These “top tier” videos are 11.0+ fighters. Anything lower can regularly fight in the 9.0 bracket and that gameplay is drastically different and is not top tier at all.
The single saving grace of the Kfir C.2 is that it can get Python 3s in the future. Obviously it wouldn't quite fix the issue as the aircraft can still only carry 2 missiles, but having the 2 missiles be that potent will at least give it something to work with.
@@xavsul9108 Practically speaking the C7 is just a C2 but (slightly) better in every way shape and form, so yeah. For if it is actually a good plane, no. Its basically the same experience you get playing the C2, but you have a slightly better chance to kill someone not paying attention. Imagine a Mirage 2000, strip away everything good about the M2k except the speed and turn performance, and you get the Kfirs. I still love them though

Sabre vs mig15 vas the peak definitely. Mig17 and hunter added some new elements to that eternal war, so they were welcome, but this missile slinging bullshit made the playerbase much less skilled all over., Not to even mention the toptier premiums

But, top tier between 9.3-11.3 is on a rolling br system throughout the week so you can still enjoy sabre vs mig, just 2x a week instead of any day now.

I used it all the time with a talisman to grind out the phantom line, it can carry so many bombs and then fall back on the missiles which would always score me a kill or two, you can usually get the jump on people coming off a base. Doesnt always happen, though. I didnt know the AIM-9G stayed on screen longer like that, that's a cool fact!
what I don't get is that they dropped the mirage 3's down to 10.3 as they underperformed but then left the j35d, that has less missiles, at 10.7. It makes no sense.

@@jaek_898 u want to know funny thing? there ain't much 9.3 planes (few f100, 21f13, j7II, cl13b, 2x lansen, j34, EEL) and most of the time they fight in much more populated 8.0-9.0 or 9.7. Also 21MF and 21SMT or F5C that are better in most fields are 10.3. So yeah Draken does have bussines at 10.3.
The only reason DEFAs/ADENs are bad is because there's a bug with them that causes their HE rounds to do basically zero AOE damage to surrounding components, even Russian 20mms do more. You can test it in the hangar Connecting a 30mm HE round should be basically game-over for most targets but Gaijinn has ignored this issue for over a year
WT always had the most random and inane errors/bugs with air cannon ammo. For a long time Hispanos were underperforming because their SAP-HE rounds had a fuse ten times too long (probably due to a typo) meaning it just acted like solid AP instead of actually blowing up within the target airframe
They further buffed the agile eagle flight model. Try playing the F-4F and F-4E like an F-5 and it is very effective. It can now hang with the F-5 in a dogfight especially if you use the vertical.
As someone who just spaded the F-4EJ 2 weeks ago, it was a nightmare to do. It’s decent at altitude, but the Aim-7Es aren’t that good, and the radar sucks. The aim-9ps also are really only good in top-down scenarios. It was not a fun time. Now the EJ Kai with Aim-7Fs and a PD radar is wonderful and usually guarantees 4 kills.
Still gotta use the same things you learn with the EJ when you use the Kai. The 7Fs are chonky weights and getting caught in any defensive scenario usually means youre going to be dead
Yeah, 7F's and PD radar are going to be insane on any aircraft. Not as much of a monopoly as they once had, with the Mig 29 and R27 ER's, but still atleast 1 kill per game, and 3-4 on a good game.
Man the best time of War Thunder was when the MiG-19 and F-100 just came out. The peak of jets, missiles were in their infancy, and they were perfect matches for jets.
They need to decompress alot more so that people who like their gun jets with early missile can get that but not have to deal with all aspect IR's in an uptier (fuck the Su-25, all my homies hate the Su-25). I like top tier warthunder and I think there is some skill their with positioning, missile dodging and the occasional dogfight, however I understand that alot of people prefer jet dogfights.
I used the Kfir C2 to grind basically half the Israeli tree and then used the mirage and C7 for the rest. The 2 missiles of the c2 were quite lackluster but the flight performance really helped. Ur faster than most on the deck and if u drag ur enemies to a secluded location, you can dump all your energy in a 1 circle fight and you have about 2 good turns to get guns on. Its a weird plane and takes a ton of discipline. U either have to play it fast and super passive or dump ur energy and be super aggressive and you need to know when exactly u need to be either. Once u get used to the kfir, its a pretty fun plane.
Step below mid would be dogwater I think that’s the word you’re looking for. Also kill at 9:25 me personally idk if a mid missile could do that but just my opinion.

