@@dougkuhns My X-girlfriend from back in 2003 use to say Rage Against The Machine put on the best live show ever. I took her to see Local H (with Detachment Kit opening) in Tampa at The Twilight. After the show was over she told me Local H puts on the best live show ever. And then we went and saw them 2 days later at Wills Pub in Orlando. I always go to multiple shows when they come down here.
She said it was Scott's "energy" on stage and off it. He crowd surfed at Twilight while playing. He walked through the crowd at Wills while playing.
      Best show on earth.

Wow, after starting off informative, this proved to be terribly rushed and summed a decade+ of great records into about 15 seconds. Back in 1996, I can still remember where I was when I first heard Bound For The Floor. For those of us that were still recovering from Kurt Cobain's death and the fading out of the Grunge Era, Local H's sound was just what we needed at the time. They had very similar energy and sound and I was hooked. For me, it felt like they picked up where Nirvana and Grunge left off. I am still a dedicated fan to this very day, too. I knew this would be like a once in a lifetime chance to see them play because they usually just tour the US. Saw them play, got what I wanted. When Alien Ant Farm played, who completely sucked, I saw Scott Lucas standing at the merch. No one bought anything and nobody seems to know who he was. I got my copy of 'As Good With Dead' with me. He signed it and we had two beers together and talked about music and stuff, he was very calm and really down to earth. Made me like his music even more. This is so weird. I haven't listened to local h in awhile and out of the blue I had "California Songs" in my head all day. And then this video comes out today? Hmm....

i opened for them multiple times during the pj soles album tours and they were killing it then. jeff tweedy , scott lucas , kris roe and billy corgan are the top 4 midwest songwriters.

I know you get a lot of shit for asking where certain bands are, I never heard Local H in New Zealand back in the day because their label never promoted them here. I just checked out their catalog on Applemusic and what a rad band! Thank you so much for turning me on to stuff that I missed the first time around, this isn’t the first time you’ve turned me on to new to me music. You should totally do a video on Blonde Redhead, they are another band that never got the global exposure they deserved when they were working their asses off. Cheers 🍻 and peace ✌️

Such a great band. I still crank their first few records regularly. It pains me to see them older now though. It makes me realise that I'm not 17 anymore and I'm 44. Getting older sucks. I'm still the same teenager, I just don't have any hair and I have grey in my beard. Thanks for the great video

Local H wasn’t a band in 1988 at all, there was an “interracial “ band called Rude Awakening that included two future Local members .
Local H became a band in 1990 and was a 4 pc, then a 3 pc, and finally a 2 pc by early 93. There were two demos prior to the tapes that made their way to polydor-Island.

Same thing about my home town. Great to "grow up" in but after that everything sucks. Job market / opportunities suck. Minimum wage is bad. Nothing to do there ever. People just can't wait to be 18 to leave the state.

Every album has a different sound and every album is a must listen. Easily the most underrated band of the last 30 years. Ham Fisted should have been a smash. Wasn't a Nirvana rip off in the slightest though if you like one you'd like the other too. If you haven't listened to Local H or you only know the radio hits do yourself a favor and get the albums at least through Zoo. If you do and you don't like what you hear then ur in wrong genre lol
Quick shout out to The Meices who are from the same vein and are the best bands nobodies ever heard. You should def do a video on them. You'd make my day if u did!

I always knew bound to the floor. But years later I dated a girl that showed me that they had more amazing songs. And they became one of my top 10 bands. I go to see them live anytime there around.

I saw Local H in concert once… some kids were making fun of them because they only had 2 members… the drummer jumped from the stage and started kicking ass!
