@@danielcarmichael3228 yeah I pretty much love everything about these guys😆 i’ve saw them twice in this past year they’re one of the best live bands I’ve seen.
Honestly probably had a lot to do with timing. By 96-97 this style of alt rock had fallen out of favor in the mainstream. One of my favorite bands though.
If I could ever send a message to Scott Lucas...it would be you were close to Cobain in 97...he died at 27...you through journeyman skill are the best I have ever seen in my life...if I were a millionaire or had a good amount of money...I would give you a trophy that says ...Greatest Guitarist Alive!!!
I agree. Scott Lucas is a true artist and has obviously never compromised on that path. I went to a show on a whim in '96 or '97, was completely gobsmacked by the performance, and have been a lifelong fan ever since. The guy is a legend. If I could ever get a message to Scott Lucas it would be, "Thank you for the music. It means a lot to me. And thank you for continuing to make it!"
Jeez, it almost turns into a QOTSA song when they play it.
Perfect description.
I was thinking more Fu Manchu, myself….
Homme was around for the recording of HCTZ.
Local H killing it as usual
Why isn't this a single. Question Mark.
As much as i love Ozzy and Coal Chamber, this version wipes the floor with their cover.
As good a cover as I've ever heard. What a performance.
I couldn't agree more. I can't imagine anyone doing this better, Scott's vocal performance suits this song perfectly.
Local H always kills it.... and this cover proves it!
Man I'd love a studio recording of this song. Such an incredible cover.
Local H makes all things better.
this is true in my experience.
@@marklone2435 I totally agree. His choices in covers show what an amazing fan of music he is. REM, Guided By Voices, Prince, Looking Glass, now this.
@@miameramusic …and not afraid to tackle modern pop which is awesome
@@danielcarmichael3228 yeah I pretty much love everything about these guys😆 i’ve saw them twice in this past year they’re one of the best live bands I’ve seen.
The beautiful mid range tone.
The cover I never knew I needed
Same here!
Heavy fucking shit. Should be on a greatest hits album. Love to hear this on my stereo system in my car.
Phil Kessel sounds great here
I'm trying to get my band to cover this cover.
And on the 8th Day, God did not rest until he created Local H!
That's cute.
Hey, Robert Smith from the cure called. He wants his sweater back
How have I not seen this until now? Scott should do this for Awesome Mixed Tape 4.
This band is just so god damn great
So far the best cover of this song. Great job guys👌
Way better than I would have guessed
G dam that was awesome! What a great band to remind us rocks not dead!
So underrated . Going to see them tonight. 2/25/20
They were awesome. The new lp is awesome. Best this year.
Still the best this year. Lol
I love that they're sharing the gorilla suit.
They took this cover to the MAX
Hell yeah local h was a huge influence for me when I was kid. Being from the same area, that made them extra great to me.
I like how at the end of this Scott's reaction is, "Eh, was that alright? Maybe?" Yeah, dude. You fuckin' nailed it.
They did a great job with this one
Oh my sweet jeebus this ROCKS!
This is so fucking good. Wow.
Saw these guys back around 97 or 98 and they absolutely killed it. I will never understand why they didn't catch on with people.
I have wondered the very same thing! I think they got caught up in some crap with a record label. Criminal!!!
Honestly probably had a lot to do with timing. By 96-97 this style of alt rock had fallen out of favor in the mainstream. One of my favorite bands though.
That cover put me in my cage quickly, and it did it just the way I like it, starved for more! Wahi' Valleys
Best cover Ever! It Rocks!!!
Makes me imagine the little baby on the cover of “Nevermind” reaching for a banana instead of a dollar bill.
Worth more. Cant eat money.
Man!!! Love that Tone!
I’m glad I randomly decided to search for “Shock the Monkey cover”
Dope cover Scott.
That sounded really awesome. Love Local H
I love their cover of Joey
Instant like and sub! Beautiful! Loving this robust cover version 😀👍👍
I appreciate this a ton.
how is this so fucking good?
That was fantastic.
Loved it.
this sounds so good.
Awesome!!!!
great jam.. impressive!
Really like this version. Very gritty! Yeah
These guys are going ape! Awesome cover.
Awesome performance.
That's bad ass
Killed it.
holy shit!
Brilliant
Awesome
I like this better than Peter's version.
Total bad ass 🤟🏻
awesome
Those shades are sick
Fuck yeah.
Rocked that shit!
Most underrated group from the 90s. Still going strong and making great music for us to enjoy.
Is "two guys" considered a "group"?
@@jukeboxzero0079 Depends on how much noise you can make.
Rockin' this shit hard!
Yes
Great tone on both
Y'all need more Local H
Don’t you fucking mess with the monkey..😎
Hot Damm!!!
This is so fucking rad haha Love Local H
There should be a point at which a cover as good as this becomes the original, and vice versa...Sorry Peter Gabriel.
Fantastic interpretation! I really need to dig deeper into Local H's music
Their latest album "Lifers" is fantastic
@@morris2112 each record got better and better .....yep lifers fucking rules .....!
This cover and the wang chung cover of modest mouse are my favorite of the entire series.
Why isn't on a CD? Fucking hard as nails.

Stephan Davis I met him. He’s cool as a fan. No pun intended . Lol

Hell F$&k yeah. !
Tight AF. Kind of sounds like regular guy by QOTSA
Put this on iTunes please !!!
Also sounds like a fucking nuke landing on a major city.
I actually liked that.
So punk rock
i like the german version of the original with Peter Hammill on backing vocals! This is effin' awesome though.
What a performance. The guitar tone is spectacular. The drumming is blistering. Considering the dodgy source material, minorly miraculous. Love it.
It’s not a song….it’s a fucking statement
Drive fast, don't crash music.
Cool as fuck.
This shit is dope lol.
Oh I get it , he’s wearing a monkey mask
When did Dwight Schrute start a band?
Seriously though, Local H rocks!

Mancow was right!!!!
Well, Local H is a real band. No wonder it's good. Some of the acts on here are questionable to say the least.
Local H is so underrated. One of my favorite bands.
Like those Gwar people, lol.
I like Local H and all but does anybody else feel like this should have been QOTSA? This is incredible for just a guitar and drums, though.
Steve Rye reminded me of QOTSA too! This would’ve been the biggest if it were Josh and company.
No Scott is perfection
not the original drummer
Scott Lucas made a Peter Gabriel song good! What kind of Wizard is he?
Coal Chamber and Ozzy made the best cover
Thinking you're going to make a song better by changing the tempo is plain stupid. The song was a hit, and was that way for a reason
