CHRIST THE REDEEMER, WONDER OF THE WORLD 🇧🇷 RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL | COVID 19

- Today we're in Rio de Janeiro touring the city to see one of the 7 wonders of the world, Christ The Redeemer (Cristo Redentor). It’s the 4th largest statue of Jesus in the world, the largest Art Deco style sculpture, and the statue was deemed as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World along with Machu Picchu, the Great Wall of China, and the Roman Colosseum. We bring you along with us to see Christ The Redeemer, Parque Lage, and more. We go to the famous Parque Lage to walk around the park, sit at a famous cafe you might have seen before. Let's take a walk around Rio De Janeiro and see Brazil in ways you haven't before. What's more, we are seeing this during the covid 19 pandemic so it is an interesting look at something many tourists have seen before, but from a different perspective. This is the Rio De Janeiro Covid 19 travel vlog.

Our coffes are small because is way stronger than regular coffe in USA, and because we drink several times a day.
More than Colombia ?
@@carlosespinoza2453 Brazil is the largest coffee producer in the world and this year we won two awards for the best coffee in the world, one of the awards is called "Cup of Excellence".
But both are great 🇨🇴🇧🇷❤️
Geovanna, that is amazing, I didn't know that Brazil was the 1º producer in the World

With a dollar equal to five real , nothing is expensive!!!!
Exactly!!
The dollar is more than five Real. So, for the people who receive dollars, everything for them will be cheaper, but not for the Brazilian citizens!

Visit downtown Rio, there are a lot to see and do there:
- Confeitaria Colombo ( you can have a great breakfast there)
- National Library ( the largest in Latin America, with 9 million books)
- Municipal Theater
- National Museum of Fine Arts
- Mosteiro de São Bento-
- Candelária Church
- Selaron Steps
- Rio Cathedral
- Lapa Arches
- Real Gabinete Português de Leitura ( the 4th most beautiful Library in the world according to Times magazine)
Totally agree. A cultural tour in Rio is awesome
Mate I'm in Rio right now, google says almost all those places are closed wtf..
In the colonial period the Brazil had/has most diversity. Each region has a different influence and this is so beautiful in our country.
The waiter at the cafe said that: now you can have a good picture because the sun is right on you!
Oh good to know haha
What a great vlog. I feel I am with you all the way while having breakfast and getting ready to see one of the 7th Wonders of the world. Thank you Lindsey. Thank you Alexander!
Wow that’s awesome to hear. That’s how we want you to feel.
Christ the Redeemer is an optical illusion. Because you can practically see it from many places in Rio, your mind becomes accustomed over the hours/days to think of it as small, only for that mental image to be blown away when you suddenly see it on top of Corcovado Mountain. The statue on its own is great, but mixed with that mental trick and the gorgeous surroundings it's truly the greatest statue in the world.
The statue is so much larger up close, Amazing! Loved seeing that beautiful park. Glad that Lindsey is Ok from her slip. It's gotten really cold here, Louisiana, for me at least, wish I was there in that warm weather. Love you guys and always enjoy your videos. God bless and take go care of each other. Love you both.
I love your Brazil vlog. Very unpretentious, informative and modestly funny. I was in Brazil in January of this year, just two weeks before the covid-19, on my two-month trip around the world. Only a week in Rio. ☹️ Not enough! But I fell in love with this country and its people. Readers of this vlog very often suggest many places to visit in Brazil. I propose to see and visit Niterói - a city in southeastern Brazil, connected to Rio de Janeiro by a bridge across the Guanabara Bay. The saucer-shaped Niterói Museum of Contemporary Art on the bay was designed by the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer. Visit this very unconventional museum. By the way, due to some linguistic misunderstanding, I got off the bus one stop further and went for a longer walk to the Museum. I have never regretted this accidental misfortune! It is such a beautiful, lesser-known view of Rio, let alone seeing this example of modern architecture. Anyway, I love your vlog and admire you as a traveling couple.👏🎄🍻
I left Brazil for good, and will never return; however, I miss the food and the fruits very much, and seeing you eat makes my mouth water.
I was on top of the Corcovado Mountain, right at the foot of the statue at 4:00 AM in early 1966, before Rio became a dangerous city. My ex-wife and I wanted to watch the sunrise from there, and we were rewarded with an amazing spectacle at around 5:30 AM.
I was there again in November of 2018, when I brought my youngest son to see it, luckily on a bright day.
Wow!! Every place you've been in this video is just wow! Christ the redeemer, the statue, then the park and last cafe! This just makes me want even more to go out and explore!
Thank you for sharing!!!
Rio has so much to offer, we could spend a month here and not see it all.
I'm from Rio de Janeiro, but I've been living here in Virginia / USA for 4 years .... You guys are really nice ... Thank you for taking images from Rio de Janeiro, and Brazil to the whole world. Make yourself at home. CARIOCAS (people born in Rio de Janeiro) and Brazilians are super friendly and friendly. Enjoy !!! In the city of Rio de Janeiro You can go to the beaches of Barra da Tijuca, Praia da Reserva, Praia do Pontal .... In the State of Rio, going north, there are Arraial do Cabo, Cabo Frio and Búzios, I believe you will like it very much.
I recommend parati.
The American coffee that you drink there in the USA, for us Brazilians is like tea, very weak! The Brazilian coffee is smaller because it is very strong!
It is not possible to see the whole city of Rio de Janeiro, the city is huge and from there Christ the Redeemer just to see a part of it. Most of the city is in the back of the mountains that are behind of the statue!
Who cares
@@Sebkrist you!
it's the same as in europe
Vcs são muito simpáticos.
The Brazil was the largest producer and exporter of coffee in the world, the production was between a area named “ Vale do Paraíba “ in Portuguese, this area is located Rio and São Paulo.
That is so true Christ the redeemer is way more impressive in person that it is in pictures and videos, the view is breathtaking. For sure one of the wonders of the world. Rio de Janeiro is amazing!
Unfortunately it wasn’t a clear day, that view is so beautiful when there are no clouds.
Pois é, hoje tá um sol do caramba aqui!
That is a good thing to have such a beatiful place next to the City in Rio
We were sad about it
@@carlosespinoza2453 It isn´t next to the city it is literally inside Rio, that forest is sorrounded by the city

