such as su-25, su-7, a-10, and so on, will disappear from air rb. Obviously not completely because there’s more targets than just the bases. The idea of this is to add strategic bombers and stealth bombers.
Let’s establish another thing, “Strategic bombers” as a title. You’ll notice that planes such as the B-29 or TU-4 have the title “Long range bomber” there is no aircraft in the game that has the title of “Strategic bomber” at least to my knowledge. What I’m suggesting is any plane added with said title or similar, and has a carrying capacity of over 25k pounds should be given a spawn height like no other.
I don’t see planes like the B-52 or B-1 ruining tank rb. They’ll likely cost as much as a nuke with that kind of carrying capacity.
I also believe more forms of countermeasures should come to the game such as ECM. This would greatly enhance the survivability of said aircraft.
Gotta say I disagree with the proposed spotting distance on EC. It might work as a band-aid solution but imo doesn't work in the long run. Maybe we can see something like 3 point checkpoint capture like in GRB to nudge players flying in a few groups?
We really need a separate Air RB EC mode with respawns and then normal air rb at top tier should be 7 vs 7. 12 vs 12 is way too crowded for those small maps at top tier.
@J Wilt nah I say they keep the current random battle game mode for the ADHD zoomers that currently enjoy it and create a RBEC mode for everyone else. Otherwise the people who turn current air rb into a complete clusterfuck furball would do the same in ec.

I think Gaijin's problem is that every patch they need to add more and more new stuff and the more powerful the better all the while not increasing the BRs accordingly. New features should equal new battle ratings to fit those new features
Adding cannons to an F-4u punted it 2 BR's above it's 50 cal predecessor, a 2 BR jump at the top end gets you from a MiG-21C/F-104A to a MiG-29/F-16... the BR system is a broken joke.

The biggest issue with the pricing of the premiums is they bundle shit into the packs just so you have to pay more by artificially inflating the price. (Notice how the $70 packs have more premium time and more GE than the $60 packs).
So its blatantly you're not paying the extra for the higher rank plane, you're paying for the extra shite they force onto you. There should be an option to just buy the planes without the added items.

We NEED air RB enduring confrontation at top/high tier. The small team deathmatch arenas just don't fit their playstyle at all. Because of how the game modes work all planes at high tier have to be balanced based off of their air to air capability. This is why things like the A-10 and Su-25 are such a low BR because if they were higher then they would literally be useless. If ground attack was actually viable like it is/was in EC then these niche aircraft would not have to be so under tiered and could actually share top tier BRs and still be very useful and fun to play since they could actually stretch their legs and be used how they are supposed to. A dedicated ground attack aircraft should never be the best air to air fighter in its BR, its just silly. But because air to air capability is the only thing that matters in WT air RB, they get massively under tired.
I should also mention that if EC was made the main game mode then not only could alot of BRs be adjusted but more playstyles would be viable and enjoyable which means more people would play this part of the game, reducing queue times and making the grind not seem nearly as bad. Its always strange to me how in depth a lot of the mechanics and features of many vehicles can be but are absolutely useless or pointless because the game modes encourage really quick close quarters battles with very little use of strategy, and that applies to both air and ground battles.
I know Gaijin wants the players to be frustrated to encourage sales, but if you reduce the overall player base by ruining your own game then they will never buy anything nor would they ever recommend new players join the game. If people genuinely enjoyed playing then there would be more old and new players actually playing and potentially buying stuff. The only reason Gaijin actually try to improve the game is because there are still people who are buying their stuff. But eventually, Gaijin will push all their players away or they will run out of new shinnies to keep adding. They are selling out the games potential for further long term-success in return for large short term profits based off of crappy/predatory business practices.
i just finished a game of 9.7 br with my tech tree t72's and spotted a lvl 5 turms with 40 minutes of total play time
A idea I had regarding planes like the Su-25K with missiles that are way better than there flightperformance, that the secondary weapons loadout you have equipped in the hangar can change your br. For example with the Su-25K, if you equip a loadout with with two R-60MKs, you will be but in a higher matchmaker but if you only equip four gunbots your br will be lower. Please let me know what you think of that
I've had this same thought before, but extended to what mods you have researched, some planes that are stock are complete crap compared to their spaded form.

I agree that the premium vehicle prices are getting out of hand. You can get the closest equivalent of a War Thunder fidelity level aircraft in DCS for $7 during sales with the FC3 modules, and the best part is you don't even have repair cost.
I think having a PvE mode for fix-winged aircraft; similar to the one that helicopters get under the "Event" tap, but in realistic, would be awesome. It would give players a place to unwind and just have fun, maybe earn a little RP and SL in the process.
After having flown nothing but props for a few weeks, I decided to go back to jets right as the sales happened. My biggest issue is just how quick matches are. Either I'm being no-scoped from across the map by uptiered jets, or my entire team is massacring the other team in 3 minutes. The game just isn't fun at high tiers.
I dont think "stretching" the matchmaker is a problem, i dont think you will run out of planes to add, Gaijin had simplified the planes since the WW2 era, there are many modifications and versions of planes to add, even you could put them in folders so dont have to unlock them but you will never run out of planes to add if you diversify the gameplay to other things instead of only PVP Dogfights
I think January, Feburary and March may be perfect for those In-game tests, where there is a smaller and more dedicated community in the game in between big updates
There was something I was thinking of a while ago that could replace the br system which is ranks. Each plane is In a rank with aircraft with similar armament and performance and they can’t face planes outside that rank so no downtiers or uptiers just planes having a chance against each other

