I love how The Hound can start out in a situation being sensible, cautious, and protective of Arya, but always has a good instinct for knowing when it's too late and time to go all in. Once Arya starts going after the guys at the inn, and can't be deterred, The Hound switches to winning the situation no matter what. He's like, "No, don't go in there! ... Er, okay then, here we go!"
It's worth noting that Cersei and Jamie have no POV chapters in the first novel. We mostly see them from Ned's perspective. Once we see more of their perspectives in the later books, we gain a different appreciation for them. So it makes sense that they would grow on you as we move forward.
Yeah, every chapter is full of bias and opinion. Jaime isn't the monster he's perceived to be - just a jaded man haunted by the past who's armoured himself in his reputation. Cersei is (at first at least) seen as elegant and charismatic - but when we see into her mind we realise she's bitter and spiteful to the core, constantly in a near state of panic that her power will be taken from her.
@@andromidius”Jaime isn’t the monster he’s perceived to be.” People don’t perceive him as a monster in universe, except perhaps maybe Catelyn. He’s seen as dishonorable and traitorous, not monstrous. That being said, who do you think would push a 10 year old boy out of window, if not a monster? He was also perfectly willing to kill Arya. Jaime wasn’t always a monster, and he doesn’t remain a monster, but there’s certainly a period in there where he was.
That's one of the main things I love about George's writing. You never know if something is true or not, or if it's just biases shining through since we follow these characters in specific POVs.
It says a lot about you when someone who kills a kid without remorse, and has women “graped” for punishment, can be redeemed because you thought they were cool or funny…

That wolfskin was the scabbard for Ned’s Valyrian steel greatsword, Ice, which is melted down and formed into Oathkeeper and Widow’s Wail. If it were a direwolf pelt, it would be much larger and not shaped like that.
In the books, Daario is lithe and smooth skinned with bright, deep blue eyes which can appear almost purple. His curly hair reaches his collar, and he keeps his beard cut in three prongs. Daario dyes his hair and trident beard, sometimes in blue and other times in deep purple. His fingernails are also enameled blue. (Possible book spoilers, though mostly in the realms of fan theories) Lindsay picking up on the lemon symbolism is interesting - though its not relevant to the show, but it is a hint at the fact in the books there is so much symbolism, analogy and foreshadowing everywhere (especially with food!). The show didn't follow a 'minor' subplot of Daenerys where she remembers the only time she felt at home - in front of the house with the lemon tree. The misdirection being she keeps thinking of that place as being in Braavos - yet no trees at all grow there, let alone lemon trees (and even the climate is too harsh there for a rich person's garden). And where is the only place we ever hear of having native lemon trees? Ah yes. Dorne.
Gosh, and then she makes the connect between Cersei's drinking and the late King Robert too! Again, book spoilers abound. Cersei essentially starts becoming Robert over the course of the books - drinking heavily, making tasteless boorish comments, thinking of herself as a warrior... and mistreating women to the point of extreme discomfort. She takes all his worst traits and none of his good ones. She even starts putting weight on rapidly, though she's never seen eating - just drinking, constantly.

Yeah hated that the og actor didn't return. He had a unique look about him.
I’d never heard that before. Granted I hadn’t looked into it, but I was always thrown off by Daenerys supposedly being attracted to him. No offence to the actor, but…
@@TukaihaHithlec It's even weirder in the books. Book Daario has a clownish look with a forked beard dyed purple and blonde mustaches. I thought he was a comedy relief character at first. When Daenerys started falling for him I couldn't believe it.
Atleast they're a better ship than creepy book Jorah Mormont who makes unwanted advances on Daenerys like kissing her without her consent 😅
Think I'll have TWO chickens.