Hey, besides the run-of-the-mill top5 videos you should try going in-depth on either your top performing statistically or personally. I've noticed over the years playing I do stuff with my favorite aircraft that others don't. Some of it good and some not so much, but all teachable moments nonetheless. I feel like the list videos do so well because new players are always joining and they are more likely to watch the more recent video giving info on a plane they're aiming for or a plane they currently have. Anyway, good luck with your channel, and like me your severe War Thunder addiction.
The C.2 being where it is is completely right even though I like the plane. It was fun for exactly one week before the F-14 came into the game. My C.2 has since been relegated to the "planes I basically only use in customs" list.
I own the F-4EJ and it gets Aim 9Ps if I remember correctly which are nice cause they work with radar but since the radar only works at like 1.5km - 2km on the deck and since it picks up lots of ground clutter forget trying to use it if your radar is pointed down.. You can get lucky with the Aim 7Fs if someone isn’t paying attention or doesn’t have an RWR.
I kinda like the Mirage 2000’s DEFA 554s. The rate of fire is better but not like the water pistol losing you a lot of trigger time, and it seems that the damage is also somehow improved. Muzzle velocity still kinda sucks though.
5:35 at least on the f4e, if you are flying at roughly 1000kph or higher putting out combat flaps lets you do some crazy lack of energy loss sustained turns. assuming its the same for the f4f as its also agile eagle.
The only good thing about the C.2 is the payload, it has a lot of bombs and rockets. But since this jet came, my opinion is the same. It should be 10.7.
personally I like defas very much, i used them mainly to destroy heavy & medium tanks and pillboxes I got very used to those cannons simply because i like ground pounding in jets who has defas
Good day, while I don't watch your content often you do make a good point in that the ROCAF F-5A probably should receive a lower BR as currently with a legacy BR an mere AIM-9P's doesn't quite make it an 11.0 as well they're on a 10.0 platform (A-5C) and 9.7+ is filled with superior missile types, As such hopefully soon the devs drop it's BR to a respectable BR maybe 10.7 or at the max 10.3. Still from a personal opinion top tier as people call it isn't purely 11.0+ but starts with the 10.3/.7 BR's and range to 11.0/.3 as 90% of my flyouts at 10.3+ is 11.3 battles. But you're right with the introduction of the tomcats it's increasingly harder to field aircraft that rely on their fixed weaponry especially if they have a limited amount of shells essentially everything not NATO (bar aircraft with DEFA autocannons), But if you got cannon pods dogfights can get spicy without those tomcats in battle but that's extremely rare. Still looking at this video it seem to have mostly talked on missile weaponry as if you were to talk on guns the Mirage F1CT would probably be closer to the worse due to having one less cannon then say the F1C an the rest on the list having two or an M61. Yet as you said this list is personal opinion based I cannot really disagree with your thoughts. Anyway I probably would've put the F-104S in this list if you had counted the 10.7's as that thing like most Starfighter is hard to play but having no C/M's while facing 11.3 just absolutely sucks.
Flip around the positions of the F-4F and the F-4EJ and I'd completely agree. As far as my playstyle goes, while I value Agile Eagle a good bit, I value higher kill potential more. While the Aim-7E's may not be great as far as Fox-1's go, it's still something that can at least force your opponents to defend, if not still kill them. While the Japanese F-4's may not have Agile Eagle, they aren't exactly slouches for maneuverability since while they have less instant turn potential, they will stay in their optimal speed range for a few seconds longer. Managed to pull some crazy shit in my EJ Kai, but I wouldn't go to any length to say the standard EJ is good...
The Mirage F1's engine is bugged, you can supercruise for some goddamn reason, but it doesn't actually help it in any way (it doesn't help you get away in a pinch, since you accelerate so slowly)
the F-4F should just receive the AIM-9L's it carried IRL. It would make up for its limit of four missiles and complete lack of SARH missiles, even if it means a bump up to 11.3

I’m surprised the MiG-23M/MF didn’t feature They were atrocious on release, and their effectiveness is limited due to flares as their best missile/ are the R-23T and the R-60M/MK. They are good rate fighters but they need their sweet time to decelerate to optimal speeds, speaking of which they rip their wings a lot and only have 12 flares.