J-7D $70 premium is the laziest copy paste in existance . The plane is 100% Chinese production but the cockpit is in Cyrilic/Russian .$70 Dollars,yet not a single content creator called Gaijin on this bullshit .
Lower numbers of players per match would not only benefit the gameplay and team play, but also decrease cueing times, as matches would be filled quicker and there would be more matches in total. This would also directly impact the chance of having BR decompression.
The mistake people are making is that they think Gaijin doesn't know about these problems.
They do know about these problems, they created them on purpose to frustrate people into spending money.

hearing the map thing really made me agree. I was playing an 11.3 game on Korea and was getting spammed by Aim7Fs I used the mountains to defeat all 6 of them. It felt good being able to do that, felt like there was a degree of skill in how I was flying.
The problem with less players in top tier is the fact that even now some games end in literally 2 minutes. If we have less players, then this issue will become more prevalent. We need decompression and RB EC instead of smaller teams

Honestly, i've sort of moved to DCS for the higher end jet stuff, it fits what i'm wanting out of top tier more and more with time. The tiny maps forcing me to run right down the throat of enemies with not much room to properly manoeuver, stock MiG-23 with no flares and 2 R-60s getting shafted by AIM-7Fs and -9Ls. Lower tiers are even worse, i've been flying the F-105 recently and the number of times i've had R-60Ms fired from front aspect is actual hell. You can't do anything except die.
All it would take is just some BR decompression, RB EC (as a separate event so normal people don't get angry), that's it. EC would make the stock grind easier since there is plenty of AI to hunt, aswell as much more options for multi-role than just normal Air RB. I mean, when was the last time you saw anyone take an Su-22 with Laser Guided missiles into Air RB?
But yeah, i'm more or less out of higher tier WT atm, it's just not very fun anymore

I'd love DCS if it had optional mouse aim and better controls. I have a joystick (Cobra M5) and even then I find it nigh-unplayable without rudder pedals and a TrackIR. I can't even do something as simple as bind Shift and Ctrl to throttle up and down respectively as those buttons alongside Alt are reserved for modifier buttons, but I can't use the much more convenient Tab and Caps Lock as modifier buttons, and some axes practically require an actual analog device since they can't be chosen to be made relative or absolute as you're stuck with what the developers decided, where the pitch axis is relative when controlled by W and S, meaning it doesn't recenter when you let go of either key. Absolutely mental.
If there's one thing WT got right it's most definitely controls.

DCS simply does not, it requires spending a shitton of money on peripherals not because they're actually needed (like a headset and a pair of motion controllers are absolutely needed in VR games) but solely because its controls aren't designed with anything else in mind.

as a strictly f2p player I would be more willing to spend money on war thunder premium content if the prices were cheaper. Personally I would be more likely to give gaijin money more frequently if I saw lower prices across the board considering they are just selling pixels in a video game I think more than $50 for a single vehicle is criminal but that last part might just be me. Overall lower pricing would indeed make me more likely to spend more money. Probably just a personal thing though.

Once I finished grinding the Russian Air tree in update New Power, I started spending money on the game for premium time and other stuff with the only prior purchase I had being the M26 D.C. Ariete so I could unlock Italy during, iirc, Christmas 2019 because the low tiers were fun and I thought the rest of the ground TT would be too.

Regarding México as an example of wages, the peso is worth a 1/20th of a dollar approximately, and 80 pesos (4 dollars approximately) an hour is seen as a "decent salary". On the topic of ground and pounding, I love how people complain about the A-10 because "they just stay on the map and ticket bleed while you are flying back to base" Its not my fault you couldnt clear the map and we all have a gentlemans agreement to fly back to base after we have all fired our missiles.
I don't think Gaijin realises that if they put the prices to a fair level, they would get so many more buyers - thus making the same profit but making the game more playable for more people. I bought 1 premium, the KA50 black shark (I like the helo IRL), and regretted it. £52 and I barely play anymore - it didn't help me with any levelling and actually cost me more silver lions to use than I was making from the matches
we also lack diversity in high tier its mostly fighters and a few strike craft sprinkled in i miss something like a b1 or b2 bomber there that would also encourage more team play like when protecting the bomber from the enemy fighters and it wouldnt be like in 80 of my games where someone flys in the mass of enemies fires 2-4 missles and leaves

The final nail in the coffin for the F-4C was the A-5C being added. 9 times out of 10 when I get shot down in the F-4C, it's because a Magic 1 got sent after me.
I haven't played War Thunder in a couple of months due to how badly it performs with out perfect internet. I know that is a me problem, but the game is still notorious for lag and ping messing up perfectly good shots. I think if they rework the code, they should try and build a less pingy one.
I find it funny how it is better to go to work and get an hourly pay and then buy the plane than to grind for it because you will spend less of your time like that event for that Po-2M