So lovely day in Rio , definitely a must-go destination! Keep showing more guys ..
Incredible. Seeing that statue is on my bucket list. Just incredible.
Wow! Christ the Redeemer is just so.. majestic! I love the nature there! Food looks good and yummy as usual!😊
Sidhiel, here in South America most of us are Catholic and believe in Jesus Christ. But the last decades Catholicism has lost its devotion dramatically
@@carlosespinoza2453 I think this happens all over the world, not just South America. Well, I'm a Catholic too.
Take a look to the Cathedral in Lima , it has underground cemetery ( Cripta ) ua-cam.com/video/3ulV-1aJiNw/v-deo.html

I'm so invested in this series! I watch it every morning with a cup of coffee I just love it~ You guys are both so down to earth
On the other hand, the forests in the Pedra Branca and Mendanha massifs are actual Mata Atlântica. As is the one at the slopes of the city of Niterói.
I love the Christ Redeemer... I visited him in 4 times. Amazing experience.
Bela vista 😀
Just beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
I miss Rio de Janeiro so much! My home town.
Thanks for the prices and the lovely background music.
In Parque Lage, if you buy something in the souvenir shop, you can access the rooftop of the building. And just beside Parque Lage, there is the Botanical Garden, much larger park, but you have to pay to enter.
It's a pity that the weather was not good during your visit to Christ The Redeemer. You can see much more when the weather is better. I'm not here just to give bad news... I would also liek to say Good work! :)
You are learning good! I can hear a samba!!!!
Nice video 👍
Really hope we get to visit some day!
Q&A: You’ve mastered the word “obrigado”, what other Portuguese words have you become comfortable using?
Good question! Haha that’s the main one we always use. We will try to answer this soon
Such a nice couple! I gotta tell you, you guys are authentic and simple, I love that! Love to see the best part of the country I was born. I’m sure you guys had a great time. If you have the opportunity to go to Balneário Camboriú - Santa Catarina state, you gonna love it! Keep making your videos! ✌🏻😎☀️ peace!
Thanks so much! ❤️
N me canso de ouvir eles dizerem "obrigada" e "obrigado" 😊😊😊
I liked the music at the end of the video. The majestic Christ the Redeemer and the architecture of the palace are admirable. Continue enjoying! 🇧🇷
Nice video guys, for sure in my bucket list for 2021.
Hey, I'm from Brazil and I loved the way you showed my country. Feel welcome to always come back, we have many more amazing places that are worth visiting.

Hi guys, this is incredible.
Fantastic! The part I liked most was when you were having the combo "caipirinha e coxinha". What a combo!!!! I'm supposed to try. And everything in this video was amazing!
Love your transparency. You are both genuine and likeable. Love all the great views you share and your perspective on every site you experience.
Loved it and suger loaf mountain which I'm sure your going to visit next. Dont forget to visit the Botanical gardens too:) or the Sahara shopping street.

Parabéns! Muito bom!
Fantástico esse vídeo
Hahaha poor Lindsey! I enjoy how you guys show us every meal you have!
We are glad you enjoy 😊
Loving your videos. Cariocas generally have no notion of how peculiar the city geography is - that incredible mix of mountains, city blocks and beaches alongside each other.
I really liked that you chose Bibi Sucos to get that açai for breakfast. Bibi Sucos is one of the best juice houses in Rio - as probably you have noticed during the week, juice houses are basically everywhere in the city. Bibi was also one of the main establishments responsible for popularizing açaí in Rio back in the 90's, when they started serving that carioca-style smoothie version, mixed with guaraná and granola on top.
Since you are in love with açaí, if you guys are still in town - and in case you don't travel to Belém do Pará - try and get some real legit açaí at Tacacá do Norte, in Flamengo. That is the original Amazonian style of açaí (you case you go there, order a bowl with sugar and tapioca - not granola - on top).
Yes we tried açaí from the place you mentioned, it was so creamy and less sugary. Great experience. Also we are addicted to the açaí from bibis, went there nearly every morning lol
I've seen that castle cafe on insta so much hahaha looks so beautiful!!
Haha yes everyone lining up to get the Instagram photo
Hello thanks for visiting our country, what God bless you

You did love coxinhas and açaí guys haha go to arraial do cabo or parati! Smaller and beautiful cities close to Rio!
After you go to Sugar Loaf, remember to take a walk in Pista Claudio Coutinho( or Caminho do Bem-te-vi). It´s on the left side of Praia Vermelha, at a few steps from the station of the cable car!
The last scene is the best part of the video! :D
Haha glad you liked it
@@lindseyfw2903, :D
Final comment (I'm already bothering): the cream cheese inside the coxinha is requeijão, a type of brazilian cheese spread.
Good to know. We liked it. Leave as many comments as you want 😊
Really cool to show those kids selling candies on the signal. That is the type of thing someone focused only on the touristic stuff would never show... But your street level type of videos makes for some unusual demonstrations. Oh, just one minor mistake I noticed: the Christ statue does not actually stand on the tallest point over the city, though it is quite tall (about 700m, or 2300 feet tall).
Good to know, our mistake
Love from India 🇮🇳