Me-263 squad jet ....hella slow ...but it does have a good gun so I suppose if you had good coverage you could pound ground targets or bombers while everyone else dogfights with the agile fighters.
Still weird how the F5E is 11.0 , 2 IR AIM9 with mid performance vs a BR filled with radar guided missiles with tons of ammunition vs gun focused dog fighter feels weird. Really would like to see it drop to 10.7 at the minimum so it wont have to take on Mig-29s and F16s.
Both Kfirs are overtired and in a dire need of Python 3s. I have no idea how Gaijin isn't giving them their historicly accurate missiles seeing how mid the Harrier GR.7 is with 4xAIM-9Ls.
I played the F-5A (USA) alot while grinding for the F-5E and in my expierience at top tier the change to gameplay is only having to dodge pheonixes, PD missiles and all aspect IR missiles. While it certainly wasn't enjoyable to have poor missiles and not super good engines the F-5A can still use guns when the early missile fight slows down to allow for some dogfighting. The only limitation the F-5's overall are the two missiles and the slower speed, so if the F-5A got better missiles I'd believe it to be a better jet than second worst, just my opinion, of course i can't reliably uptier the F-5A besides playing the E with worse missiles and upgrades taken off

MiG23MFcan be fun but it’s not particularly great, mainly bc it has 12 countermeasures. not too many great marketplace jets, the premiums aren’t fantastic either really but u don’t get a choice. F5C is probably as good as it gets
While the f4EJ is not that good on its own it has some kind of cursed power that made me face 9.3/9.7 in that plane like 3/5 times when i played and on that br you can guess what happends.
F4C is the worst phantom missles are okay but they arent compatible with its radar it has a external 20 mil and it burns fuel quickly not only that its heavy and slow not only that it faces 11.0 with no chaff.

There's a load of really 'bad' jets out there, F1C included but it's more a BR issue than bad aircraft. As some aircraft would be pretty good but are made fairly useless due to Gaijin's 'useless' and inappropriate BR methodology. [Going off topic slightly] As mentiond I'd agree with the F1 at top tier, but for me, most 'bad jets' are at slightly lower BR's like the Hunter F6, a great plane at the wrong BR ...pretty much a sitting duck (I know it has great, albeit short range missiles but you have to wait for others to make mistakes to use them ...and that's normally too late). Virtually all jet bombers (Vautour, IL28, Canberra, Buccaneer etc), you can sometimes earn a bit of SL but more often than not, you end up mixing it with more agile supersonic missile armed fighters. The Venom spoilt by a dumb BR rating. All really could do with a .3 BR reduction.
I think the F104j is worse then the F4ej tbh. the f-104j has no flares, is not as fast as the s model, has 4 aim9Ps at 10.7 and is not able to manouver that well. Where as the ej is lighter then the F4e and can out dogfight it in a rate fight.
Tbh F-4F Phantom only hits her highest peak around 1990-2011... I mean the F-4F(ICE) is basically Germany's F/A-18, cuz it has AIM-9L, AIM-120 AMRAAM and APG-65 radar. 🤔
F2H banshee should be 7.7 coz the guns are shotguns, the stock flight preformance is worse than a super prop and at 8.2 it gets nailed by missiles in an uptier

The missile marker shows for as long as the motor is burning, so if a missile has a long burn time, the marker stays on screen long as well.

Same issue happen to all 30mm cannons for some reason. 37 and 23 are much more stable in terms of damage.

Good day, while I don't watch your content often you do make a good point in that the ROCAF F-5A probably should receive a lower BR as currently with a legacy BR an mere AIM-9P's doesn't quite make it an 11.0 as well they're on a 10.0 platform (A-5C) and 9.7+ is filled with superior missile types, As such hopefully soon the devs drop it's BR to a respectable BR maybe 10.7 or at the max 10.3.
Still from a personal opinion top tier as people call it isn't purely 11.0+ but starts with the 10.3/.7 BR's and range to 11.0/.3 as 90% of my flyouts at 10.3+ is 11.3 battles.
But you're right with the introduction of the tomcats it's increasingly harder to field aircraft that rely on their fixed weaponry especially if they have a limited amount of shells essentially everything not NATO (bar aircraft with DEFA autocannons), But if you got cannon pods dogfights can get spicy without those tomcats in battle but that's extremely rare.
Still looking at this video it seem to have mostly talked on missile weaponry as if you were to talk on guns the Mirage F1CT would probably be closer to the worse due to having one less cannon then say the F1C an the rest on the list having two or an M61.
Yet as you said this list is personal opinion based I cannot really disagree with your thoughts.
Anyway I probably would've put the F-104S in this list if you had counted the 10.7's as that thing like most Starfighter is hard to play but having no C/M's while facing 11.3 just absolutely sucks.
Also the su22-m3 is at 11.0 and with only six R60 and only 12 countermeasures and bad maneuverability and no radar missiles is just outrageous.

The F 4 F is my favorite top tier. you have to play it differently then the other fighters and with the two external vulcans its great in head on.