You know its realy fustraiting when at 10.0 with the f4c(i am the f4c) i have teammates who have 60+ flares ,all aspect 20+g missile,and better turn time while in the f4c i have aim-9e's(!) And bizmo turn time. Yeah i can bomb but when i cant drop my bomb bc i get shot down with all aspect missiles. And the su-25 is lower battlerating the the f4c

as a fellow F4C player i agree. There is also definitely a reason the F4 types with flares are a higher tier... but 0 flares and missiles only really effective within 7000 ft (5000 is approx gun range for you europoidians) at 10.0... even with godlike dogfighting ability, great speed, radar lock ability, and great acceleration/decelleration, its barely playable because the 40G missile from an Su-25T (11.0 vs a 10.0 because BR compression is great) that can hit me at 15000 ft exists.
About grind in Poland minimum salary is like 800€ and all Gaijin prices are bound to EU region so you pay 60/70€ now for top tier premiums. Compare that to the minimum salary in Germany which is like 2000€.

If you don't spend money on this game you will likely never get to top tier. That's just reality. It can take years just to get to tier 5. Every tier past 4 is exponentially harder to grind than the tier before it. By the time you get to tier 8 you're talking about near on a decade worth of grinding if you don't buy a premium.
Every vehicle BR 6.0 and above (the SU-11 at 7.0) has an incredibly strong premium that dominates its BR brackets that is payed massively.
It makes those tiers just unfun to play- so I don't.
I only play props now, they're more balanced and more fun.
Gaijin took the fun away from jets by selling OP premiums.

But the problem is in Top tier Jets you have to have a good team , and russian top tier is spammed and spammed with Mig 23 ML´s and new people that have no idea what they are doing , on the other side US didnt get premium plane above 10,0 , so no new people in top tier US jets , I played russian top tier for ages , people now complain Mig 29 is not enough F14?! thats laughable when top tier was MLD vs F14 not much people said MLD is not enough , that because if you are a good pilot MLD is enough to 1v1 a f14 , and before the apex predators update F14 was the spammed plane , where poeple would buy F5c and grind straight towards F14.

on the topic of your Br propsals, i think that the 262 A1A and the 262 Jabo should be brought down to 6.7, as the 262 was produced in 1944, whilst all of the american jets were made in the late 40s or early 50s.
The awacs idea is pretty interesting, you cant bomb airbases in high br airrb, they could replace it with taking out awacs/make an obj for fighters to do to reduce people who hide on the airfield wasting time

I was trying to get some more jets unlocked the last few weeks and everything you have said hit every point about problems i have been dealing with mainly the SU-11, even when its on my team its not fair cause they are almost 3x as fast as other jets in 6.0 to 8.0

One is that rn, console has a lot of problems and I’m not just typing about the aiming thing. Console players have no access to a LOT of features like the market or dev server. (I think). We can’t adjust our graphics settings, the game does it automatically, and it doesn’t work at all so at top tier we have a RIDICULOUS amount of lag.
And the aiming system (I lied). No matter what, console will have a disadvantage to pc when aiming, but there’s some serious problems that can still be fixed. You can’t adjust sensitivity, just just the aim acceleration, there’s not enough room for creativity on the control adjuster, and when you try to use the aim track, it zooms so far in and places the enemy at the TOP of your screen so you can’t pull lead without aiming off screen.

6.7 is way too much for it fighting 7.7 jets would be death before you can do anything at 6.0 in uptiers you still see the SU-11 and other jets that just shreds you before you or your gunners can do anything
The primary thing the game actually needs is balance, The most sucky sucky tech tree IMO must be Swedish air tree. Only the earliier and the Viggems are the playable about that tree. I heard someone complain so much about the Swedish air tree in an air rb match once. They said that they needed to add the Gripen to make it playable💀
Cost of premiums adjusted for countries? LOL nope. In Poland they cost exactly the same money as in USA, while an average earnings per month are around 800USD. It's fucking bullshit to pay that much for a game. I spend a lot of money already, but I'm done. Gaijin needs to be better. Until then, no spending. I honestly hate them as a developer, they are up there with EA and Blizzard.
i propose a fix. So i found a br 10.7 that u get 9.7-10.3 games every time because of premiums but you are in a much superior plane so you just stomp the wallet warriors until they give up and its a win win because you get a shit ton of rp and sl. Current planes i recommend for that are f104s, j35D,F104J and G ,mig21 smt, mig 21mf.
I'd rather have copy paste expensive premiums, I can talisman the planes I wanna grind with, having an awesome plane behind a 70 dollars paywall is annoying
100% agree. Gaijin have such a good game going but they need to fix it. I think for someone playing the game without spending any money it's FAR too grindy, puts so many players off

War Thunder is a video game second and a money machine first.
As a money machine, it is functioning very well. When the money machine is printing money real real good, you don't open the machine with a wrench to tinker and fix things. Nothing is broken.

4090 makes sense for video editing tho which is its primary function. I also play other games in my spare time

my main issue with game is BR compression but what kills me is my device, intel uhd graphics isnt great and it barely renders vehicles so its hard to even do cas
