- Jona Lewie - with Kirsty MacColl on bass, performing "You'll Always Find Me In The Kitchen At Parties" on Runaround 1980, presented by Mike Reid. Rebroadcast 2020, I had recorded this on a PVR and months later figured out how to get recordings off this onto DVD. DVD-R archive 4050

Blasted this one just of Broomfield park back in 81, old times old boy now. Thank you for liking this comment. -Melvin Buchard 2023
Mike would later play the role of Frank in EastEnders. He was only 67 when he died of a heart attack in 2007. RIP Mike.
Obvious now but in my ignorance back in the day I never twigged that Kirsty MacColl was on this track, much admired & v.much missed ⚘
I remember this song very well from 1980.
Still love it now ☺️
Loved this song back in 1980, and still do ! .. Heard it on alternative radio station 3RRR in Melbourne, Australia, and it was so different to just about anything else going around .. Great to see the wonderful Kirsty McColl here .. I adore Kirsty, have all her albums, and miss her .. Thanks so much for the upload ! 👍👍
Wow. I think I may have actually watched this particular episode when it aired. I was 12, yikes! Runaround, Grange Hill, John Craven's Newsround, Blue Peter. This was all standard post school viewing fare for me back then.
Same here, all must see TV, then on Thursday evenings Top Of The Pops
Brilliant, remember this from 1980.
Thanks for watching and commenting
@@ScottishTeeVee Most Welcome.
2:41 Jona throw his hat in the air and it lands... right on the snare drum, and the drummer still plays like nothing happened, thanks playback !

Gold
The hat landing on the drum kit is hilarious
I never noticed that until you mentioned it. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂
@@ScottishTeeVee of course, a ton of great stuff on your channel!
@@shawneenation9326 Thanks for taking the time to look over a few of my other videos 🙂
I was randomly channel surfing on our ancient freeview tv this morning and an episode of Runaround from 1980 came on...i was mildly amused explaining who the presenter was to the missus (she wasn't born until 1990)....and then this performance came on! Brilliant. I just knew someone on yt would've posted it - thanks! (And i never knew it was Kirsty MacColl on the backing vocals)
Brilliant tongue in cheek from Jonah, and Kirsty Macoll on backing Vocals..God bless her...
Thus song was used in a Kitchen Advert featuring Jonah in 3 Cameos..
Babe, you have it all! Goodness! And you’re on TikTok, yes?
Kirsty ❤❤❤
Fantastico!! I got this song in a wonderful Stiff compilation.
That label made a lot of 80's rock history..
I’m here because I keep hearing this song in a game. SongPop. The title had me intrigued. I’m disappointed that I never heard this back then. But, I guess that’s what I get for being born in the freaking USA. 🙄
I'd have thought this was the kinda song that would have made it to Campus radio at the time
@@ScottishTeeVee yeah maybe but, I skipped college back then. 🙄🤷🏻♀️😂
I heard it, probably on a weird radio station.
I can see why Kirsty MacColl was so famous in England now. She's very sexy in this. The bloke is a complete weirdo. That's why I find this song so interesting. It's really weird, cool, a bit naff, but super interesting and catchy. How fun!
Thanks for watching and commenting
I think he was playing the part of a weirdo in the performance.
You say the singer is a complete weirdo, but he doesn't have work anymore, as he wrote a very famous Christmas song Stop The Calverly, the most played Christmas song.
Kirsty MacColl was always lush (RIP) but J.L did the best ever Xmas song (even though it was never an Xmas song, being an anti-war song in reality!) - for those that don't know it, have a nose at 'Stop the cavalry'... and enjoy.
@@phillipbonner9944 Many weirdo's are talented and worth a fortune. Consider my musical hero Flea. A total maniac, but wow... what a legend.
Damn, this is smooooth.
ALTERA HISTORIA DU ROCK
I think Frank Butcher stole Jona’s hat?
I think that's Bob Andrews on drums.
A whale. RUNAROUND!
Wait, were they playing in front of children lol?
Indeed.
Kirsty died way too young very sad
Always loved this; great vocals.
