      @ABEY M A Humans descend from the First Men who came from Essos by walking across the Arm of Dorne, a land bridge that connected the two continents. The Arm of Dorne was then supposedly broken by the Children of The Forest with blood magic in an attempt to stop the First Men from crossing, thus becoming the Stepstones (which appear in House of the Dragon, it's where the Crabfeeder was living)

    You can't just "train" dragons. They don't submit so easily. A dragon only fully obeys its owner when it is ridden. Do you remember the phrase "a dragon is not a slave?
    Daenerys grew up on the run, she didn't have the training that other Targaryens had, she knows almost nothing about dragons, in fact she even handles them well, even if she doesn't.

    Dragons can't be trained like that. They are beasts. They will burn and eat. What Dany did was necessary for the time being, even though we all hate it. If your child was out there killing people, you'd ground him too. Actually I hope you do a lot more than that but yeah that's the point. Be a little easy on her, also with the political stuff too. It's not like she had great training in politics. She grew up with absolutely nothing and managed to come this far with sheer will, determination, and a few people that were loyal to her. She's trying to rule Mereen with the help of her advisors because she wants to learn to rule properly when she gets to Westeros.

Them and the giants were the original inhabitants of Westeros until the First Men migrated from Essos and conquered it. The children and giants died out south of the wall. I think Daenerys' storyline shows us how difficult is to rule. You can't always please all the people and sometimes you have to make difficult choices. Plus she's just a teenage girl in a foreign land with queer customs who tries to dismantle a system heavily focused on slavery that's been around for ages, so she will obviously have a tough time dealing with that. Also, everything she knows about dragons is from her idiot brother Viserys, so that doesn't really help her dealing with her rebellious teenage dragons.

I mentioned this back Season 1 about how much Jamie loves his little brother and you really see that in their farewell scene. Also I agreed with you on locking up the 2 dragons. That’s why they gave him the infected bite. Brienne doesn’t really stand a chance against a healthy Hound. Even people end up dying for someone they’re loyal too, doesn’t make them less smarter, just not as keen on survival alone. 49:01 That face you make when you spend every waking moment of your life carefully reestablishing your family's standing in the realm, and forging it into an economic and political powerhouse, after the disastrous missteps of your father nearly ruined your house. Doing everything and anything necessary in the service of protecting your bloodline, from exterminating enemies and traitorous vassals, leaving nothing but rotting corpses and smoldering ruins as grisly reminders of which house you don't dare threaten or mock, and having an entire country fearing your wrath. To forging powerful alliances, marrying your daughter to the crown and seating your grandsons on the Iron Throne. Being so close to ensuring the Lannister's dynasty of complete dominance over the realm for many generations to come, then your little shit of a son decides to screw over his entire family.

Sure Tywin was the one holding it together, but Varys contributes to Tywin getting killed, then kills Kevan, the only decently competent person to rule after him. If only Tywin had Varys swinging from a rope for treason years ago, maybe the Lannisters wouldn't be so royally fucked with Cersei at the helm.

Jaime is a whole other story, he is already a better man without the clutches of Cersei, but he could've been even better with decent parenting from Tywin. His time in the Riverlands he displayed qualities of Tywin in negotiations and commands but is far more understanding of plight and commanded respect from his soldiers in his own way.

    You note in the scene with Brienne, the Hound and Arya that Brienne says to The Hound "..and that's what you're doing?..."'Watching' over her" with the inference that "watching" is not the only thing The Hound is doing with Arya.
    As for Arya not killing the Hound, you thought she liked him? Err...no. Also this is an age 12ish litle girl who has had her father murdered in front of her, the rest of her family killed (as far as she knows), has herself murdered (brutally) and has had all sorts of other trauma. And you're expecting her to act "normally"😮😬😯

    Best way to understand the wildlings...imagine if thousands of years ago there were some terrifying monsters existing at the north end of the island of Great Britain and then the English crown was like "we need to build a huge and enchanted wall from one side of the island to the other that can't be breached" so some ramdom English lord just draws a line on a map and decides that's where the wall is getting built. Imagine the wall was built across what you know as the border with Scotland. Lets say at that time Scotland was mostly tribes and also now all trade and supply routes from the rest of the county has been cut off. Imagine if then over the years the monsters have ceased to be heard of and become near myth and in the meantime the English who manned the wall have lost sight of who they're defending it from and over the years the wall has become known for Scottish raids trying to get supplies and such during hard times especially during the winter...and the English now think of the Scottish as a bunch of raiding wildfolk and that the sole purpose of the wall is to defend the south from the Scottish (instead of monsters) and so end up fighting with them regularly. Meanwhile the Scottish are like these ppl think we're some kind of scum just because years ago they plonked a big wall up and we just happened to be on the other side so now they think we're the enemy. So the Scots have to resort to desparate tactics and sometimes if that means raiding and killing villages to gain food and stuff then they'll do it...brutal but its a lifestyle forced on them by a geographical blockade and historical ignorance, especially now the mythical monsters are on the rise again and they need to escape being up there even though the English and Wall guarders still think it's all a big myth.
    There that's my kind of comparison using real world geography. So as Scottish people think about it you'd prob end up as resentful to those on the hypothetical wall and south as Ygritte and her kind down in GoT.

    • @SuzySteejo
      @SuzySteejo  Рік тому

      The wall is pretty much a direct comparison to "Hadrian's Wall" to begin with, where the Scottish (Picts) used to raid English (Roman) villages, murdering and stealing from the people. The Roman's couldn't conquer Scotland due to the climate/geography/guerilla tactics employed and instead just decided to build a honking great wall to keep the "Barbarians" away.
      The wildlings are happy to murder women and children, eat each other and take what they want. Regardless of their reasoning for wanting through the wall at this point in time, they're obviously not civilized enough to be trusted south of the wall. The choice that the watch has is to either;
      1) Save the wildlings. Letting 100,000 of them through to ravage the countryside killing countless civillians, forcing the northern lords to rally their armies and exterminate the wildlings anyway or
      2) Keep the wildlings at bay (keeping their oath in the process) and have them all killed by the whitewalkers/winter.
      I don't see the wildlings as having their lifestyle forced upon them by a "geographical blockade". There are historically many examples of cultures surviving in inhospitable places just fine without raping and murdering their neighbours.

    you guys are way too harsh on daenerys' decisions. the dragons can't be controled and it's also not an easy thing to see a former slave asking to be owned again after you just freed thousands of people who dreamt of being free their entire life. daenerys is not wrong for destroying an opressive system and the people that have built it, it's not her fault that she's having problems to fix a city that had only slavery as a source of money.

    Given the power of Tywin and Cersei, and that they both wanted an assured outcome of the trial, it would not surprise me at all if Shae was given no choice in the matter of her testimony. They found her, imprisoned her, told her what to say, or else. (I've not read the books, this is my own speculation.) And the same thing goes for her sleeping with Tywin; I'm very skeptical that she entirely consented to that. Maybe she did it to help ensure her throat was not cut, maybe she thought she could get some decent money out of it, who knows. Point is, I do not in any way see her actions as representative of what she desired to happen.