Flip around the positions of the F-4F and the F-4EJ and I'd completely agree. As far as my playstyle goes, while I value Agile Eagle a good bit, I value higher kill potential more. While the Aim-7E's may not be great as far as Fox-1's go, it's still something that can at least force your opponents to defend, if not still kill them. While the Japanese F-4's may not have Agile Eagle, they aren't exactly slouches for maneuverability since while they have less instant turn potential, they will stay in their optimal speed range for a few seconds longer. Managed to pull some crazy shit in my EJ Kai, but I wouldn't go to any length to say the standard EJ is good...
The Mirage F1's engine is bugged, you can supercruise for some goddamn reason, but it doesn't actually help it in any way (it doesn't help you get away in a pinch, since you accelerate so slowly)
the F-4F should just receive the AIM-9L's it carried IRL. It would make up for its limit of four missiles and complete lack of SARH missiles, even if it means a bump up to 11.3
I actually have had a great amount of luck with the DEFAs in head on passes.

I’m surprised the MiG-23M/MF didn’t feature
They were atrocious on release, and their effectiveness is limited due to flares as their best missile/ are the R-23T and the R-60M/MK. They are good rate fighters but they need their sweet time to decelerate to optimal speeds, speaking of which they rip their wings a lot and only have 12 flares.
Man good thing I watched this video I’m still in early WWII era so I’m close to getting jet powered planes but this made me realize I should stay on the path of the F-14

Me-263 squad jet ....hella slow ...but it does have a good gun so I suppose if you had good coverage you could pound ground targets or bombers while everyone else dogfights with the agile fighters.
My one single biggest regret in my time playing this game is using my Kfir C.2 coupon, I played it like 4 times and never again

Still weird how the F5E is 11.0 , 2 IR AIM9 with mid performance vs a BR filled with radar guided missiles with tons of ammunition vs gun focused dog fighter feels weird. Really would like to see it drop to 10.7 at the minimum so it wont have to take on Mig-29s and F16s.
Both Kfirs are overtired and in a dire need of Python 3s. I have no idea how Gaijin isn't giving them their historicly accurate missiles seeing how mid the Harrier GR.7 is with 4xAIM-9Ls.
I played the F-5A (USA) alot while grinding for the F-5E and in my expierience at top tier the change to gameplay is only having to dodge pheonixes, PD missiles and all aspect IR missiles. While it certainly wasn't enjoyable to have poor missiles and not super good engines the F-5A can still use guns when the early missile fight slows down to allow for some dogfighting. The only limitation the F-5's overall are the two missiles and the slower speed, so if the F-5A got better missiles I'd believe it to be a better jet than second worst, just my opinion, of course i can't reliably uptier the F-5A besides playing the E with worse missiles and upgrades taken off

MiG23MFcan be fun but it’s not particularly great, mainly bc it has 12 countermeasures. not too many great marketplace jets, the premiums aren’t fantastic either really but u don’t get a choice. F5C is probably as good as it gets
While the f4EJ is not that good on its own it has some kind of cursed power that made me face 9.3/9.7 in that plane like 3/5 times when i played and on that br you can guess what happends.

F4C is the worst phantom missles are okay but they arent compatible with its radar it has a external 20 mil and it burns fuel quickly not only that its heavy and slow not only that it faces 11.0 with no chaff.

Why does everyone seem to try(and succeed) to dodge IR missiles with full afterburner?
There's a load of really 'bad' jets out there, F1C included but it's more a BR issue than bad aircraft. As some aircraft would be pretty good but are made fairly useless due to Gaijin's 'useless' and inappropriate BR methodology.
[Going off topic slightly] As mentiond I'd agree with the F1 at top tier, but for me, most 'bad jets' are at slightly lower BR's like the Hunter F6, a great plane at the wrong BR ...pretty much a sitting duck (I know it has great, albeit short range missiles but you have to wait for others to make mistakes to use them ...and that's normally too late). Virtually all jet bombers (Vautour, IL28, Canberra, Buccaneer etc), you can sometimes earn a bit of SL but more often than not, you end up mixing it with more agile supersonic missile armed fighters. The Venom spoilt by a dumb BR rating. All really could do with a .3 BR reduction.

I think the F104j is worse then the F4ej tbh. the f-104j has no flares, is not as fast as the s model, has 4 aim9Ps at 10.7 and is not able to manouver that well. Where as the ej is lighter then the F4e and can out dogfight it in a rate fight.
Tbh F-4F Phantom only hits her highest peak around 1990-2011... I mean the F-4F(ICE) is basically Germany's F/A-18, cuz it has AIM-9L, AIM-120 AMRAAM and APG-65 radar. 🤔

Wait u til you find out about the harrier hr.1 I have a 0.6kd with it because it’s slow, can’t turn and has 0 flares so the second you get into a dogfight you are dead. Only thing it is good for is diving down on people from 7 high and bombing bases…
